  • there pull up form is really bad

  • this is really tough to do , respect

  • Isn't the point of a pull up, to use your muscles to get you up.......not momentum?

  • Wow! That shits insane. really in good shape. Good job

  • Respect is due

  • This is pointless... Depends on the goal i guess but for building muscles... I dont get it.

  • Snap City !

  • It's very questionable if this training can bring some positive results in a long run!

  • Fran:

    21-15-9 (Total reps: 90)

    Thrusters (women: 65lbs/ Men 95lbs)

    Pull ups

Score = Time (How fast you complete the workout)

  • Super props, harsh workout and killed it.

  • Fran is the name of the workout. Crossfit names the workouts after women because each workout is a B!tch.

  • squat thrusters are where its at!

  • Haters can hate but not too many people could do what these blokes did

  • @fitchaj

Yes they can, its called conditioning and with time there are people that can do most anything they put there mind to. Trust me they didn't do anything like what you see the first month or two of doing cross fit, It all comes with time.

  • That's my school :D siiiiiiick

  • JBIG7171 you obviously don't know what cheating is because every rep on those pull-ups was cheating......way to sacrifice all form just to go really fast!! lol FYI to people that love crossfit..fast reps do not build muscle faster than slow controlled reps..I don't see the point in this working besides only muscular endurance which honestly is pointless unless your training for a fight..

  • Their thrusters are terible. I´m not saying this is easy I have done this few time.

  • This is crazy! i love it!

  • You guys are dumbasses, they are 45lb plates, theyre just rubber weights. You know, for deadlift or power clean. Have you never lifted weights before? prob not. Great stamina, looks extremely hard. Gunna b doin this for baseball over the next six weeks of school and was nervous and curious

  • First of all, those pull ups aren't "really hard to do", they are doing them because it's easier than a regular pull up. Second, the song sucks. Third, it's still impressive.

  • masakra xd

  • they are using 95lbs not 135lb

  • @stillrob420 The bar weighs an extra 45 lbs. Read a book.

  • @EMace45 no shit

    but those aint 45lb plates

  • Nice vid!

  • lol at the humping pullups..

  • @Revolutionary230 Crossfit is good for maintaining muscle size or gaining if you are NOT a bodybuilder. However, if you are looking for strength moreso than conditioning, there are Crossfit programs taylored specifically towards that end.

  • ANIMALES!

  • Dang, I'm impressed. Been doing crossfit bootcamp for two weeks now. Kicking my butt.

  • They use there legs to swing up for a pull up, but i gotta give it to them, they do have stamina but horrible form

  • @deathwanX Cross fit is about form and technique. Those pullups you say that show terrrible form are done that way on purpose. That is called a butterfly. Crossfit is about momentum moreso than just doing one rep and coming to a stop to repeat. And by the way I just did FRAN this morning and I'd love for all the negative commetators to complete a FRAN set of 21, 15, and 9.

  • Half you guys are coming from a weightlifting / powerlifting / bodybuilding perspective where form & technique is paramount but crossfit training is all about cardiovascular / aerobic / anaerobic intensity first. It is similar to HIIT training.

  • @hawi72 no offense. but crossfit is about form FIRST. if you have bad form, there is no point in doing the excercise. Once you get the form down, thats when you add intensity to it.

  • The stamina displayed here is highly admirable. Great job guys and thanks for posting.

  • this is one of the best types of training. it enhances your power, endurance, stamina and looks

  • A combination of creatine, steroids and loads of cocaine have that effect right?? What's wrong with these guys??? Take a chill pill robo cops!

  • I'm sure those kiping pull-ups are tiring, but what's the point of them? I'm asking honestly. I can't see any real purpose other than begging to pull or tear a muscle.

  • words are cheap. i would love to see these shit talkers try this

  • this is shit..no form..no precision..no peak contraction..just some crap

  • Video was poor quality...if your trying to highlight a workout try using better equipment....and not your buddies 2 mega pixel camera phone

  • phatetic pull-ups

  • @I0o Try this workout with said "pathetic" pullups, and then come back to me.

  • nice lockout on the thrusters....

  • Can all you dikheads put a video up of yourself doing this stuff before you start judging? probably not!..

  • About how much do these guys weigh? 200?

  • was that sub 3:00? fran got destroyed!

  • Kipping doesn't count.

  • Bad execution, this training way can create accident e articular pain.

  • @Maibrather I was just thinking the exact same thing... +1

  • Why would Bromeo kill himself over a hoe. Must have been some bomb sandwhiches.

