  • I miss the 'old' commericals. They were so much better than they are today. For anything really, not just mcdonalds.

  • Yeah they do seem to disappear when it gets cold haha

  • Ronald mcdonald looks like a crack addict.

  • @Slatrelle LOL!!! You made my day alot brighter

  • Man, mcdonalds marketing scheme was genious.

  • It does remind me of a simplier time :) Thanks for posting.

  • Aww come on it's a joke I remember this commercial well.

  • I love the older Christmas Holiday commercials they are so cute. This one brings back alot of memories for me.

  • @smithcj97 And I don't need to make a comeback asshole because you aren't that freaking important despite what is thought in your little world you are an annoying little brat full of yourself as well as b.s. don't worry about how 'grown' I am little boy thinking you are so wise but just a snotty punk shouldn't have expected more.

  • @smithcj97 YOU are the one who wnet there stupid in the first place and if anything the entire planet should be blocked from your arroagnt tiresome headache inducing self serving arrogant beyond belief tripe prick. Furthermore I don't give a SHIT about hurting your pathetic little feelings because I don't give a RAT'S ASS about you pompous insufferable prick. By the way I curse because you really don't deserve any better.

  • @smithcj97 you are a STUPID ASS fuck and your comment made no sense dumb bitch!! And for your info there ARE a lot of white males like Woody Allen and Roman Polanski and Micheal Kennedy and the pedophile priests and those shitholes on to catch a predator but you shitheads don't talk about them though!!

  • I haven't seen this in years! My dad recorded the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special off TV a number of years ago, and this commercial was on the video.

  • That face about 15 seconds in is a face that speaks, "I touched half of these children, and I'm OK with that!!!"

  • Ronald actually went over to kill that kid with his skate haha...you can tell it is an old Mc Donald's commercial cause there's very little blacks and Hispanics in it. like anyone is that happy to go to Mc Donald's

  • @SuperCrudedude

Lets not bring race into this for God sakes its a Christmas Commercial!

  • @SuperCrudedude Lol can't hispanics or black kids they hate the cold......nonetheless skating with Ronald McDonald?. What are you thinking?

  • @cldbstrjr That doesn't look like Scott,Scott is shorter.

  • @cldbstrjr Met him twice.First time he was nice and friendly.Second time, not.I was the only person asking him for a autograph and he wasn't busy.Guess it wasn't his day.Sorry he has had so many health problems the last few years.

  • @jwindyboy Believe or not moron, there was a time when the world wasn't full of nutjobs & cynics like you.

  • I like the music in these old commercials. It's complete garbage in today's commercials

  • @Cuteblondie1972 Were you born in 1972? I was born in 1973, and was 10 when this came out. A classic. This boy is probably in his early 30s now. I loved the music at the very end of these commercials. "Have a Happy Holiday...from McDonald's!"

  • this mcdonalds commercial is still my favorite i alwatys liked this commercial cause it brings back memories of how christmas was and how mcdonalds gave away thier christmas glasses and christmas muppets

  • You just don't get that "feel good" vibe from TV anymore.

The whole damn world got extremely sensitive.

  • the face ronald makes at :15 is just plain creepy.

  • I remember this commercial when I was little!!!! I love it!! Let's bring back the good, ole' commercials!!!

  • @WVgirllivin4Christ i am all for that..oh i miss the wholesome clean ads..i can recall some that were done by certain religions or even ads for alcohol

  • @smithcj97 truth be told!

  • i met him (Ronald) twice when i was little.

  • Well, 1967mustang, your point is well taken... on the other hand, Christmas is not a holiday that was ever commanded in the Bible to be celebrated. Some conservative churches don't celebrate the Christ aspect of the holiday for that reason. I understand everybody's point of view on it, but as for me... it's Christ. Never taught my kids about Santa Claus.

(And they have no idea who Ronald McDonald is!)

I still like these old commercials anyway.

  • so no presents for your family on christmas?

  • Yup, we got presents; still get 'em. Even sat on Santa's lap. Just wasn't taught, nor did I teach my kids, that he was real. I myself celebrated it as a Christian holiday, but it I don't argue with the ones who don't.

  • thats cool, keep the christian values intact at christmas!

  • You got to hand it to McDonalds. The only company that knew how to be creative in their commercials. Too bad the food don't taste the same.

  • Why did these awesome McDonalds commercials stop? Is it because it became unethical to market fast food directly to kids? That makes me sad... parents should make the kids make healthy choices at McDonalds. They shouldn't cut back commercial quality.

  • Probably. Something about somebody (no names) wanting our kids to eat greener. The same people that don't want kids to play competitive games at recess. I guess the next thing to go is youtube so people like us can't remember what quality TV was.

  • I've used to seen this during the Macy's Thanksgiving parade on NBC & on CBS's The Graet American Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast. (when CBS used to shown All the parades from New York,Philadelphia,Detroit,Honolulu & Toronto Ontario Canada!)

