Out of the maybe 14 gun shops around my area I believe two shops carry it, so it's not very common. It's easy to buy online but you have to pay extra because it falls under hazmat regs to ship I think.. I've shot some from my Mossberg 590 but its gotta be the dirtiest round I've ever come across by far lol.

Cant buy them in Iowa, Florida, Alaska, Illinois, Massachusetts, California, Hawaii, and regions of New York, maybe some other states and cities like Chicago but you'd have to check it out State laws may have changed since I looked last. Besides that the only restrictions that I'm aware of is the high shipping charge because it's classed as a pyrotechnic so that makes it a hazardous item.

@Mlizar Actualy dragon's breath wouldn't work on an automatic shotgun, It's actualy a very low powered round. so when its fired it couldnt generate enough recoil energy to cycle the next shot, that and when its fired a small flame is still being emitted from the shell for 3-5 seconds, which would catch you on fire :P but it would be REALLY freakin cool XD

@recordmanful, regular shot doesn't catch things on fire. I've seen a shotgun shell used by the U.S. forest service to start controlled burns. Burning shot can also bounce around and catch other things on fire which would be effective crowd control and indirect attacks.

@satanic666sonic Check the applicable forums. Ammunition is not an arcane art that only companies know, hell computers, radios, and plastics aren't either for that matter. There are still a few people left that aren't pure consumers if you look long enough. This stuff is probably safer than loading shot since it is not going to need to be as hot(ironically) of a load. Just a little powder to push it out and the pyrophoricity of finely powdered Zirconium Dioxide does the rest.

I know several individual people around here (midwest) that have automated ammo reloaders that can reload shells at a very high rate, and for a much lower cost than buying the shell. Just zirconium sparks. They're mostly a novelty round, since it doesn't have the range of a dedicated flamethrower and autoloaders can't load them (even if they ejected properly, flame would still be shooting out and it would immediately set the user on fire as it ejected).