  • these are great exercises for developing major muscle groups. These 2 are going for time. There is no reason the average guy cant slow down and focus on form as well.

  • unglaublich!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • the guy on the left is not finishing those thrusters full extension- none of those reps count.

  • respect , you guys have crazy strength and endurance!

  • lol who's ever complaining about these 2 animals' forms is full of shit. Hard work is hard work, and they should be commended for it.

  • its not about form its about being explosive

  • @everythangfangas Not about form? This is why I do not do crossfit... form is by far the most important thing when weightlifting. When you tear tendons, develop tendonitis, or have back problems, then you will be sorry.

The reason I do not do crossfit is because I can't keep good form for that many reps, and I want to train for more specific things. The #1 rule of any type of fitness is form!!!!

  • Look, I don't want to take away from how impressive what these guys are doing is. It's super-hard. However, the guy who heads up the training that I'm a part of does not allow us to swing and break form the way these guys are. He's strict about that..

  • Nice form on those SWINGups, also nice form on.. oh wait this is all shitty form! :D straight up

  • why do they use their legs do perform pull ups?

  • (I only checked left guy) LoL, I did count and a stayed at 0 of counting the correct Thrusters.

None of them were at full extension.

Pull-Ups I couldn't see very good, it didn't seem to be chin over bar, but I can't confirm that.

So work on the correct movements. After that I may be impressed ;).

  • these guys are not fucking human haha this is insane!

  • @ 0:35 is this what they call herk and jerks? Good grief it's amazing what people will do to their bodies in the name of "fitness" ................. and pay to do it to themselves!!!!

  • hÎhi_âNy_gUYs_wÂÑt_tö_chät_wIth_mé

  • This was the first Crossfit workout I ever saw online. It is extremely challenging. Crossfit is awesome.

  • fuck that

  • amazing

  • Really cool ! But dont you think the main reason theese guys are able to do this is beacuse its a tad to easy for them. Like i personaly know when im nearly dead beacuse when i clean and press for instance the bar will littraly feel like 10000tons and take ages to lift above my head. Theese guy obz fitter then me but still i personaly think this is a little light weight for them :)

  • awesome

  • better do spartan workout.....

  • these guys have amazing stamina. i did this training for the 1st time in my life 2 weeks ago. time ws 4:35. that ws much harder than i ever thought it will be! people, who can do that in a short time like these fit guys, around 2:40 is more than captivating. that's the next step fr me, to reach that fitness level!

have a fantastic workout fr everybody!

    greetings from Hungary!:)

    music is great as well;)

  • that was amazing

  • faaaaaaaaaaarken intense!

  • I don't do crossfit and I don't even know what FRAN stands for but did notice that there is a lot of body movement when they do pull-ups. I am a triathlete and only use both squats and pull-ups as power improvement exercises for my training but isn't it harder when you have to keep your body still? Anyway, much respect to these guys, there aren't many people with the skill to do this and much less that can compete in a competition sush as this

  • @MrBozo88 You are completely right, but the focus on the kipping pull-up is because it's more akin to gymnastics which is a large component of CrossFit. Also, if you're going to do a workout for time, you need to do them quickly and that's hard to do with dead-hang pullups. There are some workouts that prescribe dead-hangs.

Fran is also one of the original CrossFit female trainers if I am correct.

  • @bigbrun13 Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I checked out a few other crossfit video's and decided to try one of the, dare I say, easier routines. I took a buddy that's into weight training with and with a combined effort we both finished after hours of struggling and we both had to put in leave as we we're too stiff to go to work the next day. Never thought I'd say this but I'll stick to triathlons, they're easier. Hahaha

  • @MrBozo88 Haha yeah they are difficult. I play football so I can't drop below 245 and thus do not do these very often, but after college I want to serve and plan to use it to drop the weight (along with diet of course) and get in a different kind of shape. I have never heard anything being easier than triathlons...

  • @bigbrun13 I used to play rugby and swim and with training for those i did sprint distance triathlons which aren't too difficult. But since I started training for Ironman I had the illusion that there is nothing more difficult but I was wrong I see. But football seems just as difficult cause if I understand correctly, you guys play for like 5 hours or something.

  • @MrBozo88 Those are kipping pull-ups. The purpose is to increase the power output (same distance as a regular pull up, but done faster) and turn the pull up into a functional exercise (where the whole body must work together to make it work).

