i am currently studying any/all ethnography about SL for an anthropology essay, this helped a lot. is there any chance i could get a copy of Dareth Denimore ethnography?
Excellent video. Thanks for publishing this. I do believe that relationships in virtual reality need to be taken more seriously by the world (and by explorers of SL). The hearts behind the avatars belong to REAL people and can be broken as easily there as anywhere off the grid. The state of 'Bliss' can be obtained in virtual reality as well.
Brett, thank you again for putting the event together at WSU. It was indeed a bold move & hopefully will set the tone for much more summits to come, legitimizing documenting and reporting virtual worlds via machinima or otherwise!
Loved it. And so very true about the digital divide also showing up in Second Life. It is (very much) a priviledged platform. And when M Linden speaks about 'engagement' and international expansion, I cannot help but wonder - where, and WHY, is Africa just not on the map...
thank you for those kind comments. with horror have i noticed that in the credits i misspelled the word "safe" (i typed save instead). indeed, it is "safe" to say that i will from now on be a bit more diligent in the copy editing part of the process. darn web 2.o!!!
(^ like the make love not war movement free love stuff taking place on college campuses of the past: most barely maturing students between 15 and 30 will be focusing part of their learning cureball on social settings and getting ..ehem. noticed in whatever way they can.
thank you nitwacket, really appreciated. i am moving the music from cruxy to projectopus, where the old out of print stuff can be purchased. soundtracks and regular albums are mostly avail at iTunes and amazon.

Great video, Drax! Glad you could make it out to WSU for this event. Love the images of your avatar running amok in Pullman :)

Interesting report. I'm still troubled by the attempt to segregate the adult industry.
From a free speech perspective, it's alarming. From a practical business perspective, I think it's a death sentence.
But I will be watching more of your stories.
