  • Best.. Game.. EVER.

  • Again that damn camer view in "helicopter style". What a shit.-.-'

  • We need a 3d planescape 2 with modern graphics BUT also having a similar role-playing/story quality and aesthetics. Yeah, i know, it sounds like a dream from an outer plane

  • @PanLamda Do NOT give them ideas, they already destroyed Fallout.

  • @PanLamda It sounds like shit, planescape is an isometric rpg.

  • @PanLamda No, no we do not. I have seen the horrors that happens to legendary games Fallout 3 is a example of this so is what EA was going to do to with their Remake/Series Reboot of Ultima 4: Quest of the Avatar, think crappy combat centered JRPG with the Avatar looking almost exactly like the main character from the 2009 Prince of persia thankfully they canceled it.

  • @Evilmonkey66699 I have also seen the horrors of what is considered today to be a hardcore RPG. Dark Souls...I can just cry seeing all those nerds who think anything with stats and levels is an RPG. I wonder how long until some people say COD is an RPG because you can level up and get xp and shit. This planet is shit

  • I have had this game sitting on my pc for the past 2 years and still not had the time to play it. :(

  • love the shirt

  • I like the Dak'Kon chick.

  • What a conversation! :D

  • What can change the nature of a man?

  • @TheDeistAngle Death.

  • @DelMann2 Love

  • You *fought* your way out of the Mortuary? Man, that's... wrong.

  • Never seen a Critical miss though, just thought i should point that out

  • @DeanGetYourWings

They happen all the time, but they don't seem to do anything except make the characters swear.

  • Hey guys, i made a steam group dedicated for Planescape PC gamers. We have a weekly Planescape chat. Just search "PLPCG"in steam, and join :).

  • @Omegawolfstudios is it still up or not?

  • the word epic doesnt really define this game

  • " . . . engaging on an intellectual level which most games aren't." Yes. And an emotional, philosophical, and moral level as well.

  • " . . . engaging on an intellectual level which most games aren't". Yes. And an emotional, philosophical, and moral level as well.

  • Did you just punch Dhall? Shame on you!

  • who kills dhall gets his magic pen,,, good for magicinas

  • @dustdust7 And Annah. WHAT THE HELL?

  • I loved this game still have it

  • The people who want to play the game one advice. Keep the orb that you get in the beginning, dont sell it dont throw it away. :D

  • @SuskenHizamura ha ha thanks for the advice; gonna download the game from GoG!

  • @SuskenHizamura i cried like a bitch when this thing had opened in the end :(

  • @YzyRpAToR

Ha Ha yea the game in moments this game is like that :P

Well its kinda coool my first run in the game i threw that thing away.

    / Spoilers/

Who would have thought that the spheare is actualy all youre power from previouse lives and when u absorbe it you allmost become a God :P

  • what orb? do you receive it after leaving the mortuary?

  • @Swoftu Search this dead-end to uncover the Bronze Sphere that Pharod has asked you to obtain. Once you've brought it to Pharod and left for the Tenement of Thugs with Annah, shadows will kill him in his courtyard. Later on, be sure to return to Pharod's Court to grab the Bronze Sphere from his corpse. You can use the Bronze Sphere at the end of the game for an insane experience reward.

    That is in Drowned nations.

  • @Swoftu And it has ben a looooog time since i have played it so i dont remember. There was a guy from who you learn magic. i Think he gives the orb u need, or he explains that u need it..... Sory realy cant remember,,,,

  • Since there realy is nothiong to play these days i belive it will be time to instal this again :)

  • Nobody will ever make a game like this one.

  • Why would you kill Dhall :(

  • @WCarnation

    He welcomes True Death.

  • Imagine an MMO, that's done RIGHT, in this setting that crosses ALL of the Planes and every location this game doesn't cover... :)

  • What can change the nature of a man? Playing through Planescape Torment, that's what..

  • Did this or Baldur's Gate come out first? Because whichever did, the other is a total rip off.

  • @MicahTheZombie Baldur's Gate came out a year before, but they are far from ripoffs of each other, they just look similar because they are made on the same engine, thus is why Baldur's Gate 2, Icewind Dale, and Icewind Dale 2 also look very similar as well.

  • this and final fantasy 7 are the best games ever.

  • bad graphics

  • @rockbandgd1 You know it's like retro, right?

  • @rockbandgd1

Wow, you're stupid. This game came out in 1999.

