Helmets are required by the rules now for F2D events. And not a bad idea with carbon fiber props going 30K rpm and planes going over 100 mph. And mr maverick couldnt fly one of these OR a kite we fly on the best day of his life.
Man! At those speeds how can any judges see the paper cuts!!?? Nice to see you guys keeping the thrill alive. Was heavy into it during the late 60's and early 70's in Vancouver Canada (VGMC). Lots of great memories. Lots of great people. Tight lines!!! Thanks
Pilots?? There planes on a string! This is GAY!!! Real pilots FLY planes not sit around with a bunch of dudes with planes on a string with helmets on and fly them around like a kite haha
@maverick1920 this is not a fair judgement this is a very hard skill to learn. Perhaps you could stop pontificating for a little while you might find a hoby that dosen't involve criticizing others
Man thats intense flying. Far more intense then I ever expected. Line control just has a terrible "old" image I guess. :P But its nothing short of the thrills of conventional RC. Great stuff guys!
How could you ever think Control line was boring. NO control line model is boring You can race around making your plane go over 100 km/h(Speed) You can race with three peaple in one circle trying to win (Team racing) You can do loops, eights, squares and alot more (Stunt) You can battle other peaple while doing loops, eights, etc. Or you can get a nice pleasent model and just fly. Either way just flying level is fun. Oh and the planes don't get tangled because you move the handel to a lot of places.
Wow.. At first I thought they were flying at that speed and i was incredibly impressed. like sword fighting a ninja for the first time impressed. then I saw the pilots, not furiously tapping sensitive controls, but tugging on strings.. lmao. Still a cool sport but not as cool as i first thought.

I wish they had facilities like this in Sydney. With the down shot. Looks great.

Wearing helmets? We used to fly our .049 and .015 powered planes with streamers but NEVER with a gay helmet!

Wow, until now I though control line flying was just flying in circles, and therefore boooring, but obviosly I was wrong.
Seriously, how do the line not get totally entangled withing 1 second?
