  • I have always wondered which, if any, of the many newscast clips circulating are actually from Feb. '59, or if they are all recreations. cheers

  • just to let everyone know the buddy holly story with Gary busey was totally wrong in the movie buddy holly was upset didn't want to go on the tour because he didn't want to leave maria Elena when the real story is that maria Elena wasn't feeling well that is why she didn't go on this tour later to find out she had a miscarriage in fact even the crickets Tommy allsup said that the movie totally does not protray the real buddy holly may all these great singers rest in peace!!

  • Well, wasn't Buddy unhappy about going because he wife was suppose to have their daughter soon?

  • Thanks for uploading. I'd never heard the second news broadcast before, thanks for sharing it with us. I noticed that the second news broadcast said that Buddy Holly was 21, he was 22 when he died. It said that the plane never made it off the ground too. How could it crash then? Thanks for sharing it....

  • Yeah Buddy was reading a script, but he was about as happy about going on this tour as most people would be about eating a crap sandwich.

  • verga ezkuchar ezo ez eztrezador

ezkuchar zuz vozez antez de morir

    =S

  • @The666Duckman that suck man you are an stupid boy jejeje

  • rip ritchie valens tonight is gonna be 51 years when they died i might watch la bamba to night or tomorrow

  • The only one that sounded like he could cut a good promo was the Bopper. But then again, he was a radio DJ. They had too much reverb behind Ritchie's voice and you could tell Buddy was reading a script by the way he was talking.

  • Hey, I know everyone's slapping negatives on me about my comment, but I've got radio experience, I know how to cut a promo and I know what I'm talking about.

  • @ChrisFrenchComedy But they are singers. Not radio D.J's. Only The Big Bopper was. So does it really matter how they sound?

  • Are Dion and the Belmonts (Carlo, for sure) the only surviving performers from the Surf Ballroom "Winter Dance Party" gig?

  • When I was on a school trip to Memphis, Tennessee for the tenth annual White Privilege Conference, we were in the kitchen area in the lobby of our hotel and one of the chaperones mentioned that I was a fan of these three guys to someone in the corner eating dinner, and he told me that he was actually at the Surf Ballroom and saw them play the night before they died!!!

  • That is fuckin' scary. What a huge loss.

  • Not my Ritchie Bob, not Ritchie!

  • A very sad day for the music world.