  • @rockbandgd1 LOL! dude its a 11 year old game (nearly 12) your kidding yourself mate.

  • @rockbandgd1 Yeah but the games now have good graphics with a complete trashy story, music, gameplay new games are a load of shit.

  • @h0lyh4ck3r I usually dislike ppl who talk about good graphics cauz i share your opinion. New games usually have good graphics and story, gameplay and everything else sucks, but not all of em. The Witcher for example, had an epic storyline and fuckin awesome npcs. There are bunch of good games out there. But in RPG genre the old ones are the best.

  • @DeatgMagnet I have to admit I have The Witcher that and Oblivion are the only two that are actually any good.

  • @h0lyh4ck3r Oblivion sucks. "Vanilla" Oblivion that is. But we shouldn't give Bethesda credit for the work of the modders.

  • @zpucek No wait think about Bethesda came up with the amazing storyline and side quests and they invented the entire world of oblivion not modders and for the time when it was out it the graphics were mind blowing now they look standard and so people are trying to upgrade it.

  • @h0lyh4ck3r The storyline was actually one of the worst i ever heard. Some side quests were interesting tough. The combat sucked. THE VOICE ACTING IS HORRENDOUS. The world was bland and uninteresting. Every forrest, meadow looked the same. The animation was terrible. Ruins and caves were all the same except maybe the layout changed. So no, oblivion definitely isn't a good game. The modding community fixed some problems, but as i said Bethesda shouldn't gain credit for it.

  • @zpucek The storyline still had a few plot twists unlike Call Of Duty where it is just violence for the sake of violence which get's boring after 2 minutes of play. The combat I agree needs revising. Yeah definatly voice acting is terrible the lip-sync never kept in tune with the voice and they were all over the place. For it's time the world was good. Animation definatly needs changing everytime I ducked I thought he was trying to take a crap.

  • @zpucek But it could've done with some changes the thing I did not like was the leveling system it was one of the worst I had ever seen. The modders fixed some of it but not all of it. Then out came Fallout 3 which you cannot complain was better than Oblivion in almost every way. People say they should use Unreal for V but I don't think they should since then it would just like every other crappy game that has been made with Unreal Gears was bland and boring, Turok worst shooter ever.

  • @h0lyh4ck3r I didn't say anything about Fallout 3. I think it was much better than Oblivion, tough it still needed a little more work. At least they fixed the voice acting.

  • @zpucek Sorry I meant cannot complain about but i'm glad you agree I think Liam Neeson and Ron Perlman were great choices for the game it could do with a little more spit and polish I mean the water ripples were better but the water it self seriously need's to be revised. Fallout New Vegas I do not think should have been released as an entire new game but more of an add-on for Fallout 3 but still New Vegas had a refined combat System that I absolutely adore.

  • @h0lyh4ck3r Fallout: NV was too big to be released as an add on.

  • @rockbandgd1 stupid comment

  • i started this on 4 different occasions. didnt like it then. but i played through it and do not regret it. best game ive ever played

  • ohh i almost forgot... it took 5 years to translate to our language... (hungarian) :D

    ...5 !! :)

  • ...dante's - divina comedia in book...

    ...waking life in film...

    ...planescape torment in game...

  • One of the best stories i have ever played. I think i'll download and play that again just for the good old times.

  • Does Torment have LAN or any other mp mode?

  • @Margalus89 Does not

  • @DelMann2 ok thanks, installed it meanwhile :)

  • @Margalus89 I hope you'll have great time playing, because this game is an art, an entertainment you'll not forget about. (strong words from a man who finished game few days ago, but it's true :)

  • @DelMann2 yeah i know dude, i had the luck to "grow" playing games like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale etc. when i was 10-11 and other kids were playing Pokémon. I had Planescape Torment too but there wasn't the italian translation and for the big mole of text this game features i couldn't enjoy it so i waited the right moment..and that moment has come :)

  • Been there, done that, loved it. And of course still own my original 4 disc retail copy. Also check this magnificent Chris Avallone interview by Matt Barton (blacklily8 in Youtube) Matt Chat 23: Planescape Torment /watch?v=Js_T4cxnMPI Matt Chat 62: Chris Avellone's Early Days /watch?v=UCCuxo5YDkc Matt Chat 63: Planescape Torment with Chris Avellone /watch?v=MWEl0IQm670 And please, tell all your friends about Matt's channel. He doesn't get nearly as much attention as he should.
  • One of the best and darkest games I've ever played. It will hold a perpetual spot in my cd rack.

