Recently a thinkpad just like the one in this video was for sale. Been used in a business environment for up to a year. Looks like new when the lid is open. Almoast prestine underneath, but the usual wear and tear on top of the lid. There`s even an SSD installed. Blasing fast with most everyday applications. Handles 1080p playback from youtube with ease. Only thinkpads from now on after having had/tested alot of brands and models over the years. A bit pricy, but every cent has gone into quality
all the best looking laptops are from lenovo. They dont have to be exclusive for business men or some other so called high class individuals. They are not flashy therefor they don't look GAY!
id say no to any plastic, light reflecting covered laptops anytime. plus thinkpads are not only built tough that could easily take any punishment you throw at them(saying it with my own experience) but also with great prominence that gets your jobs done.

no offence...i know that lenovo's are quality laptops..but they are ugly ass shit...
and i really don't know how could they be rougher than alluminium...
and talking about dropping resistance...the lighter a laptop is..the "smoother" the impact is gonna be..I really don't think that this laptop is very light...
I agree. People get Thinkpads for durability not aesthetics (YouTube Thinkpad Freefall). I've seen unibody aluminum Macbooks fall from lesser heights creating hideous dents but that's probably from the 13.3" Macbook weighing 4.5lbs VS 3.91lbs for the 14.1" T400s. Afterward, good luck getting Apple to replace your broken hard drive from such a fall as their warranty only covers known documented manufacturer defects.
first of all: most of the people don't buy a mac for hardware..they buy it for software (that's way i'll buy one).
Second of all: who the fuck buys his laptop to drop it or run with a truck over it??
I know it can happen to accidentaly drop your laptop but very rare..(i/ve dropped my iphone once in one year so imagine that my mbp won't get anywhere close to the floor)
plus, if all you want is style and nice hardware on your laptop you could easily buy a sony cheaper than a macbook
I dropped a Thinkpad T60 from a 6 foot fridge by accident one day. It fell on concrete, and nothing but small scuff on edge. I wanted the scuffs to be uniformly distributed to all the corners, so I dropped the T60 about 10 more times from the fridge and then it looked better. My cousin tried it with a Mac Pro, and the LCD broke the first time. Cheap mac aluminum, vs Carbon Reinforced Polymer Frame that was engineered to distribute the impulse throughout the frame so that nothing breaks.
on the contrary thinkpad line are design for business users, so is not flashy or colorful. The T -series has a magnesium rolling cage build in, with is stronger then alluminium
you expect it to have an OLED screen or something? otherwise LED screens are the latest screens you'll see available on laptops.
and the design is like that because many people like it, thinkpad's are known for being rough, solidly built machines, and aesthetics usually take a backseat. If beauty is one of your top priorities, may i suggest a dell, sony or apple laptop.
i don't care what it looks like as long as the keyboard is comfortable, keys don't randomly pop off after a year, the hard drive doesn't die on me, the optical drive doesn't fail, and the fans don't blare like loudspeakers.

I noticed that the Host didn't mention some key details like:
What CPU has it got?
What Size Hard Drive does it come with?, is it 7200rpm or SSD?
How much RAM does it Come with?
