I don't know. Someone who has to constantly repeat that they are the "biggest" and "largest" probably aren't. This is some pre 1900 advertising methods. Old and completely warn out. Make your products do the talking, it seems that a lot of people think your products are not the greatest., so lots of improvement still to do...
i'm not quite convinced about green stuff though, used them in past but the ferodo ds2500 seems more superior (fast road car, nurburgring, heavy use). However yellowstuff seems te be a big improved but it's a tough choice between the ds3000, carbon loraine rc5+, hawk pads or the yellow's sinds i'm looking for a replacement and upgrade of pads at the same time.
I'm in the U.S. I used to run Brembo brakes on my Dodge Charger R/T with Road and Track package... I switched over to EBC 3GD rotors with "Red Stuff" pads which are FAR superior to the Brembo brakes I was running. Quicker stopping, more effecient braking, and a much improved cooling compared to my Brembo. Though expensive, worth the price. I have stopped from 130 MPH 39 feet shorter than my Brembo brakes. That can be the different between running off the end of the drag strip and stopping. LOVE
I am looking for some quality brakes and pads for my 06 Pontiac Vibe base. Can anyone give me some comments on how well EBC works on cars similar to mine? Just looking for info.
Does EBC produce "EBC Bluestuff NDX Formula Racing Brake Pads" for Nissan 24SXs? I'm able to locate "Yellowstuff" pads for 240SXs and "Bluestuff" pads on their own, but not both together.
i have ebc green pads for my celica vvti. with stock discs they are worse than toyota pads. when the ebc green pads get hot, they smell like fish. this helps the driver to notice that they overheat, which i like. be aware that you have to buy pads and discs from ebc otherwise they could turn out be terrible. a very good combination should be ebc turbo discs with forodo ds 2500 pads.
This is a very interesting video. I've never heard of EBC before. I have an 04 Harley Davidson FXDI Super Glide and am wondering how EBC's front and rear motorcycle will do on my Harley Cruiser. This all looks pretty impressive.
EBC is a progressive Company with the largest range of brakes in the world and materials that surpass most of its competitors, you only have to read RECENT comments on forums to see that.
It seems some very rude and uneducated people still choose to comment negatively on materials EBC might have made years ago and we obviously delete their posts especially when they include “Choice” words and ranting comments that do not reflect the CURRENT product offering. One such comment was placed today remarking that “EBC used to import cheap and nasty pads” when in fact EBC has not imported a single brake pad for 30 years, kind of an out of date comment.
Can anyone please tell me is it true that when the ebc greenstuff pads are hot, they make a squeeky noise and also after being stationary for a few minutes, you can hear em cool down or makes a squeaky noise?
5:27 into this video shows the brakes being put through a test, I am curious as what speed this test was done and how that fire would happen in the real world, If I say stop my car from 160Mph under full load until I come to a complete stop, would that be enough to cook the brakes? or was that test done at much higher speeds or different loads? Never had EBC brakes but looking at this I defo think I will be considering it (shame I just changed my pads for Bosch - Doh!) - Thanks Azz - RX7 Gen3
It's probably the 3/4 ton test with 100-120mph breakdown time. The point is to destroy the pad. If the pad passes this test, they have to examine the areas the pad was worn incorrectly. The pad should wear evenly and the rotor should as well. When the rotor catches on fire, this is usually the 120, 1 ton, continuous brake cycle until thermal collapse. Which is uhh... Needless to say. Very dangerous, but hey. It's their money.
A World Class Manufacturer Indeed! I learned something new about brakes now, it makes you appreciate the standards of car brakes as I fit them at work myself! Great Video!
If I remember Ford was working on a new brake system which used a pad system that went all they way around the disc. It seem to work well in the prototype stage, I just wonder what ever happened to it???
@FilippoGatti1991 Well that's a shame. It seemed like a great idea. This is similar to the Muller flying car. You leave a large deposit on a flying car that is not in production yet. It's been going on for years.
