The first time I heard this I got goosebumps and a shiver down my spine at Roger's backing vocals. The second time I heard it I cried at Roger's vocals. Now when I hear it I can hold it together, but still, a bloody beautiful song!
@ThisIsKuroCat Only A5? It's only semitone lower than his highest note:D and when you think about singing and druming together, he did and still does awesome job...
@ThisIsKuroCat Listen to Survival by Fox, feature Roger on backing vocals singing a freaking E6 in the very end. Freddie never ever hit that note.
Freddie hit some very high notes, yeah, but most of the time he hit them in short screams. Roger sung them in words. And he had a better tone in the high register, I think.
@Canaveral305 that is not entirely true! Freddie hit Bb5 many, many times and longer than full notes and the high note in Lap of the Gods is an A5. Freddie would have been able to hit that one! But fact is, Roger did not have the voice nodule problems that Freddie had to face. But let us both agree on one thing, Queen is most epic band <3
@ThisIsKuroCat I'm talking about higher notes that Bb5, here. Freddie hit some notes higher than this, but they were little screams. Roger didn't hit notes higher than this very often, but when he did, he actually SANG them, in words (like the example I named, did you listen to it?)
I don't think there's any high note Freddie hit that Roger couldn't. But Roger could never hit any of Freddie's lowest notes, haha. And his voice definitvely wasn't as versatile/powerful.
ouch... this song's msg... it hurts...

Also the highest he ever did!

@bigwo56 I dont know why everybody talks about Roger getting those high notes xD
Rogers highest note was the Bb5 in Bohemian Rhapsody at the opera part and Freddie hit that note LIVE soo many times and even higher notes.
In this song Roger goes only up to A5.
And yes, I agree with you, fight fucKing harmonies! love this 1
