It has always confused the fucking hell out of me as to what people see in this clown. He's like the archetypal skeezy middle aged guy photographing teenage girls at the beach, drinking Michelob Ultra out of a foam holder.
@trilobright It doesn't take much to confuse you apparently..You are an easily confused dude..Why don't you compare your bank account to his? No confusion there :)
Wait, are you actually suggesting that a person's inherent value as a human being is directly related to net worth? I guess I do confuse easily, because that doesn't make any sense to me.
The part where everyone is piling into the back of the truck looks like it was filmed on South Roosevelt..I lived there at the time, Key West was Heaven and a Haven before the tourists took over and turned it into a commercial circus.. Still, there's no other place on Earth that compares
@crownpowertech3 You don't understand the time frame and the concept do you? Didn't think so.This was done in the 70s not intended to be a so called 'Professional high tech' That's what's wrong with music of today,,too much tech and not enough feeling and emotion
so much better than these 1 mil dollar budgets videos today....probably cost buffett less than $25 bucks to make in 73.:.....a girlfriend , a 52 chevy truck, and 16 mm camera.
Bridgeport Cali, mountain warfare school eclub, hanging out with one of my best mates and a lite bird talking about Yuma. Funny how a song can take you back
I'm off to Mexico for good tomorrow...I have lived there in the past and have always loved it. Some times were better than others..but this time...I'm a hop skip and a jump away from home...so I think I will be getting the best of both worlds...At least I hope so.
I think he promoted this song in Nashville in 1974 because I was in school at Vanderbilt University all those many years ago and he played at a campus coffee shop one night and this song got a lot of play on the radio in town--all my friends and I were very excited to see him. It was an exciting time--Linda Rondstadt and others--just the cover charge & your booze & TN legal age was 18 at that time!
I am not particularly a fan of country music or western music but there are a few exceptions is this guy is one ot them! My husband and I had been in all his concerts, there is something about him and his music that is just to cool and relaxing,,,,
I had a great time in Key West. The USN took me there and gave me a great three years playing volleyball with the female tourists. Every 2 weeks or so, a brand new batch of 'em showed up all pasty white, and ready to laugh at my short hair. But more than a few had tears in their eyes when they left....it is that kind of place.
im 14 been listning to him since i was 1 or 2 i guess i dont remember it but im told that i did and i wouldnt doubt it how often my family plays jimmy buffett but this song right here.... that is one of those songs that ull always know the lyrics to and sing along to because the rythim gets to you then the words just follow really
@critter546 Critter546, congrats to you and your family to a fine taste in music! Immerse yourself in Buffett, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Dan Fogelberg, John Prine, John Denver, Don McLean, Janis Ian, Carly Simon, David Wilcox, Cat Stevens, and other similar artists to help you differentiate between great songwriting and singing and what the Top 40, unfortunately, has to offer to your generation. Carry the baton of the singer-songwriter proudly!
Though I've never been a big Jimmy Buffet fan, this song is indisputably lovely and evocative. It's one of those songs that has a sense of intimacy about it -- the lyrics, his voice, the music itself -- that really pull s a person in.
The magic of the "endless summer" back in the 60's and early 70's. It was the life, just being a beach bum and having that special girl by your side through it all.

@GEIBER77 sorry to mention this but we cannot call jimmy buffet JB any thanks to a bunch of prepubescent little girls going crazy over a 16 year old homosexual, if people don't know what I am talking about, two words, two gay words... Justin Bieber.

