This song actually makes the game seem even more dark, and it's already very weird and had more dark elements than most video games I've played. It had quite a few sad moments as well, such as the Deku Butler's son being killed by Majora, Darmani and Mikau's deaths, how the Skull Kid was manipulated, almost everything about Ikana, there was just so many dark, sad, creepy, and somewhat disturbing elements and themes. It's hands down the most unique Zelda game when it comes to stuff like that.

I thought kokiri turned into skull kids and normal children turn into stalchildren, but that's not it. The reason its confusing is that it was translated weirdly. In the original Japanese version skull kids are called stalchildren whereas stalchildren are call stalbabies. So yeah that other guy was probably right, if young Link got lost he would turn into a skull kid.

@AntiGuardiian There's a lot to go into consideration when you are working with rhyming words and poetry. Are you going for an exact rhyme? Or do you simply want rhythm.
Because if we really want to get technical, Rellik's poem doesn't work simply because the syllable counts don't match up.
And Balance and Dance can rhyme if you put a different inflection on the 'a' in Dance. But that doesn't even matter. The rhyme can still flow even if balance and dance don't rhyme perfectly.

@AntiGuardiian They don't necessarily -need- to rhyme. As far as poetry is concerned (and this is true for music too) near-rhymes are often better than an actual complete rhyme. The words have a similar shape and sound, so it works. It depends on the mood the author is trying to convey.

@hellow533 Not really lol You can't really compare them since "normal adult link" is in OOT and the "full grown adult link" only appears in MM. Adult link was sealed inside the sacred realm as a child until he was old enough to wield the master sword which was about 7 years, thus making him between the ages of 17 and his early 20s at most (since they never say how old he actually is)
Fierce Deity link is a FULL GROWN adult which I would say would put him around his 30s
@FyrenVasilia Have you played the game? Fierce Deity Link can't even be considered to be human. He is almost over twice the size of the guards in the game (can be seen using codes that allow you to wear the mask anywhere), and towers over everything in Termina. Fierce Deity Link is massive, and if Link grows that tall in 10 years, I would like to know what he does between 20 - 30........
@hellow533 besides, even if the full grown adult is bigger than "normal adult" link as you say, it would still make sense. I fail to see how having fierce deity is like the goron link since he obtained the goron mask for soothing a warrior's spirit and fierce deity was given to him so he could "play" with majora (if you decided to give all your masks up) either way, Fierce Deity is still a full-grown adult link.
(though I do take back that whether or not fierce deity is bigger xP)

2. If you'd actually played the game, you would have recognized this right off the bat. You have to hear this in game, unless you're a total failure and could never get through the first three days. In which case, I pity you, you really missed out.
@ClumsyTaylor for me majoras mask had the potential to be the best villain but the creators of the game made it so easy to beat and beside that, i really wanted to see a fight between link and the skull kid wearing the mask were the skull kid demonstrated more skills than dark link. Good thing is that we still have the happy mask salesman for a possible majoras 2

Also, no. You are full of fail. There never will be a Majora's mask 2, and if for some reason there was (Which there isn't) it would be terrible. There isn't a way in hell they could re-create anything with the same emotional weight.

you can call majora's mask a masterpiece because it was made in one freaking year!! ocarina of time took six years to make and they made this in one year and look how good it is. i simply am still surprised how they did that so fast
I recently read the most disturbing theory about this game.
Mikau and Darmani's entities were in the masks. The Deku Mask was never explained. As you first play as Deku Link Tatl points your attention towards a husk of a dead Deku Scrub. The Deku Butler at Deku Palace tells Link that he reminds him of his son in his Deku Form. He says his son left and never returned. After the credits the Butler can be seen crying at the husk. Majora killed the son and trapped his entity in a mask to curse Link.
I'm pretty sure this theory was supported in the manga by Akira Himekawa as well.
This song is beautiful. Although I haven't bought a 3DS yet I really do hope they make MM for it. Though I think OoT is better, MM remains my favourite. :)

