I had a '88 and made the mistake of selling it, I bought a new one in '02 and it's still my first choice to ride. I've done a few needed mods, the balancer(I've seen several broken ones) better rear shock and fork springs, upgraded front rotor and line, and recently a thermostat kit by thermo bob. The last one really made a difference, fuel economy is a little better and the performance is improved, oil consumption is down as well, and the fan hardly runs.
Just bought a 2010 at the Edmonton Bike show for 5999 $ What a deal on a great bike......Have a 2005 in the garage with 32000 trouble free kms on it. Without a doubt the best deal in all of motorcycledom!! Rubber side down guys, rubber side down ..
The Honda Super Cub 90 will get you there, one day.... (Also how you break the 650 in matters. I see a consistent 65 MPG and I have a heavy right hand.)
Regardless of what your drive, ride, or pilot don't put ethanol in it and you'll see better performance, mileage, and engine life expectancy.

honda super cub 90 gets you over 100 mpg but can only hold just over a gallon, this holds 4 gallons at 50ish mpg. so the choice is go 200 miles for quadruple the cost of going 100 miles on a honda 90. hard choice lol
08 owner and i love it. been on long road trips and some pretty nasty off road trips. The only few things i would recommend are aluminum skid plate and bark busters.
@smokestackkk The "doo-hickey problem" isn't a problem if you keep your balancer idle lever adjusted properly. Kawasaki upgraded to a more robust spring during the 08 revision. It's easy just loosen a bit and torque to proper specs.
i'm 5 feet 7 inches is this a suitable motorcycle for me ?
