I dont hear about grizzlys being hunted everits not as popular here we have tons of black bear and i thaught it was illegal to hunt grizzlys.. I live in bc we have tons of black bears.
Despite what Mr. Suzuki and others will have you believe, bear populations in British Columbia are very healthy. HSUS needs to worry about things they can change, the bear hunts in BC aren't going anywhere.
The outfitters in Northern British Columbia have 4 bear tags over a period of 5 years and some are NOT successful in harvesting a bear each year. I believe that these wildlife biologisits should get off there computers and cover every square inch of British Columbia to count the amount of bears in that province, they'll find that the grizzly bear population is no where near extinct. Why doesn't HSUS worry about Alaska's bear hunts worry about what's happening in your own country.
I'm pretty sure hunters eat the bear ppl. Unless they skin the bear and leave it's carcass to rot like "sealing" then I'll side with u animal lovers. But if the meat is being consumed then... I'm game.
@1dangerouskarateka I live in B.C. we are now required to harvest all the meat from black bears, I am a hunter but I do not hunt bears. Ask any wildlife biologists who work for the B.C. government " how many grizzly bears do we have in B.C. ? " you will not receive an answer regarding numbers, if you do it will be nothing but lies and misinformation.
Grizzly bear hunting is strictly trophy hunting, you know, pay the outfitters stupid amounts of money then have your photo taken with the bear.
Wow do people really hunt these animals to prove how "manly" they are? Killing a huge bear from a far distance with a gun knowing that if you even got close to it it would kill you easily. Yea thats reaaaal manly (not). I mean if you eat the meat then okay, but all for a trophy?
I think the USA should try stoping the Killing of Animals in there own Country then maybe they have a leg to stand on when talking about Canada like the endangered Rattle snakes they hunt just for there skin Not unlike a Seal but the Snake is not as cute so it is ok give me a break
The argument for stopping the grizzly hunt is only valid if those protesting it are willing to make up for the hundreds of thousands of dollars that it generates for government conservation efforts. The fact is, Grizzly tags, outfitters, liscences, draw entries and hunts are all heavily taxed by the government and pay for a huge part of environmental conservation in BC. I don't have any intent of hunting grizzly, but I'm also not so naive to think it'll help to ban the hunt.
i love how they talk only about grizzly bears the whole video and then they put a black bear at the end. they clearly could not find any more bear pics. but once again it is just the USA tree huggers that know if they said any thing in the states they would be told to suck lemons and go fly a kit. but unfortunately us Canadians allow people to spread their lies around and hope that some one will listen.
I highly doubt the Bear population in BC is endangered. There are enough whiner activists in this country that would cry day and night for the hunt to be abolished if that was the case. Most people simply cant get their facts straight and got nothing better to do than whine and complain about things they don't understand. That being said, a Bear is the only predatory animal i would kill since i could and would eat it. Other than that, i wouldn't hunt an animal that hunts for itself to eat.
remember the bear guy from alaska? He loved the bears too. Look what the bears did to him. Chomp chomp eat eat bye bye bear guy. want to love the bears? find a bunch get naked and run with them try petting them. They are just just big teddy bears give one a hug and a kiss for me. All walt disney animals thumper fawn bambi . The people that made this are liars.
@lotsofmink if u go and try to live with any predatory animal its gunna kill u thats like some one puts a hamburger in front of you and expects u not to eat it if ur hungry
Get your facts straight. The Black Bear and Grizzly Bear populations are stable and well managed by the Province. I put in for my Grizzly L.E.H. this year and look forward to the hunt.
i hate how people think that killing bear is cruel...no on seems to think its cruel when a bear kill 2 kids while they were camping with their family ..its because there are to many bears and they are coming into our cities hunters keep this balance
never heard about the jungle, the world is an entire jungle where we live in! stay away from those bears and they will stay away from us. Kiiling bears is stupid! It's destroying the animals world, our world! Too many bears? Mostly i read from several sources that the bears' population isn't increasing...
hunt for food if you must, or kill an animal that has killed a human or is a real threat. however this senseless killing for fun is so pathetic and pointless
To say that somebody can't talk about something unless they do it, is to implement a false logic. Would it make sense for me to say: Since you do hunt, you can no longer talk about the virtues of not-hunting? Of course not. We are all in this together. Everything is inextricably linked together and a non-hunters voice is as valid as a hunters voice any day of the week.
but alas, i can't change the minds of anti hunters, and they can't change ours. no point in arguing.but we hang animals on the wall to symbolize the beauty of the animal. but if the bears are endangered, then id guess the government would do something. this is just my opinion. BUT PLEASE DONT TALK ABOUT HUNTING LIKE YOU UNDERSTAND IT!
primitive sport, ego trip. don't talk about something you know nothing about. i think the tags should be reduced to 1 bear per mu until the population grows and spreads. and what is that record # of bears taken? we could be overharvesting but what if the estimated population is a lot higher than said? this makes hunting sound cruel. this isn't to prove being a man. and by the way, woman hunt as well. most hunters also harvest the meat of animals as well.
