  • boil the squid and prawn plus fish for more than 15 min that mean your food is over cook and not healthy , so now just call it alia bastilla

  • Alia why you didn't try it and open the bastilla at serving? I think showing a slide of your plate wold be a cool idea...

  • because she probably messed it up.

people in morocco dont eat tilapia.

    hmara,

  • she has very nice hands.

  • the fish has been cooked for too long (esp the prawns which already looked cooked & pink). The fish will be overcooked at this rate!!

  • why did she cook the squid for 15mins?? she wants it tough ?? LOL

  • @gapchef im agree with youu to much to cook fish 3 times!! you dont need it!! normally you have to cook it a few mn that s all!

  • it's not bastilla

it's PASTILLA its a northern moroccan plate

  • No it's Bastilla....but french people call it pastilla

  • @larustik bastilla i sthe same thing as pastilla idiot. It was taken to the iberian peninsula by the Moors.

  • @larustik what are u talking about that's Bastilla!!

  • that looks so good just like you

  • I love Basstila , chahitini fiha =)

  • what was the second spice you named off?

  • second spice was Saffron, it's the stamens of the crocus flower, very little can go a long way and it's very expensive

  • choukran zina !!!!

keep up the excellent work !!

  • alia what do u mean with put it to boil?? (to make it more golden brown.

    End of the video

    Thankx

  • put it to bRoil which means kind of roast it in the oven so the top with brown and crispy before serving.

  • thank you seafood batilla is one of my favorite and your reminds me of my grandmothers

  • @babygallzz No lovey , she said " Broil " , = take it out of the oven and shove it under a hot grill to brown the top is what she means .

  • Is there a hadit that says squids are haram???

  • where did u get this informations ?

  • SINGLE MUSLIMS ROFl

  • Thanks for answer

    hope you sucess and happiness

  • This has GOT to be good!

I hope that you can translate what i wrote for who can't read frensh

    Thanks for all

    Karima from Morocco

  • Merci Karima pour ton gentil message!!! vraiment j'apprecie.

Karima from Mrocco got a great tip! you can add pickles (the small kind) and olives cut into small pieces. also you can add preserved lemons and grated cheese. and it's delicious! feel free to add one or all of the items above.

Also, Karima says that you can add tomato sauce to the fish (or your favorite thick sauce).

    thank you Karima!!!

  • Alia in this case it will not be an original Bastilla if we add cheese and pickles...the way you made it is how it should be in my opinion..it was Perfect...maybe preserved lemon and a litlle bit of olives is ok..but cheese and pickles..I'm not pretty sure it's gonna work...

  • what is that first fish you put in the pan?

  • the first thing I put in the pan is butter :-)

then all the fish together (previously boiled).

    does this answer your question?

    cheers :-)

  • what is the name of the pan thing morrocan always use for cooking? its like tiechene or sumthin

  • Do you mean Tajine? it's a pot clay where food is cooked but through time, the dishes are called tajines as well (for example Tajine of Chicken with carrots, etc.). you can see in my videos, I made couple of tajines. hope this helped. cheers :-)

  • i have cooked this fish bastila my moroccon mother law showed me how to make it on my last holiday there it is delicious i love all your recipes thankyou Alila

  • And do not forget:) about onions, which should be cooked with eggs and spices. Where I was, do not add everything together, but each component separately: small pieces of cooked chicken, sugar, and eggs that were cooked in the sauce of chicken, then chicken and sugar, ..... But I think you know better than I do how to do this:) I am looking forward to your version of chicken bastila:)

  • no Hunny..it's a Fish pastilla..and in the fish pastilla we can not use eggs...eggs and fish that will be Nasty lol...but onions and garlic will make the taste better I thick...

  • :) Yes, I know that. I wrote only about a pastilla with chicken...

  • I know this food bastila from a wedding in Marocco. It was really delicious, I prepared it than at home 2 times, but with a chicken. Really, really good!

  • yeah you are right, they put the chicken pastilla for weddings in Morroco :-)

very yummy! this is in my to-do list for future videos!!!

    cheers!

  • Hi Alia,

Thank, thank thank you for adding this dish. I will try it this weekend.......;-))).

  • I will have to try alia, nice work! cheers, KtC

  • I just made this today, it turned out great. Thank you alia!

  • Is phyllo dough acceptable for the wrapping, or is it too thin to withstand all that handling?

  • Yes you can use phyllo dough but it's going to be very hard to handle because it breaks very easily. I would recommend using multiple layers of phyllo and brushing it well with butter. Personally I use phyllo dough when I am making Briwats which is the sweet version of 'Pastilla' on small triangles filled with almonds (or other nuts) and dipped in honey. I made a video once of Briwat using phyllo. but for the salty Briwat or Pastilla, I prefer to use spring roll pastry.

  • Hi alia, you cooking is great. Can you please make chicken pastilla.

    Thank you so much

  • it's in my to do list!

    thanks for the suggestion :-)

    cheers

    alia

  • neat and clean,perfect idea

  • Comment removed

  • good idea. but i wish if you had cut it so we can see inside!!:)

  • wow this looks really good and eaqsy to make, i wanted to ask u, do u bake it covered or ucovered?

  • You bake it uncovered, and just before serving, put it to broil for 1-2 minutes.

    enjoy!
