I don't know about the other versions, but in English it's a woman, Carmen Twillie. I suspect this is also the case in other versions. they just have deep voices.

i agree...but i can see why some people say it like that....when i was little i thought that the norwegian was the "real" version, cause that was the only version i knew about. And even if i know better now, and i love all the different versions...the one i grew up with will always be more "real" to me. But that doesn`t mean that i think it`s better then all the other versions.
