I remember growing up on 47th st. and joining the Intrepid Cadet Corp., I wanted to join the Navy but had a disqualifing injury as a teenager. I now live in NC but when I visit home I always drive by her and reminisce.
i visited the USS Intrepid when i was 17 i was like a kid in a candi store she is the reason i joined the navy 2 years later i served on the USS Coral Sea CV-43 best days of my life
Technically, sh e's a CVA. I can't watch this video without wanting to cry. My daddy (now deceased) served on this ship and often talked of wanting to go to see her. I wonder now, that he's gone, if he can finally go home.
@darkyoda i went on board the Intrepid when i as in high school. i was so impressed that i decided thats what i wanted to do i latter joined the Navy and served on board the USS Coral Sea. in a way your dad his ship changed my life. i hope that he did find hes way home
