The group in the plane (and Des) escaped but over time everyone died (I like to think that Hurley & Ben ran the island for several thousand years). Some chose to meet after death and form a kind of limbo or purgatory where they could help each other learn to "let go". Then they all moved into the afterlife together. That's what we saw in the church at the end superimposed with Jack's death on the island. What that not-so-metaphorical cork held in, I don't know yet. Exotic matter? Evil?

people should take in consideration that lost is an allusion to life itself, everything in it is symbolic. The way the series started and the way it ends, is just like living in this world, we start not knowing why we're here and we ask countless questions and whys, but we end up in a very similar way we were born, without most of the answers we wanted, but with the feeling that we did something useful to this world, I'm not trying to bring an excuse, I'm just saying it's a lesson to be taken

If you invested all 6 years following the entire series from day 1 (and no, not watching it all in 2-3 months) and weren't pissed about all the loose ends, then kudos to you. @lillsecrets they did explain the ploar bears. in the 3rd season, they were held in the cages that they put kate & sawyer in, cause the hydra station, for the darmah initiative, on the other island was where they did likee animal experiments and stuff, so thats where they came from, :) as for the box that wasn't explained & the smoke monster did kill eko.. but i dont think they said why..
@lillsecrets alright the box was a metaphor, as Ben told John when he asked to see the box. He meant that if something needs to show up on the island, it will show up because it is fate that it would happen.

Anyone else notice the whole fire and water thing? Jacob was killed in fire, while the MiB was, in a sense, killed by water. Hell, ven the way the MiB kicked Jacob into the water and the way Jack kicked the MiB into the ocean looked the same. When the lava was clogged up, the peaceful water came back. They also foreshadowed the volcano way back in season 3 in Ben's DHARMA classroom. I thought it ended brilliantly

Basically what it comes down to is if you don't understand what's going on, you're not intelligent enough to catch all the various illusions and references to other people, places, things, times, names, and so on that make LOST what it is. LOST is not meant to be watched literally; rather, meant to be a watcher's own interpretation of things that one can think about and drift off into, but never fully understand.
Finale on the 23rd...to be honest, they fucked it up. They got rich, they got their fame, and then they got lazy and started spraying shit from their assholes on pieces of paper. They made it too complicated, they should have stuck to a couple of themes like time-travel and parallel universes, that would have/could have made a great finale.
I've been the biggest Lost nerd out there, and for the past few years been wondering whats going on but being patient cuz they always said they had a plan and would explain everything. but they've been promising answers to all the big mysteries this season and it hasn't happened as they said it would. it's clear to me now that they did have a plan, but got to caught up in creating mysteries and crap they thought was cool instead of answering questions.
I totally agree that the first seasons where the best. But i do think that some of these last episodes have been pretty good. I can't wait to see how they end it. But Nice video dude. Made me think :)

I already now how it will end... These all things were happening in Locke's head during his spine surgery while he was under anesthesia. While Jack was doing a surgery on his back he was fighting for his life. Eventually he will wake up at the end with fixed spine and see all doctors and nurses around him. There will be Jack, Kate, Sawyer etc.

@lillsecrets they did explain the ploar bears. in the 3rd season, they were held in the cages that they put kate & sawyer in, cause the hydra station, for the darmah initiative, on the other island was where they did likee animal experiments and stuff, so thats where they came from, :) as for the box that wasn't explained & the smoke monster did kill eko.. but i dont think they said why..

@lillsecrets alright the box was a metaphor, as Ben told John when he asked to see the box. He meant that if something needs to show up on the island, it will show up because it is fate that it would happen.

Anyone else notice the whole fire and water thing? Jacob was killed in fire, while the MiB was, in a sense, killed by water. Hell, ven the way the MiB kicked Jacob into the water and the way Jack kicked the MiB into the ocean looked the same. When the lava was clogged up, the peaceful water came back. They also foreshadowed the volcano way back in season 3 in Ben's DHARMA classroom. I thought it ended brilliantly

Wow, you're all pretty retarded. If they didn't have any idea how it would end, explain how they were building a runway FOR THE FINALE in season 3. Adam and Eve, from the beginning of season 1, being explained on the 3rd to last episode. I personally don't think there are too many questions to be answered, and the point of a work of art isn't to get to the end, it's what happens on the way. It was about the character development.

I guessed they were all dead (obviously I won my $100)... but I really had no need or desire to watch the show... Once I saw the finale I thought 2 things... 1 FUCK yah! I won! & 2 OMG they must have pissed off so many people with that cop out ending... but then I read your post...

Basically what it comes down to is if you don't understand what's going on, you're not intelligent enough to catch all the various illusions and references to other people, places, things, times, names, and so on that make LOST what it is. LOST is not meant to be watched literally; rather, meant to be a watcher's own interpretation of things that one can think about and drift off into, but never fully understand.

Finale on the 23rd...to be honest, they fucked it up. They got rich, they got their fame, and then they got lazy and started spraying shit from their assholes on pieces of paper. They made it too complicated, they should have stuck to a couple of themes like time-travel and parallel universes, that would have/could have made a great finale.

I've been the biggest Lost nerd out there, and for the past few years been wondering whats going on but being patient cuz they always said they had a plan and would explain everything. but they've been promising answers to all the big mysteries this season and it hasn't happened as they said it would. it's clear to me now that they did have a plan, but got to caught up in creating mysteries and crap they thought was cool instead of answering questions.

I already now how it will end... These all things were happening in Locke's head during his spine surgery while he was under anesthesia. While Jack was doing a surgery on his back he was fighting for his life. Eventually he will wake up at the end with fixed spine and see all doctors and nurses around him. There will be Jack, Kate, Sawyer etc.