Well, this game is literally, an infinite loop that ocurs over and over, that you can't stop, you barely can survive it, if you don't act fast enough you die on hands of the Mask.
Majora's Mask is the game that inflicts more psycological meanings to the players, over all other TLoZ games, and it is only a sequel, think about it, it hasn't its own benining, it parts from OoT (The best game ever created).
Also, when you are fighting Skull Kid at the top of the tower.... and you hear that laught..
Hyliandin, I read your article while listening to this. You're right about what you said about childhood, but I wonder what the creators were thinking while creating this.
The mask... it's a game we all play. To the very end of our own time, to the very end of our own loop. Surely we cannot change our pasts... but the mask.. it's us, it represents humans to the very core of ourselves. If our time truly does end why does it continue on for others? Phiolosphy is quite the cookie in this game.
Some people thought the story of this game was dumb. But it wasn't. C'mon, a mask with an evil spirit sealed inside it is stolen by a skullkid. So then, the mask takes control of the skull kid and causes him to want to crash the moon into the earth destroying it and Link has to stop it in 3 days. That is the most awesome, dark, and original story in any zelda game. Majora is far more evil than Ganon.
@leroyjenkins12345 the graphics plays a big roll in it all , theres not THAT much blood in it so it helps a bit with the only little bit just being red lil dots (kinda)
At least have it remade on the Wii-U and not the 3DS, so the dark and spooky atmosphere is not completely butchered like it was in OoT 3DS to make everything more visible on its stupid small screen.
It should get remade. Why? So that it will be available to the current generation of kids.
Of course, they shouldn't make any big changes--certainly not!
But the kids today should go through this, watch the people develop over the days--and watch what happens when the hero *doesn't* manage to save everyone.
The release of a 3DS remake would be so fitting with the end of this year.

Adult link was sealed inside the sacred realm as a child until he was old enough to wield the master sword which was about 7 years, thus making him between the ages of 17 and his early 20s at most (since they never say how old he actually is)
Fierce Deity link is a FULL GROWN adult which I would say would put him around his 30s

@FyrenVasilia Have you played the game? Fierce Deity Link can't even be considered to be human. He is almost over twice the size of the guards in the game (can be seen using codes that allow you to wear the mask anywhere), and towers over everything in Termina. Fierce Deity Link is massive, and if Link grows that tall in 10 years, I would like to know what he does between 20 - 30........

@hellow533 besides, even if the full grown adult is bigger than "normal adult" link as you say, it would still make sense. I fail to see how having fierce deity is like the goron link since he obtained the goron mask for soothing a warrior's spirit and fierce deity was given to him so he could "play" with majora (if you decided to give all your masks up) either way, Fierce Deity is still a full-grown adult link.
(though I do take back that whether or not fierce deity is bigger xP)

@ClumsyTaylor for me majoras mask had the potential to be the best villain but the creators of the game made it so easy to beat and beside that, i really wanted to see a fight between link and the skull kid wearing the mask were the skull kid demonstrated more skills than dark link. Good thing is that we still have the happy mask salesman for a possible majoras 2

Also, no. You are full of fail. There never will be a Majora's mask 2, and if for some reason there was (Which there isn't) it would be terrible. There isn't a way in hell they could re-create anything with the same emotional weight.

I recently read the most disturbing theory about this game.
Mikau and Darmani's entities were in the masks. The Deku Mask was never explained. As you first play as Deku Link Tatl points your attention towards a husk of a dead Deku Scrub. The Deku Butler at Deku Palace tells Link that he reminds him of his son in his Deku Form. He says his son left and never returned. After the credits the Butler can be seen crying at the husk. Majora killed the son and trapped his entity in a mask to curse Link.

This song is beautiful. Although I haven't bought a 3DS yet I really do hope they make MM for it. Though I think OoT is better, MM remains my favourite. :)

Well, this game is literally, an infinite loop that ocurs over and over, that you can't stop, you barely can survive it, if you don't act fast enough you die on hands of the Mask.
Majora's Mask is the game that inflicts more psycological meanings to the players, over all other TLoZ games, and it is only a sequel, think about it, it hasn't its own benining, it parts from OoT (The best game ever created).
Also, when you are fighting Skull Kid at the top of the tower.... and you hear that laught..

Surely we cannot change our pasts... but the mask.. it's us, it represents humans to the very core of ourselves. If our time truly does end why does it continue on for others? Some people thought the story of this game was dumb. But it wasn't. C'mon, a mask with an evil spirit sealed inside it is stolen by a skullkid. So then, the mask takes control of the skull kid and causes him to want to crash the moon into the earth destroying it and Link has to stop it in 3 days. That is the most awesome, dark, and original story in any zelda game. Majora is far more evil than Ganon.

At least have it remade on the Wii-U and not the 3DS, so the dark and spooky atmosphere is not completely butchered like it was in OoT 3DS to make everything more visible on its stupid small screen.

Of course, they shouldn't make any big changes--certainly not!
