ok why on gods green earth is which jls member would you like to date an advert on the side of this vid im a guy and straight and hate mainstream boy band shit
i love this song and wish that it would have gotten produced better. but you know what i think. i think kurt was just as happy having this one with his friends and having a lot of the unpublished stuff just with Krist and Dave. it was something he loved and cherished it would have been an amazing thing to have something like that just with friends. its a sentimental thing sometimes.
Kurt Cobain made a connection to me with the Nirvana song Do Re Mi. My father, who went to college on a music scholarship, taught me the singing technique known as Do Re Mi (a.k.a. Solfege) as a little girl. I also knew the singing technique is what inspired Rodgers and Hammerstein to write the song Do-Re-Mi for The Sound of Music.
@zeke2812 Underrated??? Lol, I don't think enough people have heard of it for it to be underrated. Either way, you can't say enough good things about this song, so it will always be underrated.
This is fucking incredible. Always a bit sad when I think that it never got any further than a home demo but then again if they had properly recorded this it wouldn't have been as raw and acoustic. Thank you Nirvana.
@valhallaForever88 I didn't mean every song. All I said to begin with was Do Re Mi had a Lennon influence to it. And 'Hippie rich kid.' You are a fucking idiot.
@valhallaForever88 dude seriously youre dumb. kurt was a huge beatles fan, u can obviously hear it in his music, its just a bit disguised by turning the volume on the guitars so loud and playing so aggressively. john lennon was one of his idols. along with jimi hendrix. also i really love kurt cobain, but u shouldnt live your whole life wondering what he would want, or how he would like it. be your own person and live your own life. that what kurt would really want.
@MrBeatlesDrummer It's a play on words first of all and a early version of a song that never came to pass. So whatever either of your arguments are totally invalid. He sings Don't rape me,hence the Do Re Mi title, would have probably been altered to actually don't rape me had he lived to make another album. I'm guessing the reasoning for this is because of how Rape me got so censored in many places on the in utero album. Stores like K-Mart back when that came out had special censored tape covers
@Standard420247 Song on those albums were track listed as "Wafe Me" not "Rape Me". So fucking stupid but fact, So anyways what is the argument about again? No one would have a clue because neither of you are making any real point or sense.
@valhallaForever88 are you seriously talking shit on the Beatles? everyone was influenced by the Beatles. best bad ever period. nirvanas probably the best american band but the Beatles are the best band ever.
@valhallaForever88 if it wasnt for the beatles there wouldnt be rock bands like u know them today. and anything in popular "pop" music just wouldnt be the same or might not even exist. when the beatles came out it really did get people wanting to be in a band more then any other musical act before. quite simply if it wasnt for them there wouldnt be much of the stuff u listen to today, everyone copyied the beatles in some way.
@valhallaForever88 everyone had some influence man. if u didnt have any influence u wouldnt even know how to speak or type, since these are learned behaviors by people u are influenced by. i.e. parents, friends, etc.
@valhallaForever88 its not a beatles song, its a kurt cobain song. i think people were just stating how they can hear certain influences in this song. i think that some influences go so deep into people that when they write music they dont even have to think about it, it just comes out. thats how it should be, u shouldnt be trying to deliberately sound like any one person but just let your influences come out naturally.
@Carnageloser7 do re mi is not a nirvana song. it is a kurt cobain song. this was his last demo before he died. it would have eventually been a nirvana song when they would have recorded it for their next album. the rest of the band is not even on this recording. i would think that would be obvious since you can only hear a guitar and kurt singing. the majority of nirvana's songs were written by kurt anyway.
Actually there are two guitar players in this song. Kurt playing the central guitar and Pat smear playing on some other parts. I read the liner notes in the Best Of the Box CD that credits Pat Smear as a " second guitar player " At around 2:34 you can hear Kurt playing the central riff and Pat strumming hard in the background.
Okay now that i think of this it freaking annoys me that he is dead i want him to make more music so i can learn it cause i love playing nirvana music on guitar.
@GrungeStratocaster26 Like they said of Jimi Hendrix do not mourn what was never just be thankful that such special and talented people graced this earth even for a short while (I know what you mean though)
the great ones always die too soon, this song makes me cry he was a sad depressed soul and he made his feelings into art he will never leave my memory, true i was only 7 when he died but i listen to his songs from that day to this
@sharababy87 how about the respect to other persons, him and me, i guess it makes you so pro to talk bullshit about others, don´t judge people, you didn´t knew him, you are just a fanboy, crying over a band that doesnt fit you, and a time period that doesn´t belong you, you don´t have the right to say "I understand kurt cobain perfectly"
@thechosenoneisgood dude how can you judge me, tell me that kurt cobain was happy go lucky person, i was'nt bashing him i did'nt say i understand kurt cobain perfectly did i? i say he turned his feelings into art, did'nt know that would piss someone like you off,oh yeah i'm older than you by a few years and i'm a women not a fanboy, fuck off and have a great day
@sharababy87 quoting you: "he was a sad depressed soul", when you are talking about not judging people, and you come with this arguments, you prove that you have nothing to discuss here, you are jugding someone you didn´t even got to know, music is always relative, as art itself, and one can have a vision of it, acording to his own feelings, and also quote: "ever heard of freedom of speech you fucking dipshit shmuck melted yellow snow cone eater", ohh yeah that proves it, you are not judging.
@thechosenoneisgood i never said i understand him perfectly what i did was give my opinion and if you have a problem with it you should keep it to yourself because i can give two shits less what you think of my beliefs or opinons so once again fuck off and have a great day and what makes you think that time period belonged to you when your younger then me you dipshit schmuck yellow snow cone eater
@sharababy87 Ohhh yeah, quite mature person over here, and when i say it doesnt belong to you, its because you were 7 years old, ohh yeah, you were so generation X