  • The best "real" crpg I ever played . Amazing story , world and great dialogues .

I think Ill install that , its been a few years now since I played that :)

  • PLAY HEROES 5 THATS SOMETING GOLD

  • Great game. Hope someday we get another game like it. Got some footage on my channel if anyone is interested in seeing more of the game.

  • Almost similar to Baldurs Gate : Shadows Of Amn.

    I love both of em.

  • "Did you hear anything, Cube Hero? Neither did i!"

  • I never liked this game too much even since it was released, but It sure is a classic, and one of the best out there.

  • If I had a bunch of money, I would go out and buy the PS:T licence from whomever owns it. I'd put together a team and have a sequel made (or perhaps I'd give it to Bioware, I mean they're the devs behind the BG series afterall, and that's gotta count for something, right? ;) ). And I'd have it made PC-exclusive! And then... I'd probably never have it published, cause anything short of the original PS:T's magic would be a blasphemy to the franchise, and I wonder if any dev can pull it off anymore

  • He's got a Dothack t-shirt, where do buy those.

  • BEST.... RPG.... EVER!

  • funny fact: as I bought this game the first time II had 3x CD 3 and 1x CD4 in the case ^^

  • Baladursgate,IceWind Dale, PlanEscape they are all real RPG games :D

  • @forceablenton1 Baldurs gate was a hack and slash game with RPG trappings, the story was nice but there was no real roleplaying going on there. Icewind dale was alright but more of a multiplayer focused Baldurs Gate game. Planescape is the only RPG you real mentioned, genuine roleplaying choices to make. Minmaxing could cost you a lot in character terms. The are very few REAL rpg computer games this, fallout, ultima and Arcanum are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

  • The gratest rpg of ever, absolutely!

  • I have had this game since it came out. I was cleaning the garage last week and found it, and decided to give it a try. I love it. It's been sitting there all these years.

One good thing is that my monitor is now a 40" HDTV and is run through the stereo, compared to a 19" CRT that I would have played it on then.

  • This game is, along with MYST II: Riven, is pure art. It's an interactive book.

  • old school games ftw!

  • 90's RPG's we're so much better than the dumbed down crap we get now.

  • @qwertyasdasd1

final fantasy x anyone? eh, eh :D

i just now started playing this game. can't wait to see how planescape turns out.

  • will i like this game if i'm not

    ...old?

    i'm 15.

  • @RealLolIndustries You will love it. It plays basically the same way Dragon Age would play. Except it's a top down older style view (like fallout and baldur's gate) except it doesn't really focus on combat. It's extremely story, dialogue and puzzle focused. It plays like an interactive novel. If you don't like reading, this isn't for you because the game has enough text to fill a thousand pages..but the story competes with some of the best literature every written so it's well worth the reading.

  • @RealLolIndustries as long as you dont have ADD. I was around that age when it first came out and I didnt get very far at all...played it four years later and it turned out it still is the best game I ever played. If you find it a bit boring or whatever (which if you do, will ONLY be at the start of the game) keep it aside and play it when your a bit older..Im glad I did.

  • You can actually talk your way through this game in its entirety. No other game that I've personally played allows you to do this, I think it's awesome.

  • This game is utterly magic. It transports you, man, it fucking transports you.

  • Arguably the greatest story ever told. That includes books and movies.

  • @Iconoclast12100 dumbest thing anyone has ever said. go gain some culture.

  • @1wildturk1 And why don't *you* go get fucked with an AIDS infected dick.

  • can anyone recommend me old games similar to planescape? (i've already played fallout 1-2, baldurs gate,..etc)

  • @macibax do u know arcanum(patch recommended ) ,dungeon siege 1+2 .icewind dale . The Temple of Elemental Evil

  • @macibax

try Arcanum, it's pretty interesting once you get used to the combat system

  • troika games i wish u would come back

  • How come the animations in this clip look so fluent while mine look pretty choppy if I play it?

  • PLANESCAPE FUCKING TORMENT! FUCK YEAH!

  • This remains my favorite RPG of all time!!!

  • best game I have played in my entire life...seriously

  • @dewitttttt same here and ive played a hell of alot. a masterpiece and the one game that i would never consider selling.

  • this may sound stupid. but planescape is the only infinity game i have never played till this day, even though i always wanted to. i saved it because no good rpgs come out anymore (go away with dragon age, its for idiots!).

i will start playing it by tomorrow. and then i can die.

