  • It took me forever to find this original video but it was worth the trouble. I also remember seeing it on Friday Night Videos. I thought it was an original and well thought out video that entertained you... unlike so many others where they would just stand at a mic and sing. No matter where I was as soon as I heard the first opening bars of the jazzy horns I knew it was Hourglass and cranked up the sound.

  • With embedding disabled and ads up the wazoo, you'd think they'd post better looking, better sounding videos. Come on, give us better quality videos if we have to put up with your crap.

  • I loved Squeeze when they were good for when they were good they were unreal! GT had such a perfect voice, He rarely went flat or sung in monotone like the Coldplay clones do now & Difford was a great lyricist Pity the drugs, booze, women, bad mngt etc hit them but seeing them live a zillion times in the early 80's they were a class act Even the poppy hoppy music of the 80s was still better then most stuff today Jonas Bros, Cyrus, Swift, Mayer vs Tilbrook/Difford in their prime uh - noo!

  • This is my favorite song by Squeeze.

    Great song.

I remember seeing this video on Friday Night Videos on NBC in The Fall of 1987.

    Great memories.

    Peace and Love,

    Rob

  • I actually heard this being played by the robots at a Chuck E Cheese!!

  • Haha yeah they did sing it. A good song!

  • I saw this at my local CEC too... They need to do more shows like their 80s one///

  • Despite Jools Holland, not a bad tune!

  • excellent video

  • A creative and imaginative video in an era we actually had quite a few of them. Plus, Squeeze has been underrated...they have always put out good music.

  • excellent, great - reminds me of when i had my youth and hapiness! LOL thanks for posting!

  • some people laugh about the old music videos but at least everything was real, and when I'm saying real, even the girls were real !! ;)

  • 1. I think Salvador Dali would be more impressed. I ain't sure why M.C. Escher would take interest as I didn't see any birds become fish or upside-down waterfalls.

    2. I remember this video; used 2 hear it on Rick Dees & watch this on MTV when I was 8 or 9. Never did hear it on the radio outside of Rick Dees.

  • LOL, Dustfilms should make a literal video version of this >:D

  • Kinda like Ska..

  • "Babylon and On" album?

  • yes, this is from the album "Babylon And On"

  • mahn this video is on acid

  • Razor - Squeeze is definitely underrated, they aren't superstars, but they turnout extremely solid tunes all the time.

Also, M.C. Escher would be proud of this video.

  • and Rene Magriette

  • I love this song!!! Im soooo glad I found it here, Squeeze are a bit underrated, I have recently rediscovered them, and Im really glad I did!

  • EVERYBODY POLKA !!!!!!!

(If you've ever tried the polka you understand how well it fits this song.)

  • Happy Birthday Jools Holland (1/24)!!!

  • My favorite i like this better than tempted

  • 2:13

we have to lose that sax solo!!

  • at 1:54, this scene is about life cycle.

  • A great "radio" song!...

  • This is one of the neatest music videos ever made.

  • Great song with a great video. Gone are the days of great songs and great videos!

  • I suppose so, There aren't many these days. The newest band I'm actually interested in (The New Pornographers) is 11 years old. Their most well known song is probably Electric Version, Followed by Challengers.

  • Try the finnish band HIM, they are unique too.

  • satanically unique

  • Directed by Salvador Python.
