  • What did he says at the begining?

  • he says ``well he dont think much about elvis then ;P

  • he is the guitar god

  • Im sure this was at Ronnie Scotts in London in 1998ish - I wa there - the drummer is Ed Bicknell the old DS manager, the other guitarist is Steve Phillips - and the bass player is marcus ???? - it was an awesome night - bottle of red wine and MK

  • jes it is Ed Bicknell a awsome manager and drummer;-)

  • Knopfler with his Les Paul cannot be beaten in my opinion!

  • this is one of my favorites

  • Is that Chet Atkins in the background?

  • Is not Chet Atkins. He was already dead when this concert took place.

  • Ye I saw that just a second after I wrote the comment :-) Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Chet die 2001? This is 1998?

  • If this is 1998 you're right. Chet did died in 2001, July 1st, I guess. I just know that Chet passed away the very same day Mark Knopfler played in concert in Lisbon, Portugal. I was there.

  • Ye it's so sad because Chet was such a wonderful man and musician, but we all die. You should check out "Tommy Emmanuel" since he also wa a good frien of Chet and inspired by him. He has devloped Chet's playingstyle to something evven more brilliant :-)

  • Tommy said in an interview, long ago, he plans to record an album with Mark Knopfler one day...

  • Hey Leksingen... =)

In the background is Brendan Crocker, fron Nottin' Hillbillies band.

Mr. Emmanuel is a very talented musician, i love his "Angelina".

And well, yes, we all die but...

...someone leave very big holes when he's gone.

And the sensation the world is worse than before, more sad.

That's what i felt 4 the great Chet...

  • Amazing.

  • The song was written in 1990, and so, Mark had it sitting around for a while, i guess he felt it did'nt fit any album, but it is on a b-side.

  • Because it's on the Sailing to Philadelphia solo MK album

  • why dit this amazing song only made it to the single, and not to the album?????????????

  • I'd like to know where this was filmed.

  • I'm not sure...It's probably was in London at Ronnie Scott's July 31, 1998

  • Or in Glasgow at the King's theatre around 1998. I was there but I am not sure it's the same concert.