i love this song so much its a perfect 70s song,,, it makes you feel good to be alive in the summer,,, i just wish he would of kept on the track like these type of songs instead of margaritaville type,, its much smoother and nice as a songs,,,how could anyone hate this song,,,and yes this would still sell in the year 2011 by the way,,
We just got back from going to see him he's amazing when he sang this it was like I just gave my heart away he took my heart and soil when he sang this I was gone he had my heart u don't understand it was beautiful -3
I think it was 1971, before an audience of about twelve people, who all showed up because there was no cover charge and the draft beer was free, Jimmi stated he was going to call his first album 'These Songs Will Never Sell'. A year later, 1972 he was back again, free admission, free beer but now a crowd of nearly 50 people.
...he told us that he would be pinbch-hitting for Jackson. He started singing songs about God's Own Drunk and other characters. Well, he was darn funny and I like him right away. Then he sang 'Come Monday' and the lightbulb went on. My Dad loved this tune and used to sing it when it came on the car radio. I loved it, too. Right then I became a Buffett fan and have seen him in concert 15 times. Thanks, Jimbo.
My sister, Kate, a few of our friends, and I went to see Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, and the Eagles at a Day on the Green in Hughes Stadium in Sacramento, CA in 1977. It was the Eagles Hotel California' tour. Kate is a huge Jackson fan and I had a crush on Linda...and the Eagles are one of my favorite groups. It was very hot that summer and Jackson was late leading the show....we kept waiting. After 30 minutes or so, this barefoot dude strutted out on stage, sat down on his bar stool...
@Peoria3165 Saw Buffett in Orlando Summer of 1977 Rock Super Bowl IV at the originally named, Tangerine Bowl: Andrew Gold, Hall & Oats, Jimmy Buffett, and The Eagles during Hotel California Tour. Was kick-ass!! Buffett went on and played with the Eagles after his set. Entire concert was between 10-12 hours long... hell of a fun day... as I barely remember!!!!!
@Peoria3165 Semper Fi Marine! Thanks but it's the truth. Don't get me wrong, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SOUTH CAROLINA and am saddened by Clemson's comments. I'm a Tiger Fan as well & have spent many a Saturday in Death Valley during football season but he is just plain wrong! Hey Peoria, if you haven't already, check out Mike Corrado's USMC, Ret. "On My Watch Tonight" and other songs on YouTube. He and his band played and recorded in Wilmington and at Kefi's in Wrightsville @ Lumina Station for years.
There was congressional testimony later published as a book so the authors did not get killed. Buffett is in it on how he spent more time selling and transporting cocaine for the CIA than on his music career. He also raped a women in the MK Ultra program. Once the info was published in a book nobody was sued for false accusations. Not even Bush and Chaney detailing their heroin use or how they have CIA assisted human hunting excursions. It's called Trance Formation America.
@krebsco If it took anyone's music to help you enjoy a beer, then your life is really screwed up! I don't have any trouble enjoying a beer to Mozart. I'd rather be listening to Buffett, but a beer is a beer...
Jimmy Buffett is the reason I didn't run my car off the road on the way to many a hellish job...lol The patron saint of dreamers and beachbums. I love this man.
Love you Jimmy. Spent many a days in Panama City drunk on the beach thanks to you. Once even lost my hotel! Thanks for all the memories I cant remember!
Proud Parrothead here even though I was born 4 years after Come Monday came out. So glad I discovered Jimmy in college.....never fails to put me in a good mood. Thanks Jimmy, for decades of awesome music!
Just got back form a run and turned this jimmy song on his heart's in ever one an age old them comes to life once again churning up what might have been oh these songs of the heart proves we're not all heart smart thankfully though they heal up so what a world this would be if not for the heart in you and me
lol Jimmy was funny here in Aus, I think he was head over heels for us Aussies, Well done Jimmy, I have never seen anything quite like it, gotta love the man!
@MrNZDAVE HE'S STILL ALIVE, although, He's had so many popular, "big seller" songs he doesn't really have to tour much any more, so in A way I suppose he's resting, but if you had A wife as lovely as his, You'd want to be spending as much time as possible with her too, on some tropical beach, Where people almost wear bathing suits with A pitcher of Margaritas! I don't blame him. If I had it all made , It's likely what I'd be doing with the large part of my time.
@MrNZDAVE Do I dare ask WTH you're talking about? 'Rocks In Person maybe?
Mr B, is alive, still rockin and personifies the term 'Good times'
He has given so much, besides his legacy of great songs, he's given tremendously to the preservation of the eco system here in Fl ans elsewhere around the world especially his push for 'Save the Manatees'
@yourdickis2limp Really? What the fuck is wrong with you? If you got a problem with his music and fans, then leave it be. Quit being an ass just because you think it's funny. Dumb shits talking out of their ass like you contribute nothing. And nice name, what are you, 14? Immature idiot
@timdav14 Jimmy Buffettt only allows gay Parrotheads who can aford to buy his concert tickets to shit in his mouth...This disqualifies your sorry ass doesnt it parrotlips?
@yourdickis2limp HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Oh God I love stupid idiots who think they're clever. But as to you calling me poor, depends what you mean by it. If poor is living in the projects, then I'm not poor. However, I'm not rich either. I drive a used, 12 year old vehicle that I bought dirt cheap, and the only reason I can go to college is because I'm smart enough to get a scholarship. And again with the shitting in his mouth. Is this a fantasy of yours deep down? You sure talk about it a lot
@yourdickis2limp Again with the eating shit? Are you sure that's not what you would like to do and all this is just an outlet for your sexual frustrations? It's okay if you're into that, just don't assume everyone else does also. I won't even get into the whole dick sucking thing, because it would just be a repeat of your shit eating desires. Anything else you'd like to tell me about yourself?
I love the mustaches the guys wore back then - also Cheech and John Oates. They all ought to grow them back (I think!). Thanks for posting the video and the "intro" by Jimmy.
Well, as I listen to Margaritaville, I wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow, Jimmy. Sooooo glad you are still touring and still the same Jimmy! HAPPY 64!
One thing for sure there is 36 very lonely hard people that live in this world for sure...1283 others know a real true love song that by the way is one of his finest hit's. to those 36...I am sorry for your loss. :D
I have always loved this song; loved it since I was 14 years old (when I "discovered" Jimmy Buffett). If and when I get a significant other, I will sing this to them often.
jimmys sound is nothing like king of the road to me any way PARROT HEAD TILL THE END HOPE I SEE JB AGAIN BUT THIS TIME MAYBE HE WONT BE WASTED DOWN SOUTH AGAIN OR AT LEAST NOT AS WASTED LOL.
This maybe an ok video and song, but i start crying everytime i hear this song thinking about all my friends and memories and my family in Maine, 2 beautiful friends who are still here in West Va and having to feel really lonely here where i'm at without them and it just makes me feel so sad when i don't see and hear from them all, just makes me wanna knock something out of the blue : ( : (
@alagumbo One of my all time favorite Buffett tunes is "Paris" but, "The Death of an Unpopular Poet", HAS to be at LEAST one of his top five all time!!!!!!
No one had heard of Jimmy Buffett when I was first introduced to "Come Monday." Close your eyes and see if you don't think Mr. Buffett's voice could be mistaken for Roger Miller...that's what I thought way back in the '70's. Though I understand the appeal of Parrotheads, I miss THIS Jimmy Buffett music.
@atimtambaby Wow, you're right. I never thought of Roger Miller until you mentioned that. I really could've seen Mr. Miller singing this song. You have a good ear!
I listened to this song growing up and would always sing it, listening to it now is amazing. I wish we could all go back in time! This crap on the radio now days is a crude form of true music.
The words of the song tell the story.. in the early 70's like 70-73 Jimmy was a regular at Calamity Jane's in Livingston MT..Hence the song Livingston Saturday Night.. which he performs in Rancho Deluxe.. But then something happend and he never came back to MT.. dont know why.. Also..Rumors, Cheeseburgers in Paradise, The Saloon in Paradise MT, outside of Livingston.. His wife.. was a waitress at Calamity Janes..
Jimmy Buffett, American troubadour and poet laureate! God bless ya Jimmy!