People are disgusting. Hunting for pure sport, to have a trophy in your home is unethical and disturbing. To take a life for sport is utterly wrong on all levels and always will be. Thats what this video is about, hunting for TROPHY'S. An act carried out by disrespectful self righteous arrogant sub humans. If you're hunting for survival its a different story, unless you're required to go into the woods and kill a bear for food to live its completely unnecessary and destructive.
this video is ridicules i went bear hunting yesterday and seen 23 bears in 1 hour and some of which were females with one to three cubs so if there isnt many left i would like to see when the population goes up. do research before you start trying to stop somthing you mdont have a clue about and this video is very one sided very dumb and any body that believes this is just as dumb
i got 2 bears this spring. went out 3 times, seen 10, 11, and 13 bears and never put in more than a few hours hunting each of those days. Meat's in the freezer. Nothing to do with proving manhood.
To many idiots in the world. LOTS OF BEARS IN BC. Always will be. But in order for the bears to survive, they need to learn to respect humans, and hunting does this. On the other side, all that money from bear licenses goes back to the bears in research and jobs for people.
bears are animals, they are not highly intelligent of capable of learning to "respect humans". they are animals, its not like we can teach the whole species of bears to be respectful, geez
Have a little fath in your fish and game dept. If the bears were endangered, they would not be hunting them. Besides, a hunted bear lives people alone.......
well that is definitely not true. if bears were endangered, so many ignorant people would continue to hunt them so that they could prove their man-hood and have a nice bear skin on their floor.
Lets start hunting people too they breed like sewer rats, good for nothing but polluting everything with filth and destruction. Gotta keep that population under control.
if the population is dwindling so quickly then why are the biologists still setting quotas? If it's so low introduce bears, if the hunting is stopped there is no guarantee of protection from development. Where do you think the money spent on these hunts goes? To buying habitat durr
you tree hugers can get bent i hunt most big game such as deer moose elk bear and what not. BC has TOO many bears. and when i get the chance one will be mine too haha. good rug coming up.. get over it you ccant stop it!
this has to stop their not ours to kill yea i mean if we had no food it would be fine but we have plenty of food why do we take t their life to help ours
Well... If any of you whiners would bother to google info. it says the bear population is at an all time high.. Hunting will continue, whining will be abolished..
Omg, I can't believe some of the comments. It's ok to kill bears because the money these beasts pay to hunt them go to an orginization to help the bears. Ridiculous to say the least. I say the killing must stop. The bears are not ours to hunt or kill.
Please don't compare us to Asian countries. All of this is repulsive. But hunts like these occur all over the US as well. The day you see us skinning dogs and cats alive, slaughtering dolphins, raising tigers on horrible farms just to be killed and keeping bears in cages for their whole lives to extract their bile in the most gruesome way.. then you may compare us to Asian countries. Nothing is worse than what goes on there.
Itends you said "don't compare us to Asian countries." why not you guys are not better? look at the seal hunt? look at the wild horses they have no protection at all, unlike here in the states at least we have BLM its not that good but at least its there. Your people go and shot wild horses hunt seals, kill bears cougars and lynx for the fun of it. at least in asia they at least feed it before they kill it.
hahaha omg people get a grip all the money that hunters pay to hunt bears goes to the wildlife research centers to do studies on how to preserve the bear population and all peta does is try to stop hunting and guess what if that happens there goes millions of dollars to help your poor bears and other animals and oo shit i live in L.A. and theres a mountain lion and a bear in my back yard eating my kids how'd this happen oo its peta they stoped the hunting of these animals annow there are to many
frogman, If these bears are dwindling how can you justify killing them for sport or any other reason? Please go back to your cabin and leave the world alone.
are you serious? your logic is well, insane. yes, lets kill endangered animals to preserve them. makes all the sense in the world. hunting is the #1 threat to all endangered species worldwide. they die at the hand of man for absolutely no reason. we've wiped out 90% of THEIR home yet we still continue to go into what little land they have left and shoot them for sport? you need to learn some respect and empathy. eating kids in their back yard? im not even gonna bother with that ridiculousness.
Considering these bears are my favorite animal, it upsets me that some people view them as mere trophies instead of the magnificent creatures they are. I really hope enough gets done about this so that the brutality can end.
I am so tired of all this sick tradition, the seal hunt in Canada and now this. what is wrong with humans that we can't just leave them alone. So sick
This is so sad. It must stop. Just for game or for food, it's still disgusting. Bears are becoming endangered one by one and humans just sit there and watch and just let this happen right now? Oh please, you must GO VEGAN and HELP ANIMALS! Don't shop, ADOPT!
I'd rather eat something that was hunted than slaughtered.
Honestly, what sounds better:
An animal kept in a cage and possibly allowed to somewhere outdoors then shipped in metal vehicles through the elements then, while frightened, forced through a slaughter-house line-up
OR.....
An animal allowed to live to maturity in the wild with freedom who, before they know it (while probably eating a meal, i.e. Grass) they aren't alive.... Con't...
That is true....but i think i'd rather eat neither. But if I had to I would choose animals which were once wild. Either way however, is unfair on the animal, hunting just comes out as the one which is 'more humane' than factory farming.
And besides, what has what you're saying got to do with bears? Do people in British Coumbia eat bears?
Most animals will go into shock and a good hunter will be able to make it virtually painless. As long as the animal is shown respect and uses just about EVERYTHING from the animal (hide, eyes, bones, etc..), there isn't anything wrong with hunting for food.
Personally, I don't eat red meat, but If I was going to, I'd rather it come from the wild then from a hell hole. Wouldn't you?
And, to that point, if I were the hunted, I would prefer being wild, too.

Personally, I don't eat red meat, but If I was going to, I'd rather it come from the wild then from a hell hole. Wouldn't you?
And, to that point, if I were the hunted, I would prefer being wild, too.
Bear hunting is wrong, though.
