I almost expect the big guy to plant a hand on the little guy's forehead and say "ok, try to hit me now" ^.^ Little man got good spirit though. Ossu!.
Hell to be honest I wouldn't have used much Karate but just to get close then jump on him to use Ninjutsu......or just kick him in the nutts hahahahaha. nah but really, he did awsome!
I thought the big guy was a very nice person. It was more of a fine exhibition than an actual battle, very cool to see. Martial Arts is always about stuff like this, real world real stuff cuz the real world has no weight division. Sometimes U hav 2 fight a guy shorter than you which makes it difficult to hit, sometimes you gotta fight a guy 200 lbs heavier than you.
Wow, I'm 5'2 and when I fought a kid that was 6'3, I gained major respect because they act as if height is a big difference. I didn't notice, to me its all about the size of your heart.
although little man clearly fought really hard, truth is you can see the big guy holding back in the opening minute. lots of respect - this is what martial arts are about, not those ridiculous roid rager mma fighters
Wow, this is shit man. If you want to see perfect Karate watch "Vedimed," downloads on youtube to see the most perfect Karate in the world. Feel free to comment. @Vedimed. Vedimed and Seiryu kata is the most perfect in the world. No negative comments please.
Pretty good. Lol this reminds me when I won a match(point/tag sparring) simply because the guy was terrified of me. (he told me after my last fight and it showed during ours.) It was a david and goliath match but I wasn't as small as david. Fear and anxiety held him back. Near the end, his sensei whispers to him and then, with tears in his eyes, well he went into Jedi mode(with force). Felt like his strengh and focus tripled what it was, It was like he was trying to take me out(not win). O_o
@Amithrius everyone's rooting for the little guy because he's showing some serious balls to charge at the Big Bald Brute like that and still lose with respect. That's what karate, no matter the style, is all about. Is to act fearless despite the danger ahead of you, no matter how big. Ossu
@brunolp18 A true warrior never underestimates the opponent or situation & never overestimates their skill. They are a thinking, strategizing person & know when they are outmatched & should step aside or wait until the odds are in their favor. To blindly & fearlessly charge headlong into insurmountable odds is & suicide. This is not the way of a true warrior. I know you were trying to stress bravery, but there is a fine line between bravery & idiocy. Pick your battles wisely.
@namayake But we're talking about a competition, he should step aside and walk away from the challenge? And also, he would choose his battles in real situations, trying to avoid them, but if the encounter is eminent and unavoidable, you stand your ground and defend yourself.
i normally don't watch these kinda videos...can some people tell me HOW THE FUCK A HUMAN CAN TAKE THIS MANY HITS...i reckon the average person wud be down by about the 3rd punch....
@SLHappyEmo1001 It's training; a basic drill that these fighters have done is trading leg kicks and punches to the body to build toughness (and getting used to hitting someone). It sounds kind of brutal, but muscular training and repeated trauma can make you tough enough to take these repeated hits. Our bodies have an amazing capacity to adapt to the tough stuff, but it takes a lot of time.
That said, there's a very good reason they don't allow head punches.
@ThomasWinkworth Glauber Feitosa. He's not only made the "brazillian kick" famous [I think is nothing more than a feinted mawashi geri jodan] , but he IS brazillian.
@brunolp18 yeah thts it, but how can you say its "nothing more than a feinted kick", fighting is all about deception and in hand to hand combat there is not many deceptive moves at all that can be used to decieve your opponent instantly, i can only think of one more and thats the "superman punch"
@ThomasWinkworth Sorry, I never intended to underestimate it. I meant that the Brazillian Kick is, bottom-line, a mawashi-geri with an up-down feint add to it . And there are A LOT of deceitful movements throughout a number of martial arts. The deceiving is not on the movement itself, but how u apply it and the technique built up behind it.
@brunolp18 Dude, please name some. In order to decieve someone to drop their guard you have to do a fake low attack and strike high or a fake high attack and strike low. I don't think are A LOT like you say.
Fake low kick into a high kick. (Brazilian Kick)
Fake low kick into a high punch. (Superman Punch)
Fake low punch into a high punch (very hard to execute properly and leaves you very vulnerable)
Fake low punch into a high kick (is that even practical?)
@ThomasWinkworth Mate, u r thinking is too superficial. U could feint left/right and attack right/left. And there are not only one type of high punch. Feint a straight punch and deliver a lateral one. Feint a mae geri and deliver a yoko geri. Or faint a mae geri and as you land, twist it into a ushiro geri. And there's also mae tobi geri, that's a great feint strike. The possibilities are infinite... continues...
@brunolp18 People have two arms... and tend to only use one arm to block, basic boxing stance for example. Your trying to remove their entire guard, and if you look strictly at boxing for example there is only one way to decieve and that's to fake a low body shot, and i've only seen muhammad ali do that and it is not instant, you have to give them a few low body shots beforehand to garuntee the deception. Speed is the next important thing so realistically the only punch is the straight punch.
@ThomasWinkworth part 2... Feinting is not only too drop ur opponent's guard... is also to control ur opponent. Force him left and when he does, strike him. The feint gives ur enemy something to pay attention while u strike him. Open ur guard and let him come, when he does, dodge left and finish the fight.
How tall is the small guy? 4 ft? The small guy looks like a kid too. The large guy looks like he's 6ft or something. I can't believe they let a match like this happen. Totally one-sided match. Reminds me of that Fulton vs Bullock fight where the difference in weight resulted in near fatal consequences.
short guy needed a better gameplan. Basically he should have went for the leg kicks. Tall guy's reach is disgustingly advantaged, of course he'd land a lot of hits. Coming from another short guy, best bet is to try keeping out of arms reach, and punishing that leg until he falls like a tree.
I have total respect for this smaller guy. He has more guts then most of the commenting guys here. He has true fighting spirit and doesn´t back down. He gives the great one (Glaube Feitosa) all he has to give, and believe me even though he is that small his fists hurt. Oooozz!
Yes full contact no punches to the head but if you kick someone in the stomach and they are half way down you can knee to the face as well. Just goes to show if you train properly nothing is impossible....
@jjjoestar...you say that as if little guys aren't naturally brave. He might have way more self-esteem than the big guy. the world always dictates shit based on size...or...people think blonde women are hot. TV and bullshit and (I won't say) makes us think this shit. Like most people think Asiaans aare better fighters and they all know Martail Arts.
Are you just having a bad day or you are a shorty who doesn't accept his body? In any case don't worry man, you are not alone!! :)