It's called Trance Formation America.

@krebsco If it took anyone's music to help you enjoy a beer, then your life is really screwed up! I don't have any trouble enjoying a beer to Mozart. I'd rather be listening to Buffett, but a beer is a beer...

@themann70 Right Buffet is NOT DEAD...its just the parrothead became a birdbrain in Sydney...perfectly normal for a good ole' boy his age LOL
justcallmeassinine 11 months ago
@MrNZDAVE HE'S STILL ALIVE, although, He's had so many popular, "big seller" songs he doesn't really have to tour much any more, so in A way I suppose he's resting, but if you had A wife as lovely as his, You'd want to be spending as much time as possible with her too, on some tropical beach, Where people almost wear bathing suits with A pitcher of Margaritas! I don't blame him. If I had it all made , It's likely what I'd be doing with the large part of my time.
bigfootskitty 11 months ago
@MrNZDAVE Do I dare ask WTH you're talking about? 'Rocks In Person maybe?
Mr B, is alive, still rockin and personifies the term 'Good times'
He has given so much, besides his legacy of great songs, he's given tremendously to the preservation of the eco system here in Fl ans elsewhere around the world especially his push for 'Save the Manatees'
I agree.. Buffett for President' :)

Jimmy Buffett said his favorite activity is when his drunkin Parrott heads shit in his mouth.
yourdickis2limp 1 year ago
@yourdickis2limp Really? What the fuck is wrong with you? If you got a problem with his music and fans, then leave it be. Quit being an ass just because you think it's funny. Dumb shits talking out of their ass like you contribute nothing. And nice name, what are you, 14? Immature idiot
timdav14 1 year ago
@timdav14 why dont you go shit in Jimmy Buffettts mouth and let him taste your filthy waste fucknuts????
yourdickis2limp 1 year ago
@yourdickis2limp Wow. If that was any more intelligent, it might be worth shit. But since it's not... Sorry. Try again retard :)
timdav14 1 year ago
@timdav14 Jimmy Buffettt only allows gay Parrotheads who can aford to buy his concert tickets to shit in his mouth...This disqualifies your sorry ass doesnt it parrotlips?
yourdickis2limp 1 year ago
@yourdickis2limp HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Oh God I love stupid idiots who think they're clever. But as to you calling me poor, depends what you mean by it. If poor is living in the projects, then I'm not poor. However, I'm not rich either. I drive a used, 12 year old vehicle that I bought dirt cheap, and the only reason I can go to college is because I'm smart enough to get a scholarship. And again with the shitting in his mouth. Is this a fantasy of yours deep down? You sure talk about it a lot
timdav14 1 year ago
@timdav14 You love to eat shit more than Jimmy Buffett loves sucking cocks.or is it the other way around?
yourdickis2limp 1 year ago
@yourdickis2limp Again with the eating shit? Are you sure that's not what you would like to do and all this is just an outlet for your sexual frustrations? It's okay if you're into that, just don't assume everyone else does also. I won't even get into the whole dick sucking thing, because it would just be a repeat of your shit eating desires. Anything else you'd like to tell me about yourself?

No one had heard of Jimmy Buffett when I was first introduced to "Come Monday." Close your eyes and see if you don't think Mr. Buffett's voice could be mistaken for Roger Miller...that's what I thought way back in the '70's. Though I understand the appeal of Parrotheads, I miss THIS Jimmy Buffett music.
atimtambaby 1 year ago 2
@atimtambaby Wow, you're right. I never thought of Roger Miller until you mentioned that. I really could've seen Mr. Miller singing this song. You have a good ear!
tsnoopy76 1 year ago