I'm glad I watched this video. I was trying to get Brembo or Wilwood brakes but they don't have a set which fit on a 2006 Sentra Special Edition 1.8 Ltr. EBC does. I didn't want my brakes stamped with made China. I'm very happy to see they are made in England and It helps create jobs. I just so tired of made in China! ( No offense intended )
I wasn't sure about EBC way back to be honest. I've been a long user of Mintex's line of brake pads, from my own car to race cars, but recently I swapped to EBC Green as my car is going through a transition period (engine swap etc) and needed something that stops great but lasts long (something that Mintex 1144 doesn't do). Very pleased by the results, it's a really great pad. I drive a Proton Gen.2. My only wish is that I could get a matched set for the rears also. Mintex has rear pads for it
one thing that's kept me from fitting full sets of EBC brake products to my street or endurance racing car has been the lack of in-stock US suppliers. All the companies I have spoken to have exclusively reported that my orders would be passed on to EBC and often times drop-shipping can take as much as 10 weeks. With my endurance racing prep-time often sub-8 weeks, I wind up with race pads from Hawk. If the Yellow or Bluestuff is as good for my application, I may be inclined to pre-order them.
hi im doing a project on this company for a business class and i was wondering if you could email me the name of the different types of machinery you use in making your brakes please.
Im driving 97 honda prelude type s. And im going through front pads really often. After long reaserch i decided to go for red stuff, i payed 108 euro for front pads today, will install them tomo, cant wait how they will perform.
I installed Yellowstuff pads on front and rear of my car along with the 3GD rotors... Let me tell you, these things do not only STOP you when and where you want them to.., but there is a HUGE difference between stock brakes and these brakes. I can say i stop at least 40% closer than before.. And i had 4 of the latest brakes. I havent even fully slammed on the brakes. I'm afraid to
"UK Motor Industries Research Association (MIRA) witnessed early tests of Redstuff pads which reduced car stopping distance by almost 50 feet from 100 MPH offering a staggering 30% brake improvement."
You can't get any more "real" than that. I know they're just numbers... but think about it for a moment...
That's over 15 metres difference at just 100MPH. That's impressive, how ever you look at it.
For auto-cross or track use, id rather have Hawks pads, or Carbotech. For street or street/track use EBC, Hawks and Carbotech are all in the top 3. All you have to do is try out each pad and see which one you like the best on your vehicle and your set up and braking style.
I really like the EBC greenstuff pads though, we have them on our 4x4 F-150 and I got them for like 5$ more then the regular parts store ones and there WAYYY better. EBC's dimpled/slotted rotors are really nice too.
I've just read your comments and If you send us your make, model and address for where to send to, we will send on some of our new EBC Bluestuff NDX Formula Racing Brake Pads for you to try out. I'm sure you'll be impressed! Andy Freeman, MD of EBC Brakes
2006 nissan titan 5.6,i would like to give your pads a try, my rims&tires are pretty heavy,i used to go through pads pretty often until i found hawk pads, what pads would you recomend,i read a little bit about the yellow stuff, but not sure if those would be for me,if you do let me try your pads,i would consider, using your pads for my fleet ofheavy duty trucks
Yesterday I fitted some EBC TurboGroove discs and Greenstuff Pads to my Peugeot 306 2.0 XSi. The pads are rated to 200bhp so they claim and I hope they turn out to be decent, otherwise I will be wishing I got the Redstuff pads instead.
how did they pan out.. the green stuff pads.. i actually have my car at 230 bhp so ll be going for red stuff.. but just wondering hwo did green stuff ended up to be like.
if thats good then i know redstuff will be great :D
Hard to say as after fitting a new track rod end, I still have a lot of judder & steering wheel shake (may need more bits replacing perhaps like inner rack end). The judder goes away the harder I brake though. Despite this they do pull up pretty well but not outstanding, so the red stuff would have been a better choice.
To sum up the Green Stuff are not bad, fairly good but I expect the Red Stuff will be the real deal.
I have EBC TurboGroove rotors and EBC ceramic pads on my SAAB 9-3... the improvement over stock is simply awesome; and they were pretty good before!
You can't really compare them with anything else on the market. The RedStuff still dust the alloys (despite claims they don't) but it's much longer between washes and the ceramic dust seems to wash off easier than before.
the brake is impressive.

I have Green Stuff pads and Sport Rotors on my Dakota 4x4.
The stopping power is far, far superior to anything else I've tried and without any major brake dust or any significant noise.
I've actually just purchased a new set of the same rotors and pads that arrived today on the recommendation of my local Chrysler dealership.
My only concern is that the previous rotors warped and heat cracked prematurely (street use only - no racing).
But they worked so well I wanted to give them another shot.