  • i miss all the old christmas commercials

like mcdonalds Kmart coca cola christmas commercial and all the christmas cartoons like the flinstones and tom and jerry christmas those were the great christmas commercials

  • this was back when commercials were longer and had an actual story

  • back when mcdonalds wa good. yeah it was a treat when i was a kid. we didnt get 2 go there all the time cause my mom and dad knew it wasnt good 4 you. also the fact is back then in the 80's most moms stayed at home and cooked a home cooked meal. now both parents work and go 2 a fast food joint or the grocery deli and get sumthing and bring it home.

  • you bet it was great.....tallow fat deep "twice" fried french fries and "real" beef hamburgers. I remember BIG MAC'S for grown ups.....now the every age gets one....wonder why kids along with their parents are obese.

  • It was a "feel good" commericial...... when McDonalds was a treat....not your daily meal.

  • lol that was funny

  • @supremes1964 ain't that the truth, I presume the year on your username here tells me you are 10 years older than me, but I remember hardly ever getting to go to Mcdonalds as a kid but when I did it sure was a treat.

  • anybody who asks "what does this have to do with burgers" has obviously never taken a marketing class. commercials like this are memorable(hence being on youtube) and make people remember your product, and see it in a good light. everybody knows mcds sells burgers and fries, we don't need to hear it in a commercial. they make commercials like this to keep their name out there, and to give people a warm fuzzy feeling about the holidays and mcds in general.

  • I remember this commercial very well. I feel so old!

  • @purplegurl79 it does`nt seem that long ago. cliche alart! Where did the time go?

  • what does this have to do with mcdonalds?

  • imagine a world pre supersize.. McDonald's was a treat back then not a lifestyle like it is today. Sure they had deep fried fruit pies and burgers. In the 1980's no one used it as their prime source of nutrition. It is not an evil corporation. It is just the choices that people have made over the years that make it look so.

  • wow they made really weird commercials back in the day.

  • This commercial is cute and all but this has to do with french fries and burgers how?

  • The world was a different place back then and Mcdonalds used to promote other things like children's charities and helping others rather than than just greasy burgers like today.

  • McDonald's is a soulless corporation and this is just a facade hope that helped

  • Not really Joe402, that's a pretty vague point. Can you elaborate more and support what you claim with any real facts or a better argument? Or are you just another guy online that hides behind a pc and has the answers to everything?

  • The second one.

  • not really creepy, cute actually.

  • wow this is from 1983? doesn't seem that old, thought it was late 80s or early 90s

  • @kcmet79 ditto

  • Commercials never look like this anymore.

  • i remember this commercial like it was yesterday.lol

  • me too.

  • aww so cute

  • best mc commerical ever,memmories

  • I have to amit Ronald Mcdonlad didn't even think of teaching that kid how to skate on ice,and even the kids were mean to him, but at the end the kids were nice? what the &$#%$!

  • O_O

  • can any body here take a joke

  • hahaha. Yeah, such a fucking bastard

  • This really was one of McDonald's best commercials.

It brings back a lot of good memories of growing up.

  • Damn he is scary

  • Heart-warming commercial this was, even if it was 25 years old, now.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!

  • i like this commercial! its heartwarming and sweet! nice seeing it again! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

  • It's people like MeanMrMustard that ruin the holidays for everyone else. He probably hates all Christians because he was rejected from the church when he married his gay lover.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE ELSE!

  • gayest shit i've ever seen

  • come to ronald children... lol

seriously, i HATE it how people have to ruin this time of year by being whiny pricks and being offended by the MENTION of a religeon other than their own. having a tree and not a menorah or something ISN'T disrespecting any religeon... maybe a lot of people celebrate christmas? if it "offends" you seeing a santa or tree on the street, you have 3 options:

    ignore it

    don't look at it

blind yourself, because one easily offended dope isn't going to change anything

  • he jus seems like some creeper looking to run off with the smllest child

  • aww i remember those days

  • I thought Ronald McDonald was a woman until I was like 12 years old (don't ask me why?)

  • What in the hell is this?

  • DUUUUUDE!!! Totally remember this commerical!! its not that creepy, ronald helps kids with cancer. Now the Burger King guy is totally CREEEEEPY!!! :O

  • I wasn't born yet, but watching it, it's not creepy IMO, just cheesy really

  • I know, it kind of reminds me of the movie IT!! Haha

  • sorry but I really don't see anything creepy about this video. nor do I see anything particularly "holidayish" about it. and it doesn't advertise mcdonald's well.

  • I remember this commercial too. It's not that creepy, but seeing it now I can understand how it would be considered so today.

  • its suppose too be a fast food commercial not a love story....what is he doing to the kid in the air??? Thank god its from 1983.

  • so fricken creepy..

  • AHHH! Michael jackson

  • Oh man, I actually remember that commercial. That's sad.

  • Aww, I didn't mind this commercial. Would have liked it more if it had said, "Merry Christmas" at the end.

  • It says Happy Holidays because Christmas isn't the only holiday in December so you brainwashed Christians please stop pretending that and start showing that love you supposedly learn in church. Did you see anything about Jesus in this commercial? No, so stop pretending.

  • Hmm you bashing CHristians doesn't make you any better than they are. Maybe you'd be wise just to keep your ignorant mouth closed.

