if you have been here and seen what the coptic church has done you wouldn't question much from this documentary no matter what your faith background. A recycling center, gardens, new housing. These guys have revitalized this community so much that it has almost become a tourist destination. If you are ever in Cairo you should go see it with your own eyes.
@larelofthouse1 you missed the point. The priest did not convert them as such, he BROUGHT THEM TO CHRIST as they were not living in that manner. CHRISTIANS are the true Egyptians whilst moslems are invaders from arabia.
I would like to point out that Father Samaan did not convert teh zabaleen, they were christian when they arrived to Cairo in the 1940s. this is just awful viewing, and totally inaccurate.
