Do you have any more of this particular performance of The Legend of Love? It is such a beautiful ballet, I never get to see it live and the music is astonishingly beautiful, as is Obravtsova's musicality.

Yes, please, post whole performance! I regret I missed ketinoa's Legend with Lopatkina and Osmolkina, because I wanted to see it "later". And version with Obraztsova and Nioradze will be even more exciting for me.

She looks absolutely perfect to me - she is one of my favourite ballerinas and she never looks short - just beautiful.

And I wonder if she will be allowed to dance Nikiya. Bayadere seems to be another ballet with those stupid height requirements.

She has not even performed Gamzatti, so prospects are not promising now. She graduated in 2002, so lack of experience is not a consideration. It probably comes down to being too short.

How short is she? When I was dancing it wasn't the lack of height in dancers that was a problem, it was problem of being too tall that stopped dancers from performing a role - from even getting into a ballet company, also!!!!

Times have changed and now many former stars of the Kirov are believed that they would have had serious difficulties in today's favoritism for bodies. Two prime examples that are believed would have had diffiuclties at the Mariinsky, if they had the same bodies as many years ago, are Gabriela Komleva and Alla Sizova. Sizova was very short and Komleva combined shortness & slight extra weight. With their immense talent, it is dificult to think that they would have been rejected in today's company.

I have heard people claim that she is as tall as 5 foot 4 inches, but that is impossible. She likely is not over 5 foot tall. I think that it is almost certain that she cannot be over 5 foot one inch.

But on the other hand - I have some pictures of her with Shklyarov, I've seen a lot of videos with them and it seems impossible that he is taller than her more than 8 inches, and if you look at video of Corsaire pdd (or actually pas de trois) with Lopatkina and Shkyarov, he is her height or taller, and she's 5'9''. So, after this mathematics, Evgenia is rather 5'1''-5'2''.

Of course all of it is more-or-less, but 5 inches sounds impossible to me.

Without actual measuring, it is hard to know. When you do not know the height of one person, it is impossible to compare one person with that person. I think Shklyarov is 5'8". I think Lopatkina is 5'8" despite supposed 5'9".

I still would say Genia is 5'0", but only someone measuring would know.

Last comment is that I never mentioned 5 inches, so I do not understand what the 5 inches means.

I agree with "palubob" - it is beautifuly filmed. Obravtsova is perfect for this role of sister - she has a very sweet and beautiful face and her dancing is wonderful. Thank you so much for putting this video clip on YT. You are very kind. :)

Nioradze. Obraztsova has done 2 Legend of Loves. The first was with Gumerova in 2004 and the second one in 2006 with Nioradze.
