Take the concept of inertia, a hockey player can achieve a speed of 25-30 mph, the fastest skaters can go up to 35 mph, a much faster speed than anyone can achieve on foot. Football is way better than hockey, in football you need to learn so many plays, pass the ball, run the ball, make blocks, tackles, kick field goals(which is harder than it looks), get passed blockers to try and sack or tackle the other player, practice a lot, they play in the rain, snow, hail, wind, very hot and very cold.

people are skipping an entire aspect of toughness... sure hockey players go faster on skates so the hits are harder. But what about the toughness of the tackle it self? when you check your just useing your speed and leverage to knock a guy off his balance take out his feet or smash him into a board. Tackling is man on man both people fightint to win at the play and both trying to get the other guy on the ground and either tackled or out of there way.

@PhilZTUB3 lol dude, i was being sarcastic...yes they have skill, but NHL players, hands down, have more talent in general. think about it, anybody can run,i mean unless sombody is disabled somehow, they can run..however not everybody can skate..plus the average play in football is what, like 10 seconds? the average play in hockey is several minutes, non stop, and the hiting is much harder and constant..i garuntee you an NHL player would play football better than an NFL player would play hockey.
