I saw Bon Jovi in San Antonio Tx on March 17, 2011! It was fantistic and as usual Richie was simply beautiful. I've had a crush on him as long as I remember. What really hurts is we were in the same hotel and missed seeing them by just a few minutes! Next time!

i think Mr.Richard Sambora has an EXQUISITE voice and is one of the best in the world, but so is Mr. John Bongiovi, no one can compare the two because they are too different! richie is blues rock, and on is more classic rock ballad, you need different voices to pull them off. can't compare them, the best way to settle this is for all of the bon jovi fans out there to just say, "they are both as good as eachother" :)

Richie has a much deeper tone of voice,meaning it will change less as he gets older,whereas Jon has a lot more range to lose.However Jon has recovered his voice power and to some extent his range in the last few years

@rd40082 He's different, not better. Jon has an attractive sound all his own. As far as being a better "musician," I think you'd have a hard time going that far. Jon writes all his own stuff and it's his vision that has led himself, Richie and the other band members to their massive success. Had Richie been the lead of the band, it would not have lasted more than 10 years, imo.

@rd40082 No problem, thank you. Another thing to keep in mind is that the other band members love Jon, I'd guess for his humility, integrity, and strength of character. The man is multi-MULTI-talented and makes himself into whatever he wants. Where Jon goes, so goes "Bon Jovi." Now, one could argue that Richie is as much of the *sound* as Jon is, but Bon Jovi, and their resulting success, has always been a result of Jon's vision and ear, and the other band (family) members lovingly accept it.
