I kinda think in two layers. The conceptual one Ricky was talking about and the one made of language. It's always the conceptual first and then it is most of the time also "spoken" in thought. It's hard to prevent the second part, but possible. And I think while it is faster it is much more volatile. Meaning such pure conceptual thoughts that aren't put into a sentence(-fragments) are much more easily forgotten again.
