  • My problem with AT&T was that I cancelled voip and was unable to get back my landline due to AT&T's huge incompetency, but I was lucky that my Uverse internet service worked right away as soon as I installed my gateway. The big silver lining is that they forced me to switch to a voip service (Ooma) which will save me over $500 every year and I won't have to deal with AT&T anymore for my phone service!! And the NSA can't listen to my calls anymore either!

  • Stop being a Stupid DumbAss... call customer support 1-800-288-2020, voice promts will ask for telephone # enter it, then say Exsisting Uverse, Then Billing, Tech Support or Cancelations. Stop being Pricks.

  • that's indeed poor service,see, thing is they have multiple office all around US and yet only have a single number to dial except of having a direct dial number for specific departments. This results in the customer having to deal with the annoying voice recording just for em to be routed to the right department and be placed on hold for 30 mins on queue.

  • I am a atat uverse costumer and each year that i was with them they lowered my bill for bien a long timed costumer. Their Uverse service is really great. Uverse is the best cable company out their!!!

  • @Eagle99001 Damn straight, last month we had over 400 dollars in charges one month and even after paying them off we got a $335 dollar bill the next month. And this mans depiction of thier customer service is 100% accurate I was hung up on and also sent to automated service several times which is completely useless, and after having to brow-beat the people to send a technician out they want to charge $140 dollars for thier own faulty equipment breaking down. ATT uverse are pirates DO NOT BUY.

  • I spent 5 hours yesterday doing this very thing with AT&T and they STILL haven't fixed the problem. I am dumping Uverse as it is a total cluster F&%#. This is just for simple internet. I'm going with just basic DSL, it is much easier and less complicated and more reliable than this Uverse nonsense.

BUT im almost positive thats only because my room, where i usually chill is a dead zone fr internet I have to disagree with any TV problem you may be having. I get more HD channels than i did with comcast great customer service, their out at my house within a day, the workers are friendly and usually get things fixed within a few hours

  • My experience almost precisely. The only exception is that you can understand the customer service reps. The company completely, totally blows. Never thought I'd say this but I can't wait to go back to Comcast.

  • Don't necessarily blame the agents you speak to on the phone...it's the company itself putting all sorts of pressure on its employees to do their job, short changing them on the amount of time they need to fix the issue, and the the management who drive around the Lexus and BMWs dictate policy that shows they have no idea how the job is really done. The agents then have the "honor" of passing on that "brilliant" policy onto the customers. The lame scripts that HAVE to be read off don't help.

  • AT&T is so tied up with red tape between all the departments that almost nothing can ever get fixed. Agents also have certain stats they have to meet, like keeping their call times down low rather than giving agents as much time as necessary to fix problems, and when six technicians can't fix a problem the agents, in a call center, have to come up with whatever mystical reason the problem can't get fixed...and all they can ever do is send yet another tech. They're as stuck as the customer.

  • I hate AT&T so much, they charge for two months, when they already disconnected my internet. i called them to cancel it in the beginning of the month, but they did not do it until the next month.

    I worked for them for a year, and their system is designed to screw over the customer. Back when I was there, they were more concerned about "the scripts" the agents used then they were about fixing a broken system. Bottom line as a Uverse agent: If your phone call is longer than 10 minutes, and you don't do all 9.5 minutes of scripting, your fired. If you actually help solve a problem, that is grounds for immediate termination. Really sad.

  • So funny and so true—unfortunately. I used at&t U-verse HDTV for only a week because the "High Definition" (used loosely) was so obviously SD up converted. Looked AWFUL! Also, since the HDTV service shares the same bandwidth with "High Speed" (again used loosely) internet, whenever a popular show such as NCIS was airing internet speed would slow to a crawl—bare3y 700kbps.

  • I used to be one of those tech support agents. It's unfortunate, but things like this would happen quite often. It was very frustrating being the person on the other side of the phone as well, because they didn't really have any proper procedures to deal with something like this even though it would happen so often. Often I would find myself being bounced back and forth between the phone repair and the uverse dispatch center trying to get the issue resolved for the customer.

  • The reason that AT&T makes the voice menu that long is because they try to buy you guys some time in order for the company to get it of traffic. Just like in rush hours, all the entrances to Freeway got the traffic lights turned on, so each car can enter freeway one at a time to prevent from getting all hold up on freeway

  • Gotta Love ATT. They have the best customer service. This video confirms how great they are. A few years ago while they were installing DSL, they cut off my telephone for several days as well. I got almost no credit on my phone bill for the phone being dead. I eventually switched to another phone company.

  • Yeah, I will agree that was pretty bad. However, take a step back and look at the size of the company.  Miscommunication and problems are bound to happen. Just yesterday around 5pm I lost all uverse service. I waited for three hours to see if service would come back. Had to end up call tech support. They had a guy out at 8:10am this morning. I was surprised to see them out so fast. The guy explained if you are on Uverse you are top of the list., POTS service is at the bottom now...

I work at att uverse in the tech support. just one thing i need to get off my chest... when the agent says at the end of the call "you'll be getting a survey to the email address on the account in about 2-3 days, i was just making sure you were very satisfied with MY service with you today" this is what every agent is suppose to say and it about the AGENT and the service that they provided ... as in what THEY can do.. not the company.

    PS the magical word is "supervisor"

  • Everyone has their own take on if something sucks or not. Am I saying that AT&T uVerse never has any problems? Heck no! Am I saying that that makes Comcast, Dish, or any other television provider that much better? No friggin' way! You can go to two different people on the same street with AT&T uVerse and one may say it's the bes thing that ever happened to them while the other hates it. Technology advances every day and one way or another, everything is going fiber optic. Remember VHS to DVDs?

  • I had that crap for only 3 months and canceled the service. I went back to Charter cable. They have a better deal and great customer service than Att you don't get the run around.

  • You have captured the exasperation that we all feel when routed into the circular phone support system of ATT. I love the reassuring names they give to their "agencies" such as the "Expedite Center" or the "Escalation Department". Did I detect passive aggressive sarcasm in your tone of voice at times? Perhaps a few cynical facial expressions too? All I can say is, this is a nicely produced video and the "suits" at ATT should be forced to watch it at least 10 times a day.

    Yes the tech came out and disconnected your phone service, yes he had to escalate to an outside line tech, yes this sucks.... but there is no way of telling what the distance of your home is to the cross box until you are connected.

    Then you wana get made about the wait times on the phone. Hang up and stop make stupid videos.

  • uverse and att is full of shit when i worked there i gave all my customers free tech dispatches and adjustments to their bill so that they were happy with the service i provided them but apparently customer service is upselling more products to yall and wasting your time by transferring you all over the place smh unfortunately thats how it is in whatever call center for whatever company ppl work for no one care's about the customer they care only about your money...
