  • thmk u so much

  • can u use fingerpaint... im so serious and would it look good in pink and yellow... i dont hav white

  • @CiCizers

I have not tried finger paint but I think it might work..and the pink and yellow would look okay. Just experiment and have fun :)

  • Yes, it is painted on a binder without a plastic sleeve on the front. They work great and the paint does not lift. Great for school, recipes, and just about everything :)

  • Is that on a binder? I could totally do that for school~! c; That`s awesome and looks so much simpler than I thought it would be! I think I might try it out~! x3

  • I love this video and I'm goin to try this myself when I have bought some paint. Thank you for a great and educational video.

  • @Sarisfaction84

Thank YOU! I am glad that you like it!

  • What type of paint are you using? I MUST KNOW!

  • @kayjo101

It is Folkart acrylic paint :) I have answered it numerous times in the comments but I realize that I did not mention it in the actual video. You can buy this paint at Joann's or Michaels..if you can't find it you can use another brand but these work the best.

  • *-* WOW wunderfull rose

  • @AndroidBeCi Thank You :)

  • Wow

  • how come i was never taught this technique at school? i'm a little disappointed, i think i need to go for some painting technique classes, i just thought i was only good at abstract art... seems i haven't been given all the techniques i wanted.

  • @nomesy81

I feel like you..there are so many wonderful techniques out there! When I was in school we didn't even have art classes so now I am learning all kinds of wonderful things :)

  • I tried doing it with crayola paints on the same surface and I pressed like you said but I think it would work better with craft paint

  • omg I tried that takes so much practice can you do a tip video on how hard you push???

  • @chachaslide346

you must push until the bristles spread out to the desired amount. It is something that you just work on until it feels and looks right. Keep painting..it will come :)

  • its a cabbage rose

  • @jackrodgrs

    You are so right :)

  • It looks umm... well, it´s cool but it doesn´t look like a rose...

  • THANK YOU' If I hadn't watched this, I would have been terrible at drawing flowers for the rest of my life!

  • RING BINDER?! Lol

  • beautiful! but... not really a rose, huh?

  • Is it possible to do this with watercolors?

  • @12Neferet

I have no idea..I don't paint with watercolor but I suppose you could try :)

  • What kind of paint/brushes did you use??

  • @emwekinz

I use acrylic folkart paint and One stroke brushes made by plaid :)

  • that is so pretty I would like to learn it ! Can't wait 🌹

  • Oh my god, thats beautiful. I'm speachless, i wanna go to my nearest craft store get all the materirals and do it right now! Lol. Just beautiful.

  • Wow i could never draw or paint roses before but u helped me so much... If there is anyway u can do one of a pink exotic flowers i would appreciate it!!

  • I was wondering if it'll work if i use any colors i want?

  • @luckyandhachi

yes, I always encourage people to use the colors that they love :) Have fun. Some colors cover betther than others so it is good to try different combinations. I love painting "Blue roses".

  • Thank'You this helped so much! Its really pretty! I might paint on a binder,;) x

  • Does the type of brush really matter, and where can you find the Acrylic paint? Any specific store you recommend? :)

  • @Dafnadill

Yes, the type of brush is the most important..you can use other paint but the brush must be right or you will not get the nice strokes. You can usually find the brushes and the paint at a Michael's or Joann's. Most craft stores will have them.

  • @Dafnadill Be careful, acrylic does NOT come off of clothing. And make sure to rinse the brushes out really well afterwards or you'll ruin the brushes.

  • wow thats pretty. does putting a ton of paint on the brush help with the seashell thing?

  • @littleluluscraps

Yes, you must really load the brush with paint but it is important that you blend it well so that you don't see lines in your stokes. If it starts to get muddy on the white, just wipe the white side off and reload with white, blending again before going back on the rose. Hope this helps :)

  • @marysart1 thanks! i tried it, and it didnt look exactly like this, but it still looked good(:

  • @littleluluscraps

Just keep painting and it get just gets better :) Thanks for sharing!

  • thank you very much

  • This helped me a lot! Thank you!

  • @WizzkidJana

I am so glad that it was useful :) Happy painting!

  • ma che pittura lucida usa ? olio ?

  • @vito4355

This is Acrylic paint, not oil. It is not a glossy paint.

  • @marysart1 oh thank you very much ^°^ now I understand why and more lucidly compact and marvel ,Congrats

  • @marysart1 now I understand why and more lucidly compact and marvel ,Congrats

  • @marysart1 thank you very much

  • @vito4355 THANK YOU VERY MUCH ^°^

  • @vito4355 thank you very much

  • Why are you painting on a binder?

  • @ilystranger101

Because I llike to paint on kinds of surfaces. They make wonderful gifts :)

  • what kind of paint do u use????

