Some ask why the red, yellow, and green dots on the recovery option. If you move the cursor at the bottom all the way to the right of the files, you'll see that some are not recoverable, hence the red color. Still, app is free, does the job and THANK YOU to DarthVadoHD!!!

I was able to recover the video and it's in my Flip folder, but I am unable to send it to YouTube.  After waiting for it to upload, I get an error message saying it was unable to load. Any ideas on how I can get it fixed? Thanks for the Recuva info.

Some other solutions out there want you to download....then scan.....finding lost videos....gets you excited....then wants you to pay $39.95 before you can recover.....Glad I searched further and found your youtube. very cool but when i tried to play my video i got an error msg that reads "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file"

Vado files never seem recoverable I think the file system might be diff then the flip or additional security. Might be diff if you plug it into your machine and delete it that way...

Great! Also works for other types of deletion. In my case Flipshare threw out a bunch of errors when importing/deleting and I've lost a bunch of vids. Recuva got them all back!

two things: first, thank you SO MUCH for this!!! I lost all of my concert footage, then got it back. This is awesome and SO easy to do!

second, and this is the unfortunate part, I was able to "recover" all of my files. They are all in my "Recova" folder, but I CANNOT WATCH THEM ALL. But they are all in .MP4 format and "equal" in every way. Some simply do not open, with iTunes, Media Player, anything. *sigh* Does this mean they are lost forever? Is there any way to "re-recover" them?

@amaryllisae not sure what the problem might be but it may be that you recorded over them before trying to rcuva them.

you might set the "deep scan" feature in recuva and try that. it will take much longer but may give better results. hope it helps.

Hi, I found this very helpful, but have one problem. My recovered files are showing up as .mp4 rather than .avi files! I can't get them to open on any program now. Please advise!

@ksmith517 here's something you can try, choose ONE of your recovered files and make a copy of it on your desktop and make sure you rename it so you dont confuse it with something else. change the file extension back to .avi and see if that helps. if not you can also install the klite codec pack (free) and that might fix your problem as well.

@drumrdfox great deal...I love piriform software they also have another freeware called CCleaner which I may demo in a future video. It keeps you pc free of crud and works very well for me :)