  • "Fran"

    21-15-9

    Thrusters 95# barbell

    pullup

  • yes there are standards and regulations, FRAN is crossfit workout that is used in competition, those are kipping pullups which makes the intensity twice as much as regular pullups and those thrusters are one of the hardest workouts you can do, no one should say anything about this workout unless they are an actual crossfit athlete or has done it.

  • @gneuer0316 hey buddy, i have done this workout...i do crossfit....i didn't say anything bad about the workout or the athletes...learn to actually read the posts before you respond

  • Kid on the left isn't finishing his reps. No head through on thrusters.

  • Comment removed

  • @BackSquat42 I know who he is. Didn't recognize him in the video. His name doesn't give him exclusion from performing proper repetitions does it? It is common knowledge you need the head through on anything overhead for it to count. I.E. ears in front of arms. At the very least even with.

  • amazing workout, nicely done, much respect!

  • Hard work

  • Guys what´s the name of the song? :O It´s awesome... ;)

  • @Pili117 it's a versions of Jolene, this one is by The White Stripes. The original was Dolly Parton.

  • @ChrisL101 Cheers mate ! ;)

  • well said

  • I'll be impressed when I see them doing full pull-ups instead of that whimpy barely get your chin over stuff. A pull-up is when your collarbone is level with the bar guys! If I can do this workout like that, they should be able to as well. Thats all Im saying.

  • @WNB333 I ll be impresses when I see you post a video of you doing that same thing with your "proper pull up form"

  • the point of kipping is to get the reps knocked out and get the fastest time possible dead hang take to long and crossfit is timed remeber so why take longer if you can make it shorter plus those thrusters worked their back who cares about the dead hang pullups lol

  • thanks, but no thanks :P

  • o my fran, one of the biggest bitches there is- although i would say Linda is the worst.

To everyone who has never tried this program- do it. I am a high school senior and my junior year before starting crossfit i weighed in at 230lbs- a few months later i packed on the muscle and weighed in at 260 lbs. I am now being recruited by Big 10 colleges for track and field.

Its crazy the strength/ athleticism you will gain from crossfit.

  • That actually looks really freekin hard whoa!

  • Head through the window....

  • dobre supe, nadjavam se da e chisto (bez steroidi govorim )

  • @FitnessExpertise kipping isnt really better for for abdominals. It helps your core a little bit but not really the abs. i just think kipping takes away alot of the back. and why i do pullups is to develop a strong back. thats why dead hangs are more effective in my opinion. but crossfit is about functional strength so i guess kipping is more effective for these guys. i still think it looks ugly as hell.

  • @TheNtg3399 Im with you man! I got a buddy who is totally brained washed by cross fit. He thinks kipping is were its at. I told him during one of our back routines to get 15 reps from the dead hang. he got 8! I think kipping is a good way to maximize the effort maybe towards the end of a set if your struggling but not to start off. Cross fit is tuff! No disrespect!! You guys brought back the kettle bell! THANK YOU!

  • LOL. Those pulls are fucking embarrassing. Talk about poor technique. This is the worst I've ever seen. Particularly the guy on the right. He was probably using everything BUT his lats to pull himself up

  • @weepaul666 pull ups even. i'm a spaz

  • @weepaul666 in crossfit they prefer that style of pulls. they say its more functional because more muscles are working, i personally dont use them but thats not the point. its not bad form, its meant to look like that

  • Impressive, these guys are machines

  • that song fuckin sucks.

  • absalutely the best workout ever. if you can run thru sets like that, you are in great shape. no dwt !

  • I think kipping pullups are ugly as hell.

  • @TheNtg3399

    +1

    girls are doing better

  • amazing, both guys

  • What fucking annoying music!!! Whoever the hell is crooning that shit has no voice. I'm not watching this with such disgusting off key music.

  • been doing the squat thrusts...those are tough. nicely done

  • to all the ppl talking crap about the form...make a video showing proper form and do all the reps

  • ...why are they doing more than 12 reps?

  • Fran is typically 21-15-9 reps of Thrusters 95lbs, and Pull Ups

These guys are phenoms doing it with 135lb Thrusters

    and Under 3mins is redunculous.

From a coaching perspective...I would have made them touch sternum to bar to ensure proper height on pull ups...they are a bit short on range of motion but I fully understand....

have done Fran a number of times....I feel their pain

  • ha wow. i go to this school RBV

  • ive been doing crossfit for a few weeks now, and ive never done fran yet but from wut ive heard from everyone it is horrible. Usually they dont race but they try to compete with each other to get the better time, since im new to it my trainer will let me break if i need for a few seconds, but with people whove been doing it a while hes more strict on. Its deff. a great workout but ur exhausted afterwards, and u get more of a workout in crossfit then u do at a regular gym

  • im only a small guy and ive just tried this and nearly died with 40lbs!!!!!!! i will persist with it. ive been doing curls and shoulder presses but noting compares to this! class! much respect.

