Karima from Mrocco got a great tip! you can add pickles (the small kind) and olives cut into small pieces. also you can add preserved lemons and grated cheese. and it's delicious! feel free to add one or all of the items above.
Also, Karima says that you can add tomato sauce to the fish (or your favorite thick sauce).
Alia in this case it will not be an original Bastilla if we add cheese and pickles...the way you made it is how it should be in my opinion..it was Perfect...maybe preserved lemon and a litlle bit of olives is ok..but cheese and pickles..I'm not pretty sure it's gonna work...
Do you mean Tajine? it's a pot clay where food is cooked but through time, the dishes are called tajines as well (for example Tajine of Chicken with carrots, etc.). you can see in my videos, I made couple of tajines. hope this helped. cheers :-)
i have cooked this fish bastila my moroccon mother law showed me how to make it on my last holiday there it is delicious i love all your recipes thankyou Alila
And do not forget:) about onions, which should be cooked with eggs and spices. Where I was, do not add everything together, but each component separately: small pieces of cooked chicken, sugar, and eggs that were cooked in the sauce of chicken, then chicken and sugar, ..... But I think you know better than I do how to do this:) I am looking forward to your version of chicken bastila:)
no Hunny..it's a Fish pastilla..and in the fish pastilla we can not use eggs...eggs and fish that will be Nasty lol...but onions and garlic will make the taste better I thick...

Yes you can use phyllo dough but it's going to be very hard to handle because it breaks very easily. I would recommend using multiple layers of phyllo and brushing it well with butter.
