Out of curiousity, how hard is this piece? I'm thinking of playing it.
I'm currently playing Liszt's Consolation no. 6, Alkan's Allegro Barbaro and his sonatina, the Brahms op 39 Waltz no 1., and a Scarlatti Sonata (an easy one, bellow my skill level). Do you think I could? This is a gorgeous piece, and I would love to play it if I could do it justice.
@thegreatapologist Yes, it is a lovely piece. The Liapunov Trancendentals should be viewed as being on the same difficulty level as the Liszt ones; that being said, this is by no means the hardest of them. The easy way to find out if you can play it would be to try the climax passage (the minute from about 7.05 on). That's definitely the hardest section (my playing could certainly be tidier here): the left hand is very tricky, as is retaining background/foreground distinction between the parts.
Beautiful piece and nicely played! Question: have you ever played any salon pieces by Jules Schulhoff? He had a grand waltz that is a super-nice virtuoso piece. Anyway, I truly enjoy your submissions -- thanks for letting us hear some great pieces of music!
I've had a little look at his "Pizzicato Polka" transcription, but not enough to take it to public performance level. Disappointingly, I just checked IMSLP and found he doesn't have a page there yet.
I wish I could play piano half as well as that.

If I may ask you; do you, by any chance, plan to record other pieces from Op.11 ?
n°8 "Poème épic" or n°10 Lesghinka could be awesome issues.
Be that as it may, thanks again for giving convincing advocacy to this less-know repertoire.
