These young ladies speak very wisely about the issue of modesty in dress and acting appropriately as a Christian woman. We are blessed to have them speaking about this.
I wouldn't "grunge down" too much. Don't show off jewelry & designer clothes so you look rich, but your much more at risk from looking poor or possibly homeless than from going sleeveless. The most trafficked women are the poor, immigrants, and minorities.
Also, like whiskeykel mentioned, if you travel alone frequently or live alone and are comfortable with guns it is worth getting a concealed carry permit. At the very least, many communities have free or cheap self defense classes for women.
The heat in the south is severe in the summer. Anyone who wore a jacket would stand out which is something that the woman said not to do. Also, dressing in an overly sloppy manner will make you stand out too.
Wow, I had no idea about truckers, my husband is a trucker, only for the last couple of months, but he has taken some of our children with him. I will def. let him know also, I am sure he has no idea of this either! thanks for this, and I would love to hear more on the subject in our country.
Thanks for the video. Girls should be able to teach one another these lessons. The Bible says,"we are not ignorant of his devices". Ignorance should never be encouraged at this age.
@amyyyamy Your fault? That could probably be contested. However, now you have heard, now you know, now you DO have a resposibility that you did not before. And yes, there is safety in these precautions. I have experienced it
@thinkpresent i am deeply sorry if you have experienced sexual assault, but do you really think it's your fault if you're wearing sexy outfits? it's NEVER your fault. even if you were running aounrd naked on the streets, NO ONE has the right to touch or harm you!!! on the other hand, do you really think dressing "un"-sexy will make for the safety nothing ever happens to you?? btw just because i have heard what the ladies in the video are saying does not mean i think it's true or makes sense...
@amyyyamy Hey, I have not been assaulted. Sorry i gave that impression. yes, in our minds it is no one's right to do harm to us, but face it, not everyone lives according to our rights. And that is where we need to take precautions. Not for those who respect us, but for those who don't. I don't know what you believe, but there's a reason God clothed Adam &Eve(Gen. 3:21), and also why women are told to be modest (not frumpy) 1Timothy 2:9
@thinkpresent thanks for clarifying, sorry for misinterpreting! i am not a believer of religion of any sort, so i dont think the bible applies to me. also, i can see your point, i just dont think it will prevent people from doing anything when they want to or get certain impulses? not sure about the wording. i also just want to live the life i want to live and that should be possible in society, including dressing the way i want to. and that is what i do. if that attracts anyone to do something

"It's a hot night, and nobody else is wearing a jacket, but I'm going to wear a jacket because I don't want to draw attention to myself."
I hate to tell you this, but...people stare when you dress differently from everybody else.

so the logic in this is: i wear sexy outfits, like mini shirts or heels, i'r my fault when i get molested?
