In the Bible it was stated that Jesus partook of the passover feast which consisted of lamb. And he also ate fish and honeycomb. Not to mention that he, himself fed the "multitudes" with fish. Go figure!
He also lived in the desert which didn't have much vegetation. Being a Christian Vegetarian isn't about being a pharisee and condemning everyone who eats meat. Its just about being good stewards over God's creation. It also has health benefits too. Adam and Eve were the first vegetarians while in the Garden of Eden.
in corinthians, chapter 8, it says to paraphrase "to eat meat makes you no better, to not eat it makes you no worse" so don't gorge, but don't cry for it either
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
1 Corinthians 10:25

Every one of those scriptures refers to people, not animals.
Gen 1:26
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