  • Um, except pointing out that there are more holidays during December than just Xmas isn't ignorant, it's informative. If anyone's ignorant, it's the brainwashed (note: I'm being specific) Christians who pretend Xmas is the only holiday, or at least the only one that matters. How arrogant.

  • clearly jewish

  • I am not Jewish or of any religion. I'm atheist actually. My point still stands. DECEMBER HAS MORE THAN ONE HOLIDAY. STOP PRETENDING IT DOESN'T. CHRISTIANS AREN'T THE ONLY RELIGIOUS PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. HAPPY HOLIDAYS INCLUDES EVERYONE, NOT JUST BRAINWASHED CHRISTIANS. Did that help any?

  • You suck, Christmas is more than a religious thing. Some Jews even celebrate Christmas cause of the family connection and gift giving. Hannukah wasn't even that big of a Jewish holiday but they raised it's profile to compete with Christmas. And what the fuck is Kwanza? Most black people I know are Christians who celebrate Christmas. Christmas is a bigger deal than those, besides America's like what? 75% Christian (I'm not religious either FYI). Christmas is a cultural event, not just a holiday.

  • You are proving my point. Nothing but ignorance spewing out of your mouth. I don't care if 99.9 percent of Americans are Christians and .1 % worship ancient Greek gods, "Happy Holidays" includes all holidays in December. It doesn't matter which has the most believers, it's an all-inclusive phrase, because equality is more important. Stop preaching the hate. Stop contributing to the hate. How would you like it if some Jewish person complained that it doesn't say Happy Hannukah?

  • Hate? You can't say marry Christmas to other Christmas celebraters? Why does it bother you? When you say Merry Christmas, you're talking to the other Christians. By your logic Jews can't wish each other Happy Passover because of Easter. Or if some cult also has a holiday around that time. There's no big injustice and it definitely isn't Christian brainwashing. You probably think you're so smart, knowing the "truth" about Christian. People are just trying to have a good time except you. Fuck you.

  • Ignorant moron, why don't you scroll up a little and see how this particular conversation started. Some brainwashed Christian idiot said they would've liked it better if it said Merry Christmas, instead of Happy Holidays. I corrected them and told them it's fine the way it is because Xmas is not the only holiday in Dec. AND THAT FACT REMAINS. I am not saying one can not say merry Xmas. Go ahead and say it. What I am defining is what Happy Holidays means. It includes all holidays in Dec.

  • Or if some black non-Christians complained about Kwanzaa. I think you make very valid points. Happy Holidays is totally sufficient...Christmas may be the biggest, but it isn't the only holiday. It shouldn't trump other people's beliefs. And just from a financial standpoint, it's probably a bit more prudent for Mickey D's and other franchises not to be so exclusive in their wishes ;) Some of you need to lighten up a bit.

  • Exactly! Wow, look how easy it was for this guy to completely understand. It's too bad everyone can't be this open minded and level headed.

  • dude you need to chill out and stop acting like a disgust. Christians arent brainwashed, they choose to believe it. and second they don't think its the only holiday, they look at FACTS and see xmas is the most popular, thats why they say it should say that. you judge them because of their RELIGION and call them arrogant because of what THEY believe in, your sounding arrogant yourself. theres people who celebrate xmas and arent even christian!

  • Heh, I'm dissapointed.

  • But really though, it's not that creepy

  • XD This commercial would have scared the crap out of me as a little kid.

  • Nothing personal against McDonalds, but nowadays, if some guy dressed as a clown came out of nowhere and tried to play with my kid, I'd be a little scared.

  • WOW, I Just Got The Best Flashback Of My Childhood. Up Yours AOL

  • AOL can shove it.

  • Put the poor child down, Ronald!!

  • Ronald looks a little bit overweight here... or is it just the scarf and the stripes?

  • Nope, no craziness here. Maybe only in the warped minds of the AOL peeps.

  • No creepiness here.

  • I can't believe this commercial is so old.

  • 0:46 ahahahahah creeper

  • Wow, that was creepy.

  • Okay, AOL said this was creepy. DONT SEE IT. As a matter of fact I liked this commercial, I remember it quite well when I was about 6 yrs. old. Creepy. ????????

  • AOL said this was a creepy commercial. I remember it and I thought it was good, I mean from remembering it as a kid. I still think it's a good commercial - worth airing even today.

  • Scariest thing on Earth.

I'm deathly afraid of clowns, not to mention the background music sends shivers down my spine. :[

I'm dumb. Why would I watch this?! xD

  • creepy

  • ummm... i don't see the creepyness... at all

  • AOL said this is creepy

  • i don't see what is so creepy about it

  • Ronald McDonald = Creepy.

  • haha I wonder how many people looked this up after seeing AOL called this commercial "creepy"!

  • Yeah im one of those people who did that lol

  • I'm fine with clowns, but Ronald is just plain creepy here. Maybe it was Michael Jackson in a clown costume with his "kid friends" at neverland?! lmao

  • Ok then..........

  • Ok, this video is so NOT creepy unless you already dislike clowns.. LOL
