whoever this snarky guy on camera is so diluted with what the hell goes on in most peoples lives. Chernobyl was a first gen plant....and with that problems can happen with a greater chance than 2nd and 3rd. I would love to punch people like this guy.
Oooooh, you almighty genius...YES!!! $240 every 15 months is going to make a HUGE difference in the ammount of people riding bicycles INSTEAD of taking a car... And of course there will be NOBODY that will buy a bicycle and sit it in the garage, just to get a credit...
1) Most trips by Americans are still less than five miles.
2) Making these trips by bike really would save a significant amount of oil and reduce other bad effects on our nation
3) common sense? Cities could be made more compact, to almost everyone's advantage.
4) Yes, modern US nukes are safer than Chernobyl, but we still don't have a good way to deal with waste and even a small risk of such great calamity is a serious business
You need to wake to reality buddy, John Boehner is right riding bicycles is not going to solve our energy crisis. Another thing is people schedule such distance from work and home, common sense. yes nuclear is more efficent, far as the Russians they don't have the same standards as we do plus the knowledge and know how to operate nuclear power andsafety measure.
1 the majority of car trips are of a short distance, and cars create most of their pollution in the first part of a journey. Additionally because most car trips are of bikable distances this will encourage the switch to cycling, for these trips.
2. America is a nation of fat people. Obesity costs billions, and creates morbidity and disease. Helping to solve this is a bonus.
3. How will it not help your energy problems when bikes dont use petrol?
@KrunchyJD still disagree there are lot people do drive long distance to work, far as obesity that is people being lazy or not taking care of themselves cars have nothing to do with.
@lovejen01 There may be a large number of people driving long distances to work, however many people are driving short distances, and trains use less pollution per person, and can be used more to take care of longer distances.
Cars have everything to do with people being fat, they encourage a lifestyle where you drive up the road. I saw a video of Copenhagen, Denmark, in fact I saw many and only ever saw 1 fat person, and they drove a car.
@KrunchyJD first thing it was Tsunami that caused that reactor fall apart not nuclear material or human neglect. That reactor has good safety track record and the radiation was not much of threat as the people made it to be. If that was the case we would react the same a Chernobyl and that was caused by neglect. Also Japan and the U.S. are not the Russians.