Yeah he wasn't fight bare hands with a tiger to save 34 children if that's what you mean...but "little chance of getting hurt" ??? MMm are you sure?? With such a weight difference you risk every bones of your body...
lol whats your problem! be sure both men came home with a smile after this tournament. who the fuck cares who wins. Everybody on this mat is a winner!
@codycim Maybe the big guy was holding back, but then again maybe he wasn't. You don't know for sure, so you can only assume. Personally I judge these things based on what I see, not what I assume. You should do the same.
@codycim I've seen the video, If you cant see that hes holding back theres something wrong with you. Ray Charles could see that. You should watch the video before you judge or assume
I studied shaolin kenpo as a child then moved onto jeet kun do and krav maga this looks like a special ed class gone totally wrong. I'd fight them both and they could bring some friends cause they would need them
@eohunter37311 Yet, how is your ground control? Because I've seen a novice in BJJ with a lil MMA under his belt, beat the fuck out of guys who had years with gung fu and jeet jun do under their belt. >_>
But in cases like these, courage just delays the inevitable. I was really hoping the little guy would win though, he really was able to take some punishment.
In a street confrontation there are no weight classes nor rules restricting how many assailants there might be in a fight. Both fighters demonstrated great spirit and willingness to fight as well as mutual respect. OSU!
I almost expect the big guy to plant a hand on the little guy's forehead and say "ok, try to hit me now" ^.^ Little man got good spirit though. Ossu!.

@eohunter37311 Yet, how is your ground control? Because I've seen a novice in BJJ with a lil MMA under his belt, beat the fuck out of guys who had years with gung fu and jeet jun do under their belt. >_>

"Size don't matter when you have courage"
.

OSU!

Redic sport if the rules prevent a guy that size from wiping him out in seconds.
He can just run in there and not have his head punched or kneed off.

Size does matter, that's why they have weight classes...
