Of course it is possible to find other interpratations of Chopin. This is the Lang's one, this is what HE feels about Chopin...and then what HE plays. Criticable, but he is very young, and misses experience... Like it or not, probably he won't play the same way within few years :)

Lang Langs Interpretationen sind für europäische Ohren schon ein wenig Theatralisch. Er verwehrt sich nicht der Chinesischen Kultur in welcher diese Theatralik ja doch stark verankert ist . I admit that I am not a big fan of Lang Lang at times. I prefer Yujia Wang and Valentina Lisista. However everytime I watch this video I am moved to tears. He plays this with the absolute most exquiiste touch. He just caresses the keys. Just beautiful! But I have to admit I can't look at him and his facial expressions. :-/

One of his objectives along side bring the world fantastic music was to show and share music from china. Langlang played 2 chinese songs while he was there. One with his father on the er hu and another piano music piece from his teacher in China. If this is the way he shows respect to the western world why can't you take it?

i think what makes a lot of people hate langlang are his physical expressions which seem phony and exaggerated in a way to make sure everyone knows they're phony. i mean maybe they're not phony and it just looks that way. all together langlang needs to basically chill when he's playing... you know, control.

all pianists go crazy on some pieces some times mostly for variety. langlang is a great pianist and i like his chopin. listen to how he played chopin's fantasy impromptu when he was a kid.