  • @hazel82678

I use acrylic paint and the brand is folkart, made by plaid.

  • @marysart1 thank you for answering! I'm painting right now and it's actually going really well! :-D

  • I would like to know if you used Folk Art Floating Medium in this video? I really want to try this but I don't have the floating medium :(

  • @xTHx1

No, I do not use the floating medium. I think it makes the paint muddy. If you need to thin it (I didn't) use a very light spray of water. Sometimes if you are on a canvas you will need to use the spray. Happy painting :)

  • I would like to know if you used Folk Art Floating Medium in this video? I really want to try this but I don't have the floating medium :(

  • The brush that I am using in this video is a 3/4 Plaid Onestroke Donna Dewberry Flat. The brush is very important because it must be thin and the hair is a bit longer than the regular brushes. You can buy these brush's through Michaels or Joann's or go the Official Onestroke site.

  • Can i know the name of the brush and the paints?

Besides I AM IN LOVE WITH UR PAINTING! Keep it up! <3 :-))

  • this video made me want to start painting. and doing this design the whole time :D i love it, it's beautiful. you taught me more than my art teacher :/

  • @Melissa9850

I am so glad that it was helpful..you must post your pictures when you paint them :)

  • @marysart1 i will :D

  • @marysart1 i painted it and it looks great for my first try :D i'm not sure how to post pictures though

  • this is cool! what color is best for the backgound? i think i just want it a full solid color

  • @3Musketeerscandy

Any color will work. My favorite is sage green but I would use a color that is in your home. Black will really make them "pop" Experiment with different colors and the practice will be very valuable.

  • hey I seem to be more comfortable with the slanted brush, seems to give me more of an ease at making different flowers, do you agree? What flower do you use the slanted brush for

  • @greeneyes011765

I like to use the angle brush to make the comma stroke in the big rose..my students find it much easier but I don't really use it too much. It is good to experiment and use the brush that you like the best.

  • Wow! Youre really talented its beatiful!

Jw why are you painting a bender?

  • @misstisdale85 Thank You! I am painting on a binder because I like to paint all kinds of surfaces. You can paint on a canvas, glass, etc. Whatever you like :)

  • do you use a fan brush?

  • @sillypup12

I do not use a fan brush for this but yes, for some paintings I would use a fan brush :)

  • Thank You! I also paint on the calendars..they make the best gifts :) I paint on just about everything. Sounds like you are doing a good job if others like your work and want to buy it :)

  • Hi there, just came across your video. Beautiful! What a great idea painting on a looseleaf binder. I am self-taught, still have problems with my little leaves and certain flowers. I love it.! Just yesterday sold some Christmas ornaments and pocket calendars, all purchased at the dollar store with one stroke. People loved them. I am trying to get more ideas to do a craft show table, if possible. Hey write back, glad to see someone else likes one stroke.

  • Wow very nice

  • AHHHHHH!!! I'm so close to crying! I tried this last night and my paint just isn't flowing freely like yours. I'm putting it on my brush correctly and I'm using acrylic. I tried painting it on a canvas for my mums birthday tomorrow and ruined it!!! :( :(

  • @DERF69ER I am sorry that it didn't work for you. Did you use folk art paint? It does take some practice. Start by just trying to do the rosebuds.

  • @marysart1 Nope, I just used normal acrylic. Where do you get folk art paint from?

  • @DERF69ER You can buy them at Michaels, Joann's and often at Wal-Mart

  • that luks fkin awesome!

  • Thank you.

  • I think your technique is really cool but that doesn't look like a rose at all.... maybe a hibiscus? reminds me of that painter in KPBS (NOT Bob Ross) but the lady that used to do flowers there.

  • You are awesome! Please do more videos :)

  • @li02ly Thank you! Have you seen my snowman video..it is probably more for kids but so much fun to paint :)

  • Wow you make it look so easy!! It looks like it's real!

  • this is sooo beautiful! :)

  • Good for you :)

  • THANK YOU! this really motivated me to finally paint my wall :'D

  • Thank you all so much. Visit my website at mypaints.com

  • It is so beautiful :,)

  • love donna dewberry style have taken alot of classes and sstill need practice.

you are great at it. xoxo

  • Thank you. I am not sure if the rose is too big for the nail but you could sure try.

  • That flower is so cool. can you do the same rose with nail polish? Also could you do this same trick with eyeshadow by the corner of your eye?

  • why are you painting on a binder

  • @moobell88

Because binders are great for keeping recipes in. I paint on everything :)

  • this technique is great for nails too... just use a smaller brush :)

  • Wow!! Amazing! =] I need to get some of those paints...!

  • Je n'ai pas pu regardée la vidéo en entier mais je trouve votre travail super jolie ! Et bonne technique !