  • @Herbstgespenst Dragon Age def isnt for idiots. For a long time i have been waiting for RPG that would be similar to Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale or Planescape and Dragon Age did it. Nowadays RPGs really suck, we all know it. But Dragon Age and The Witcher still hold up the flag and give us hope that developers are still able to do some decent RPGs.

  • @DeatgMagnet is The Witcher so good as someone sayed? I never tryed it!

  • @MrJazz86 The Witcher has the best story ive seen in RPG games(but thats only what i think). The gameplay is ok, graphics are nice, cool dialogs with npcs, great voice actings...id give Witcher 9 points out of 10, but mainly because of story. If you hate everything about the Witcher then at least story you must like im sure of it.

Its worth a try for sure. ;)

  • @DeatgMagnet really? I didn't knew it! I'll try it for sure thnx... mmh best story for an RPG ever? I think Planescape Torment have it not The Witcher no?

  • @MrJazz86 Well lets say their storys are equally good...or thats what i think if that counts anything lol. I would even dare to say that Witchers story was better than Baldurs Gate 1 or 2 although i like Baldurs Gate more because of party feature and class selection, but Witcher story is really good. As the main character has amnesia(sorta like in planescape) then all ur choices change the world around you and you urself too, so id def would try it out and i hope you will like it.

  • @DeatgMagnet I never played BG1&2,I played only Torment, fallout, mass

effect1&2.I would like to buy Dragon age what do you think? Witcher is better?

I wanna try The Withcer too now that I'm reading these comments

  • @MrJazz86 This is a matter im afraid i cant help you in. Id recommend to get both Dragon Age and the Witcher lol...sry cant help ya out in here. In Dragon Age you get awsome party members and stuff, gearing and leveling might be more fun than in Witcher, but Witchers graphics, story and atmosphere again owns Dragon Age...both have their own goods...id recommend to read or watch some IGN and Gamespot reviwes about both games and then decide wich to get.

  • @MrJazz86 The Witcher is awesome. completely different to PST but has the same feeling of things you do really effect the story. he story itself is nothing compared to PST but then no game is.

  • @MrJazz86 I liked it, the story worked , the combat was very, *very* entertaining, overall id say it's a great RPG.

  • @Felipe550710 Definitely checkout these patches if you are going to take another stab at Planescape Torment. As good as the game is, it has a great number of bugs.

The people at spellhold-studious worked hard to correct mistakes and uncover stuff that was never included into the original game.

  • One of the best games ever, up there with Baldur's Gate and Grim Fandango etc. Best story ever told, awesome characters, the immersion is stunning and the world so goddamn awesome. Also, the only game where high int, wis and cha actually pays of really well since you can talk your way out of most situations, even convincing people they shouldn't exist, etc. An remarkable story unraveled by intelligent puzzles and discoveries, what else could you want?

  • @tenrecc yeah high int/wis is a great experience. like fallout though, it can be funny playing as someone who is braindead :)

  • This is the greatest game ever created in the history of mankind. Seriously, I just started playing this thing last month and it just blows me away, I got rid of all my other games because there is no need, they are now useless, I found the Holy grail of games.. The detail they put into this thing is indescribable

  • I need some decent patches for this game. I got to anna and now I can't level her past level four without an Assertion error. Second The nameless one leveled up until I got him to a level 8 mage then It freezes on the Level Up screen. It is really pissing me off. If any of you have any Ideas Let me know.

  • @NoogLeader Any of you who has problems playing PS:T under Windows XP and higher, google for "Infinity Engine Mods". You'll end up on the modlist of the Pocket Plane Group. Check the PS:T section and you'll find both official and unofficial patches to the game. Installing the fan-made patch should solve most - if not all - of your problems.

  • Considering it as Amazon has copies, yet does it even work with Windows 7?

  • This game is like an interactive book, with an amazing tale to tell.

  • it seems that the more powerful pc I have , the older games I usually play

  • lol, very true.

I might also get "Vampires Masquerade: Bloodlines" again, and play the newly released patches/mods for it, yet secretly wishing it lived up to what they initially slated for that game, which was to be a mmorpg!

  • @GrailcodeDotNet

Steam should freaking patch it up so I don't have to tell my PC to pretend it has only 2 gigs of ram...

