Actually that farmer is my wife's uncle. In that particular village they do not eat snake. They believe that eating snake will cause something very bad to happen to a family member. The last time I was given some retic soup in another part of Thailand, I could not get my wife to try it(and she eats EVERYTHING lol). I haven't been back to Krabi in quite a while but I will keep you in mind. Thanks

i would be careful, it looks like Naja siamensis, which is a spitter... Does N siamensis live in that area? Cool krait btw...

I suppose they both won because after I was done the farmer released them back behind his rice farm near an irrigation channel.
