@coolman8393 Yep, recent reviews indicate that Ninty did a better job than Rare. People don't even seem to miss the Kremlings anymore. I'm still waiting for DKR 2 to see what Nintendo REALLY can do!
Wow final boss in SNES version took longer than GBA. Good gob! You made K. Rool a fool of himself. You would probably kick ass better than I can in SNES
Yeah, it's basically from Castlevania. Although as a note, I use pirate lingo to fit in with K. Rool's disguise.
I think his middle 3 phases are the hardest ones that don't rely on trying to be cheap, to be honest. The last one, I think you can reliably move to his previous location and space when he reappears.
Nice run here, I'm guessing you didn't use the team throw on the second half of kaptian k. rool to show that you're good enough to deal with the effects of the different coloured balls, I personally take the cheap way out. And to that person saying he is the hardest boss ever, have you heard of the games "king of fighters"
Try turbo Duon OR Porky on Intense in Brawl for bosses that are more difficult. I probably still have yet to just ND either of them on a decent enough frequency to ND Boss Battles. Kaptain K. Rool is, amazingly, a joke in comparison, this video proving that because I'm basically technique running.
The "ending" also fooled Diddy, who just stood there confused about how the Kremlings made the game if they had their butts kicked in it, that is until King K. Rool jumped over his head instead of doing the smart thing and using his charge attack again.
As for the invisibility, I'm guessing Kaptain K. Rool wanted us to behold his true difficulty and despair, as we would feel true cheapness.
I did daredeviling against Kaptain K. Rool all the time too. (Not the Lost World one; I couldn't even reach him because I was using an emulator with a glitch that made Klobber Karnage much harder to beat.)
You mean the one that makes the spinning barrels at the end act crazy? That was awful...I have no idea how I managed to beat that level and get the DK coin.
He was a regular enemy in DKC. The muscle Kremling who couldn't be killed by Diddy's regular attacks to be precise. (And there's a silver Krusha variety in Platform Perils that can't be killed with Donkey Kong's jump attacks either, so you have to hit them with barrels.)
There's a similar enemy in DKC2 named Kruncha--and attacking him with regular attacks will just anger him. (Don't forget Donkey Kong was captured or you wouldn't even be on Crocodile Isle in DKC2 in the first place.)
Actually, the K. Rools are all the same character. You probably got the impression of otherwise because K. Rool just acts weird, especially in DKC3. The Kongs are never even fooled by K. Rool's pirate persona.
smashbros001 probably got confused because in Brawl, the description of Kaptain Rool of the trophy said that K. Rool and him were brothers. That was a translation error.
Of course, the whole point is K. Rool making Trojan Bowser look like he's good at actually making you think he IS Bowser. K. Rool's characterization in DKC3 shows just how weird he is.
Um...Gangplank Galleon or K. Rool Duel? More likely the former seeing as the music for the K. Rool battles in DKC2 isn't in SSBB, ugh. But I wouldn't be sure how to handle either level effectively.
However, while I do have the system, I don't have WiFi at the moment, so I doubt I'll be doing this, at least anytime soon, since there wouldn't be too much point. I'm more concerned about getting up my next video right now.
I tended to hit the special shot things just for the challenge... and during the first time to just see what they actually did. It's true that it adds to the K. Rool humiliation when you did all that despite the effects.
Sadly, I didn't manage to evade the shots this time around. Though if I did, I would have run into the blue and purple ones on purpose right afterwards. Not the red ones; I think being slowed down DECREASES the difficulty of evading the following spiked cannonballs.

Considering crocodile meat has high protein, I'd say that's why the fishes attacked K. Rool.

Oh, I know where the quote is from.
But, for what it's worth, I got past the second triplet okay usually, but got killed on the last three phases, where he was quite unpredictable.

The cheap way out is Dixie's helicopter spin, right? *shrug* Why does Tanto think she doesn't belong on Easy Mode Character?
I pointed out about SSBB bosses being more difficult, especially on Intense where they can wipe out the 4 stock you get to work with rather quickly.

Who's The Monkey With Blonde Hair?

Dixie Kong. You should know this if you have played DKC2. Or SSBB for that matter.

ilikethecoke 3 years ago
Red actually slows you down. It's purple that reverses your controls.

My bad. I wrote that down before I saw the effects of red in the video.
I haven't played this game in years.

I understand. First impressions aren't always accurate after all.
It's possible the error may have been in Brawl in Japan, since DKC was made by Rare, who is in England.
Oh, by the way, if you're smashbros001, there's no need to hide it.
MasterKnightDH 3 years ago
so they are not brothers?
sasukegir66 3 years ago
They aren't. Brawl just says they are, but if they were, Kaptain K. Rool would have appeared again by now (outside the DKC2 remake for GBA).