  • @rjesensky No matter how many new PC's I get it doesn't make my old DOS games look any better!! What gives!! :-p

  • @rjesensky Ah, but also, the more powerful PC you build, the older games get =]

  • @rjesensky haha same here man. New games mostly suck ass

  • @rjesensky lol yeah i know what you mean. new games are just suck it seems compared to the days when developerc cared about stuff more than just graphics. PS:T best game ever

  • @rjesensky

I know crazy right? I emulate my NES/SNES/SEGA/ old PC games more often anymore then new games.

I prefer emulation as it clears up all the space those consoles take up...1000+ games gets ridiculous :P

  • @rjesensky great answer man, it's the truth, I changed my graphic card, played mass effect2 and now I'm playing this masterpiece..ohh it's so good

  • @rjesensky hahahaha, I know EXACTLY what you mean dude.

  • @cuplex

    Why did you capitalize exactly?

  • @1990rms Emphasis.

  • @Deagle470

It seems like kind of an unnecessary word to emphasize.

  • @rjesensky Ironic isn't it? The same happened to me. I bought a new pc an I am playing Baldur's Gate XD

  • @rjesensky i think its cause you havea urge to test how good the game is on your more powerful pc like me i play the very first pong game on a corei7 machine

  • @rjesensky Same thing with me dude. It's so ironic. That's why I haven't updated my tower in ages. No point, considering older games are t3h best.

  • @rjesensky Exactly what happens to me. I use to play Oblivion on my old Pentium 4 computer and now after a dual core upgrade I installed Baldur's Gate and Fallout 1

  • @rjesensky haha... i noticed that too :)

  • @rjesensky

thats because as time goes by, modern games are being made more an more for the "casual gamers" (as they are larger market, so more profit)

real gamers have to look back to older titles for any hope of a chllenging game. i love older games, there are some fantastic old titles out there. there are very few modern games which i enjoy.

  • @rjesensky N64 is all you need.

  • @rjesensky that's because it takes skill to play CoD4 online pro style and shit

but it takes balls to play an FPS pro style with just a keyboard

also, sonic the hedgehog told me that late responses are cool, and be honest, would you really argue against a teenage anthropomorphic blue hedgehog?

  • Jerk

  • outstanding classic - I still have the poster with the cover of the game box =]

  • lol he is wearing a dot hack shirt lol

  • its only 11 years old.

  • this is the problem with casual modern day gamers like yourself, all you care about is what you fucking see, dumbass, the game is 11 years old, so get a fucking clue.

  • yeah, gaming since 85, right? and you've still yet to learn that graphics mean very little, what about the gameplay? the sound? the storyline? what makes you think the game looks shit? how about you try playing it before you pass judgement, you fucking dumb tit.

  • @LokizarroX Graphics are important for almost every game, except RPGs. Plus I prefer pretty 2D graphics than ugly 3D graphics.

  • @Tiars666tiamat

the less graphics, the better for me. not even the latest graphics card can beat my imagination...or anyone else's. people become dull when they rely on what they see in front of their eyes too much :)

  • sorry but this is one of the best RPGs ever made don't judge a book by its cover

  • loooool dude age of emipres 1 and Age of empires RoR and Fall out 1 and 2 are old to

but they are still very populair

  • While I agree with the point you're trying to make.. I can't help but think you're a complete dumbass. Stop referring to people as "casual gamers" like it's a fucking crime.. they're games, not everybody has to take it as seriously as some people do. Christ... grow up.

  • are you going to cry or something? no need to get on your high horse Mr Internet Tough Man, I like pissing people off on this site as it is, and I'm the one taking stuff seriously here? "u a dumb ass.. fuckin ell hurr durr"

the point I was TRYING to make is that some of the people that play games THIS Generation feel the need to diss an older a game because of it's graphics, do you understand now?

  • Gametap no longer offers this game. Sad days. I would have payed the online fee for a month ($10) just to get this.

  • @Callmevlad911 you can get it for $9.99 on GOG.com

  • Did you know Chris Avellone hates RPGs?

  • Wow.

I understand that you're nine years old and weren't around to notice that PS: Torment came out a year before Memento, but you could have checked to make sure before you failed at snark here.

  • you were not yet even a sperm in ur father's testis when this game was made.

  • mommento? good one!

  • @Kexlar The story was most likely heavily influence by the book 'Pages Of Pain' written by Troy Denning, one of the few fantasy books ever published in the Planescape campaign setting. It has 'NOTHING' to do with memento.

In fact, Memento was released in 2000, Planescape was released in 1999.
