That the most badass fucking Jeep I've ever seen. I lived on Hatteras island (N.C.) for a few months and I can't remember how many people I had to tow out with my Tundra Iforce 5.7. Of course, my tires stayed aired down to 25 on back and 27-30 up front.
i lived on that beach for a month over a summer, i used to get shit unstuck with my bare hands. if you dig a trench for the tires to roll, and spot the driver to make sure the tires don't spin, you can get anything out of sand.
Nice video man! Like the way you have your jeep set up. Always wanted a jeep, but I'll wait till They put in a factory V-8!! :O Those people hook you up with some cash? I love driving my truck on the beaches of the Outer Banks NC.
@rumerboyz I did get a buck or two but I did not ask anyone to pay, they offered. I hear that the diesels are coming out in two years. I'm not sure if its true but I hope so.
All your examples have you pulling trucks out of the beach... it's not even the dunes. Look, I've taken my '07sahara unlimited to Pismo. Minivans and accords are driving on the same stuff those trucks are. A failure on those drivers obviously, but it certainly isn't a great achievement. And they certainly don't look stuck. Now get a truck, out of a sand bowl and you have my congrats. Otherwise, this video is BS
@hyper0mega Wow, someone had there Haterade today. Yes, a lot of the pulls are on or near the beach. Most people get stuck in that area so it tends to be where I find people I can help out. When I come across a truck stuck in a bowl I'll try to record pulling them out for you. I hope you enjoy your jeep. See you on the trail.
@7150285 The video tends not to show the true angle of a slope. The guys with the ATV were afraid of getting cought in the fence next to them. But it is hard to see that in the video. I was just being helpful.
You need to learn how to use that strap. And doing that stuff is great fun until you blow up that Dana 30 front end by hopping those too-big-for-the-hardware tires. As far as that A-hole ranger, ask him to show you something in writing in the park reg's to support his position. That smells like "Kickbacks" from a tow company(ies). Write to the state parks site and ask them. That way you don't have to deal with Officer 'Tude.
@powndpuppy Dana 44 to be exact. With the strap I am limited by the owner of the vehicle that I am pulling. Not everyone wants to be jerked out. This strap is also not that type of strap, it's a cheepy. The nice straps are built for a running start.
I tried several straps and tow ropes over the years. Now I use the Smittybilt CC120 Snatch Strap - 17,000 lb cost around $50 bucks and works for most the vehicles in your video. It really works great in Pismo/Oceano dunes, because it acts like a huge rubber band. Less wear and tear on your vehicle. You really don't need to spin your wheels when pulling someone out if you let the strap do the work. Go for show, but not go...as you found out!
@pismobeachday I would love to use one of those straps maybe I'll grab one the next time I am heading up there. But with the strap I was using this was the way to go.
@NEWEREJK Yeah, you didn't rip out any bumpers or snap necks getting a run at it......I have two of the CC120's for the extra stuck vehicles. One for each hook/eye in the front. Pulling someone backwards...it's all about the hitch!
I was out there today and i got pulled over because i pulled some people out and the ranger said that you aren't allowed to pull people out. i was just having fun exactly like you and he told me to leave his park. i wasn't charging people or anything i was in a suzuki sidekick pulling motorhomes and stuff much larger than me. Its all in the rope or strap you use get something that you can hit with momentum and nothing will stop you
@stevenhiersche17 I was there sunday at sunset. That Ranger sounds like a jerk. If you can't put people out there would be stuck trucks everywhere. That's half the fun of being there. Maybe the local tow truck company is low on cash.
@1000Jordan0001 Hey kid you know what? My father used to have a 76 Jeep Wagoneer 360 V8. Every time we went to the beach, I loved to see my father pulling out Land Cruisers all the time. Back in the 80s, It was pretty common to install a Chevy 350 in a Toyota, but even though the extra power, nothing performed like my father's Jeep. You still have to learn a lot of things about off roading, and the best way to do so is owning a Jeep....
@The70Sixer Dude a jeep isnt the best out there... all but the rubicons are shit stock... you have to put some money into a rig before its good.... i know that guy in the jeep isnt stock.... Im not saying jeeps suck so quit fucking trolling... i could take my 85 yota and do this shit jeez bud im not trying to be a ass like u.
@The70Sixer And i would be more then happy to get my ass towed out by a jeep. Thats what they are there for all the dumb young adults get yotas and flip them then get pulled over by older guys with rubicons and such then we drive em off. And 85 yotas are lighter then newer versions... all of they yotas i saw were tundras which are greatly heavier then tacomas which mean they sink easier.
@1000Jordan0001 Toyota sucks big time and you know that..........anyway, if there's a good fucking Toyota out there is just because you've got to put some american parts on it, like a 350 V8 or Danas 44. Anyway, I don't fucking care what you think, Jeep rules your mother's ass!!!!
@The70Sixer HA! ur a lil fucking prick who this jeeps are the best shit ever! MY TOYOTA AXLE IS AS STRONG AS A DANA 44! The 22r is the most reliable engine in the world! HA! ur one of those people that make jeeps have there bad names
@1000Jordan0001 Hahaha you're such a retarded ignorant, are you even American???? Seems like you're a fucking Taliban or Communist or both, anyway, sucks to be you!!!!
@JustForEmpire many people just refuse to air down. I can say that east coast sand is not the "baby soft" stuff we have out here. But that is based on my limited time on the east coast. I will be out there again in november.
holy crap man nice jeep! is that a ripp? and what sise tires and lift?, what kind of back bummper is it! i have a black 08 with an 6'' ans 35 nittos like yours...
@ggfish38 Yes, it is a RIPP Mods Gen2 supercharger kit. It has made a large difference in the power of the jeep. My lift is Teraflex's 2.5" budget lift sitting on 35" nitto Mud grapplers. My future goal is to get the TeraFlex 4" long-arm LCG kit. You jeep sounds sweet, have you joined my photo contest yet? Check out my photo contest video. you could win a free flex fit cap.
