!!!!! LOVE IT sorry it is not a useful comment but i love it i played it on the violin loved it !!! hehe your right about the half position for th butterflie ! :)
I watched this clip again just now and really, it's so refreshingly delightful.
As a matter of fact, even the various outdoor noises, the symbol of our day-to-day odd disturbances including BlueViolin1977's' hiccups and gurgling, are only to enhance and accentuate contrastingly the timeless charm and invincible grace of this piece.
I've always felt that there's something inherently sumptuous and effortlessly de-luxe, almost palatial in Yo-Yo Ma's cello notes, even in the light, picnic atmosphere like this one. A fresh scent of green leaves and youthful Yo-Yo Ma are forever captured here in this delightful clip!
No no wait, Yo-Yo, wait! Stop running away from the camera wait, wait! We can't zoom into you- .....forget it. Just make it look like he's spinning and we'll call it a video.
but yes it is quite interesting that YoYo Ma (Ma YoYo...whatever) put this piece together with the city planning and garden stuff. "Where" is he in the minuets and gigue (G major)?
aww. he always looks so happy when he is playing. aside from that, thanks for posting this. im currently playing it on the viola and its great to hear a master play it. this sounds so pretty
This piece should be called flight of the yo ma,flight of the butterfly or even flight of the bumble bee.The circular motion and the buzzing sound got me all dizzy hahahaaa..dude it felt like i was on ecstacy,yo yo duuuude thanks ma man !!
Yo-Yo Ma is the most important musician of this century. This piece proves it!

@nancyinpenn It is baroque pitch, which is lower than the contemporary concert pitch of A=440 to 446 Hz.

just a note to everyone he is playing with his strings tuned down. it is a certain type of achievable pitch tone that he desired for the piece.

Yo-Yo Ma is really good. Better than Rostropovich I really don't like his interpretations of Bach's pieces, they're far too boring and almost rushed.

There is no need for all the fancy shots, the piece is already beautiful buy itself. But the butterfly on the cello is pretty cool though.
