It's been a while, just wondering how do you still rate these tires? - I assume you replaced them since this video, did you get the same tires again or go with anything else?
@rgaufman The ninja was a good bike but the hyosung is just nicer to ride. It has a 17L fuel tank, V-twin, 5 speed, stock 150" rear tire, and I like the overall look even better. No fairings, like the older suzuki sv650. Took it for a ride with my friend on a kawa 1300cc and we cruised at about 150kph. Handled great lots of passing power. In the city its a blast it will rip through traffic no problem.
an update? any problems? I am looking to get the same size, but in a michelin! However, I would appreciate any info on whether it makes a difference with the manufacturer (since dunlop has it on it's website) or not as long as it is the same size?
And do you get any pinching on the sides of the rims?! Your feedback is appreciated!
The 150/60 ends up being abit wider then the 150/70 so even though there's room still when I ride two up I want that extra room for flexing, with the 60 pro it will rub if you ride with a passenger.
The 150 is alittle taller then the old 130 and it hasn't had any negative effect on handling. If you are racing on a track you then you might notice "flickability" difference's but for everyday riding and WOT fun it's perfect. I haven't notice anything while leaning it feels more stable to me in corners and definitely riding on roads with lots of cracks, the 130 would follow those cracks and feel like dogtracking but the 150 rolls straight through.I recommend this mod to everyone.
Yes it's the original rim,3.5" if you go to dunlop tires website and search the gt501 150mm you'll read it is recommended for this rim,I will make another video soon of a walk around the tire to show all the clearance between the swingarm and rubber.
no adjustments at all, just remember the new tire has to have the recommended rim size of 3.5 to avoid any sidewall flex problems. I used the Dunlop gt501 150/70/17 and it fits perfect.

I sold this bike earlier this year. Then mid summer I bought a Hyosung gt250. I will make a video and hopefully upload it by this weekend.

pmic2011 2 years ago
do you know what the widest tire that will go on the 250r without having to modify the rear.
thomashm9 2 years ago
I'm not sure,I know I would not go any wider then 150,it rides and looks great.
dean892 2 years ago
I put 140 70/17 rear tire today on my ninja and it feels like much more better handling but I can also feel a slight difference in weight...

Yeah,I don't know why they don't come from the factory with a 150 there's more than enough room and it handles so much better.
dean892 3 years ago
You mean it's so much more stable ;)
SpecialKLSX 2 years ago
I mean it handles better.
dean892 2 years ago