  • @bizzyfingers they will start u at a easier weight for u, and as u build up muscle u can increase the weight u use

  • I've never seen such a disgraceful use of kipping and momentum. Then again, most crossfit enthusiasts seem to sacrifice form for speed; I am amazed there aren't more injuries in crossfit circles if this is how they work out. speed is good, stimulates your type II fibres and stops you being sluggish but speed should be combined with muscular force and good form not this momentum bullcrud.

  • @Caundrolis disgraceful? i call it functional.

  • guy on right has terrible chin up forum

  • they are doing their pull-ups wrong. They should be using their lats. As far as the weights, they need to stop dropping them and use controlled movements versus the chaotic ones they are doing.

  • Wow, what terrible form. They are begging for injury down the road. I can't believe any intelligent human would think that all those jerking motions could be anything but harmful. And to preempt all those that are going to say that they need to jerk to train fast-twitch fibers, that is a myth; do some simple research.

  • Damn these guys are beasts.

On a side note, I used to go to this school / worked out in the this gym. Funny that I randomly found it.

  • I did a workout called the Monster. I nearly died. I was finally able to see how weak I actually was. I had been doing th wrong things for so long. After the Monster, I dont do bicep curls, I dont do benchpress. I really work now.

  • crosSHIT

I wanna puke whenever I see crossfitters actually. who needs to work out.

Without doubt the worst form, technique etc etc etc I ever see on youtube has to do with Crossfit.

    The Mcdonalds of fitness.

  • whats this song called?

  • heads through the window

  • animalssss

  • Check my page for Westcheter CrossFit

  • tried this and fuck me, this shit it hard, i did it on my 3rd try, seriously though try it before you rip it =)

  • Puking after a workout is no real indication of it's efficacy! For instance, went downhill on my Fireblade doing 150 km, quite suddenly. The drop churned my stomach, I pulled up and puked on the side of the road. Does that mean I had a great workout?

  • @dehgcye The goal isn't puking. Quite the opposite. Puking is an inconvenience that gets in the way of training. You will be pushed at CrossFit harder than you ever have before. But you have to know your limits and train to extend those. To push yourself to puking is not beneficial.

  • @ChrisL101 I'm guessing you didn't quite catch onto the sarcasm here. No shit the goal isn't to puke, but you Crossfitters fail to realise that anyone can work 'harder than you ever have before'. It is NOT exclusive to Crossfit. It has taken bits and pieces from various successful elements of training and mishmashed them together in an unstructured, biomechanically unsafe manner, with a complete lack of the application of current science

  • @ChrisL101 There are forms of High Intensity Training that do not involve massacring your knees. In fact, it is called HIT (high intensity training). Crossfit, though better than 99.9% of what people do in the gym, is relatively unsafe.

  • what are you basing this statement on?

  • @ChrisL101 I think you missed the point Chris.

  • great musle endurance

  • 100 percent guaranteed to cause injury - they are overtraining the same muscle groups again and again which to me is pointless. Why not have a 3rd or or 4th excercise to add balance?

  • But most crossfit routines last only some 10-15 minutes.. and you shouldt crossfit more than a few times per week.

  • This is just one work out in crossfit there are hundreds of differtent work outs that uses muscles people didn't even know they had before they tried crossfit, so NO you are not just using one muscle group with you do crossfit

  • Had to post again..

    @ knawtee1one

I dont understand the comparison with a military hell week. Makes no sense.

  • I am a Master Fitness Practitioner, and all though I understand the benefits from doing a workout like this, I am more concerned with their poor form. Who is watching these guys?? The people talking in the back? I'd like to know who made up this program and what else it entails. If you show a video you need to make sure that people are doing your program with correct form so that others don't mimic what they see. I'm embarrassed to see this as someone in the fitness industry.

  • If you're referring to their form on the pull ups these are Kipping pull ups.

  • @FitStar99 it is called crossfit training. This FRAN routine is the benchmark workout of the 'sport' , like is golf it is the .. whatever its called lol. They are going for time, not for form.

  • @FitStar99 I agree 100% but what weeties packet did you get your "master" fitness practitioner certificate in. Is that a masters degree? Or is that like a jedai master.

Fuk it from now on Ill call myself a a Master as well!

