The worst part about this is the angle you chose. Which is particularly apparent when the event horizon juts out straight towards the camera even though it's viewd from an angle. If you'd done it straight it would have looked 5x better.

Why is the Stargate centre ring spinning - there's no motors attached to it. For that matter, why do we hear the sound effects of the motors dragging the centre ring around when they aren't there?

If a DHD is hooked to it instead of using motors and power source, then the chevrons should simply light up one by one.
