By levelling more and having more effective ways of hurting the boss, sure. Nothing wrong with having characters die anyway, seeing how they return after the battle.

@MoogleBoss: nvm dude, just beat it w/out letting anyone die. it's all about formation and having alot of healers. for me dying does matter, it's not pro to have deaths, anybody can do this game w/ deaths. btw, lvling isn't going to help you, the monster's lvl will be the average of your team. the higher your lvl, the more hp it will have and the more damage it will do.

A2 is generally an easier game to die in compared to the first one - evading attacks is harder, back physicals deal double damage, there is a Hard Mode... Sure, not being killed takes some skill, but I wouldn't reset my game over it.

You're not fully right about the last sentence by the way, levels are fixed for most battles, excepting the random encounters. HP is determined randomly at the start of the battle so an enemy can high more or less HP depending on the attempt.

@MoogleBoss: HP is random? that doesn't makes sense. i checked the lvl of the Lord of Flowsand and it was like 23, which was basically the average of my party. if it was random, it could be 99999 or 100. i doubt that it's random.

lol i nvr played the 1st game so i didn't know this was harder. i am playing on hard mode cuz when i tried playing fire emblem on normal, it was too easy so i thought i needed the challenge this time.

I just compared the boss's level on two of the videos I've recorded and it does look like you're right. His level is 21 on one video and 16 on another. HP is most certainly randomised at the start of the mission, but not within certain limits (there is a fixed minimum and maximum a stat can reach for any class, including ones unavailable to you).

What I said does apply to the first FFTA though, which is a game I've played a lot more than this one.

i remember being stuck on this one for SOOOOOOOOO long. i went thru at least 3 or 4 auctions before i did this. then my brother beat him and said "have a bishop with areo"

and then i got a bishop with areo, and i did the quest easily! =D

It's a series of quest starting with Geomancer's Way that's the main title for the quests

it took me only once, and 25 minutes to finish him on the first playthrough though. I used one dragoon and two magic user to deal damage.. maybe I'm just lucky enough, since he had around 200 hp left after my dragoon's second turn

nvm about my last comment, i did it. i didnt do it like u tho. i usd 2 soldiers, a dragoon, adelle, a black mage, and a white mage. it really wasnt that hard. although, that gravity flux attack got on my nerves because it killd my black mage which slowed the victory down quite a bit. o and how did u get gunner at that low of a level? i have lvl 30's-40's and i still don have a gunner. please reply to this comment ppppllllzzzzzz.

anyway, in order to obtain the fusilier job, you need to finish a certain quest first (the one fighting with 6 fusilier). also you'll need one action ability of animist before you can access to it.

No, unfortunately. Play a lot of missions and steal loot from enemies whenever possible.

Actions do offer great items unfairly early in the game.

Well, this boss painstakingly annoying and probably the thing that gave me a bitchslap telling me this isn't like the previous game and I can't walk over battles like I use to in FFTA. I actually had to strategize. D:

Hunter + Sidewinder + Air Element Greatbow and Elementalist + Shining Air worked for me.

Getting a tank (in this case, I used Dragoon) with counter to soak up the draining attack was helpful too. :)

Does the indigo/black chest give out fancy items?

Question for you, I'm about to start a new game and go moogles only. When/Where can you recruit moogles, again? And whats the best "Essay Question" Powerup to get for moogle only parties?

The earliest moogles (animist, thief and black mage) are recruited in Bisga Greenlands in Goldsun/Silversun. You can hire them as soon as you can sleep in the magician's hut, iirc.

The early clan privilege doesn't matter much since you'll get better stuff anyway. Go for Power 2 if you want, I think that's what I did.

I know this videos kind of old, but it must've sucked when you came across the "no moogle" law and when you fought against the "Kings" since they have very high magic defense. Instead of using black mages and such, I went with a Nu Mou Elementalist equipped with Lumious Robe (half MP) and paired him up with a Time Mage. Casts Haste on the Nu Mou and spew forth attacks that damage all enemies quickly. And best of all all the attacks have different elemental affinities, and even one with none.

If actions by Moogles are banned, I just try to win the battle with physical attacks before my entire team is dead, simple as that.

You can still deal pretty good damage with elemental weapons equipped and the Geomancy ability mastered.

I don't "train" any non-moogles actually. I don't think you ever need to have anyone other than Luso on the field during the compulsory storyline missions but I'm not sure, haven't finished the challenge yet (didn't try it during a normal game obviously).

Lame! I feel like a noob right now, I never knew about the auctions, I did do the land bidding though (that leads to the auctions?) also, how do you have full moogles on that mission? I only had 1 extra person... Adelle so that doesen't even count... Plus you have all that extra stuff, I see you're only in the <20 lvl with most of em... how did you manage all this by the time you hit this mission? It's ok, don't worry. You can hire an infinite amount of moogles (bmages, animists and thieves only though) when you first find Lezaford. Just go to Bisga Greenlands in either Goldsun or Silversun.

As for the equipment/abilities, I got some stuff from the auctions but I didn't go crazy about it (no farming, I just did the auctions a couple of times and was content with it). You can bid for items in auction houses once you possess all the areas.

Also, I say, even if items are banned, selling them for profit should be aloud. As should selling loot be aloud, if you can give up the kinda good weapons you can kinda sorta get.

Oh, and Tinker is not reliable at all. I once had to reset like 6 times in a row because Clockwork kept gifting the enemy with buffs instead.

I can't say... Tinker's Pandora Box (uh, Clockwork?) is best left unopened in either game, really. Fortune Rings + Sleep/Doom was a decent combination back in the day though, but it was effective partly thanks to Concentrate actually increasing your accuracy significantly.

Geomancy and the fun of Time Magick should be enough to get you through the game, but it will likely be very annoying at times. Good luck.

I had a hard time on this boss, I had to reset twice, nice to know the great MoogleBoss can beat it with only moogles. I had to use a dragoon and a bit of hope with the 50% hit.

Even though Nocashgba plays FFTA2, there are things in the game it cannot handle. For me, there's slight lag when any enemy or guest (basically, any unit you do not control) moves, but the worst begins when you try to summon a scion. The screen just freezes for a few seconds, accompanied by heavy audio distortion, and then you see the damage.