  • @FitStar99

I agree. Their form is not good. A shame that these ppl who have obviously achieved a fairly high lvl of fitness havent had their execution adjusted. A lack of good spotters and no-bullshit feedback seems to be a widespread crossfit risk atm..

  • man this is a tough workout

  • Heavy

    burning

    discipline

    mental strenght

I have respekt voor these man

  • I take it 135lb includes the bar?

  • yea.. why wouldn't it?

    they are using 95# though

  • @ knawtee1one

I don't understand why you lash out? The challenges you are describing are obviously hard, but cross-fit offers the possibility for the average man to make a big leap from ordinairy workouts to workouts which are far to the more extreme scale of the workout spectrum.

  • The reason fighters don't do cross-fit is because cross-fit is an all-round method. However, cross-fit can easily be adapted to suit the needs of fighters. And yes, cross-fit is nothing new. It can be traced back some 2800 years, however, it is difficult to assess if it actually resembled our contemporary cross-fit routines. However, the science behind it has only recently been fully mapped (most of the serious science on this was actually done already in the 90s).

  • Lots of mma fighters use crossfit. The most notable being BJ Penn and Chuck Liddel

  • Why don't we see elite fighters like Floyd Mayweather Jr. w/ great stamina, cardio endurance, great coordination etc. - why does he not listen to U guys & do cross fit? Fuk this fad. Do some real workouts that are relevant and dynamic . . . join the Marine Corps, do BUDS, Special Ops trng., anything challenging. And pls note: The US military has been doing integrated, dynamic workouts long before this fad existed. So to you punks claiming the military uses cross fit - get your shit straight!

  • You realize that Crossfit is designed by military personnel?

  • @Inkarn8 greg and lauren glassman are not in any way synonymous with military personnel

  • What a joke! Try doing a 28 mile hike w/ 60 lbs. of military equipment w/ only 1 meal & 2 hours of sleep. Then do a six mile obstacle course the next day w/ 1 or 2 hours of sleep & very little food. Thereafter, free fall with 75 lbs. of equipment into a DZ for a live fire exercise at night, hike (road march) another 20 miles; run 6 miles the next day, lead an ambush under sleep deprivation, etc. Do this for 2 "hell weeks" - then be prepared 2 do it for 1 year as a special forces candidate.

  • @knawtee1one

LOL, everyone's a badass on the internet, if you knew anything about crossfit you would know that they claim that they got the workout's from military type training not that the miltary got it from them. If you were really a military man you would show a little more respect for these men even if you didn't agree with what was said, your just a poser!

  • The difficulty depends on how often you incorporate cardio workouts into your regular weight training. For example this was this first time I heard about cross fit but having already exercises in this fashion it wasnt difficult. It would be for the person just starting out this kind of workout tho. so it just takes time but its a good workout nonetheless. Personal, I use 5 minutes rounds of full contact shadow sparring in between each 3 set as shown in the vid, then do the 3 set again.

  • Yes... it makes it "anerobic". The heart is at its max bpm so it increases your aerobic capacity very quickly compared to conventional training. Good fun but hard hard work.

  • i would like to ask. In crossfit u r doing the exercises all in the row without calming down for a min ?

  • this IS amazing... anyone who ever went to the gym can vouch for it. I've been working on muscle mass for 4 months, 4 days a week 2 hours. I'm not even close to this.

Had my first cross-fit training today haha...

  • what's the name of the song?

  • ever notice how every cross fit trainer are not very big at all, usually scrawny, crossfit is a joke sure you get stronger but you overtrain and dont gain any size, why not gain size and get stronger! Plus those are a lame exuse for a chin up

  • @cWo771 The purpose of crossfit is to develop all areas of fitness. Just focusing on building strength and size runs counter to the whole idea of crossfit. Plus, the kipping pull-ups are intended to build your core and cardio, not upper arms. Try them some time, they're not as easy as they look.

  • They need to get the bar to their chest on the kips

  • i do somethin similar to this at home but with dumbells as oppose to a barbell and i do burpees right after... SO its the squat/shulder press combo, straight into the pull ups and followed by the burpees... Im a boxer and trust me when i say its a brutal workout.... Cross Fit is very good for cardio endurance, as well as total body work out.

  • This video was my reason to start CF in 2006. What great times.

  • look like a killer workout might have to try this one out!

  • The guy closest to the camera is not doing proper thrusters! His arms are not fully extented when the bar is over his head. Good time though.

  • damn fran, finished it on the WOD yesterday at 4:43. kicked my ass!

    love crossfit!

    off to do elizabeth
