You should do a tutorial on how to add shadows, like shadows on the ground. Assuming the guy in the picture has any legs and we add a beach background.

You can to that with any background, empty or not empty, doesn't matter. You just isolate and delete the background.

Yeah, it's true, you can use the selection tool and isolate/remove background or any part of the image, no problems.

I know what you mean but yes, like the other responses say, this technique can be used for any image regardless of the background type. The important lesson is the way that you separate the image from the background, the inner shadow/glow to make it look more realistic, and the simple yet funky new background design.

I like the way you added the inner shadow/glow on the guy to make him look more natural and not like he had been cut out....
