  • @TonySopranowhoisgay DannySeraphine used to have Gay hot tub patys with Wink Martindale,Charles Nelson Reilly,Robert Reed,Paul Lynde,Dick Sargent,Jay Ferguson,Rusty Staub,Gene Rayburn,Johnny Bench,Dick Pole,Leo Sayer,Bob Welch back in the 70;s,strickly in the closet you know...but Danny Seraphine is currently engaged to Skunk Baxter and I hear they plan to adopt a little faggott baby boy and name him Truman Capote.

  • R.I.P. Peter Cetera 1944-2012

  • @YourKutscheetStinks WTF kind of comment is this?

  • @mrosenmeier Peter Cetera was recently diagnosed with the Aids virus....see ya later faggott!!

  • @YourKutscheetStinks how did Peter Cetera die?I heard that he recently wed leo Sayer at a gay church in Downers Grove,Illionois?

  • @IfYouThinkItsButter he's not dead...this guy is a douche!

  • @babyletscruise66 Peter Cetera died from Aids is the rumor I hear.

  • @IfYouThinkItsButter yes,Peter Cetera is dead but the family is keeping it a secret

  • That Hammond Organ is sooooooo kewl!!!

  • In rural places band was called "Chicago Et Cetera"

  • @huskerspew amen to that thankgod my mom introduced me to these guys when i was young and other great older bands and im 20 now

  • chicago is one of my ultamt fav bands of all time and always will chicago is very soulfull and lively and they always bring a smile to my face when im down or just there for my enjoyment i love chicago <3

  • Theme song for Bosnian hit movie "Dracula Meets the Servians"

  • Why are homos discussed in every post? Although all of the greatest artists in history have been gay, it's no reason to harp on the subject.

  • I remember reading a Terry Kath interview shortly before he died. Interviewer mentioned Kath was now a world-reknown guitarists & that it would be natural for him to go off on his own in a band featuring him alone, focusing on guitars (mainly his) more towards rock, dropping the horn sound that made Chicago famous. Kath replied that he would never want to be in a band without a complete horn section, & that was what he loved about their music. I felt that showed true character.

  • @TonySopranowhoisgay And your point is? What would that matter? Sounds like you are afraid of gays? Sad...and cowardly

  • Who is singing?

  • @AllTimeKatelynO - PETER CETERA IS SINGING

  • Not all of todays music was made to sit back in an armchair and enjoy. Most of todays music is made for dancing in clubs for 5 hours and just having fun. But when was the last time anyone in here was at a club till 4 am dancing all night? Besides, today there are more great talented bands than ever! 5 seconds on Google confirms this. Music isn't a popularity contest and certainly not a talent contest. Its just about what moves YOU.

  • The horns and the drums are just plain sick!!!

  • Great to see footage of actual performance in studio, not lip sync overdub bs.. Got to see these guys, plus Zepplin, Who, Stones.

  • I really wish I wasn't born in the 80's. I would have loved to have seen these guys perform, this song is Incredible.

  • This really makes me loathe music made in the last twenty years; maybe longer. (Old) Chicago friggin' rocks!

  • Thanks for posting this tune I remember listening to stuff like this in the back of my dad's Chevy Impala.

  • Talent, depth, harmony...youve all said it before...

  • As of Nov. 17th, 2011, there are at least 12 extremely deaf and dumb people who watched this video.

Such a shame that they can't enjoy such an amazing piece of pop music.

  • Mr Cetera sure can sing almost as good as his brother.

  • This is Pure Talent. In the original video, they played this song and stopped seconds after they started. I think they wanted to make sure the sound was good. But as you can see, they finished the song perfectly in one take. These were the good old days...

  • I'm definitely feeling stronger now that I watched that - thanks so much, Parkwaymania!

  • I never knew Peter played the bass. Very McCartney-like bass line on this!!!!

  • Righteousness and inspiration are two key ingredients when experiencing such epic sounds...gotta love these classic ass tunes man, it's where it's at

  • Gods

  • These guys were born to be together. Their talents seem to compliment and augment each others. Each has such a unique voice but when put together create one beautiful sound. Few bands with such depth of talent.

  • Every time I watch this (and I watch it every day), I fall more in love with Peter Cetera.

  • They don't make em like they use too.

  • I do my lil' shrug dance (Cetera!), when i'm driving with this song on repeat & full blast! and that is how i roll......

  • Yes there are a lot of differences in this music, and the music of today,

Only and idiot would argue there wasn't,

But in my opinion, the main difference:

These guys actually play the instruments, and they can sing.

No synth, no drum machines, no autotune.

How do you see a live show of something that is pre-recorded anyway?

  • My favorite lineup wit Cetera, Kath and Lamm trading off on lead vocals each such different sound but all great!

  • I love how nobody comments on how the music makes them FEEL. This song makes me think of how much my love for my boyfriend grows every day. :)

  • @jamielovesgoonies (He's going on deployment and I'm stationed far away, but we're going to have to part and stay strong)

  • Comparing Eminem to Britney Spears is a top comment? Have you listened to Eminem?

  • amazing, all this without tempo-logic comand synth computers, drum machine beat composers, or sample sequencers? must have been really fun back in the day "makin" music

  • @Feerulace hey man you can't say Eminem is a "clown" because he is probably the best rapper who raps about life not other shyt

  • 1969 because it happened weeks before the landing on the Moon in July.Peter had written@ hearing Walter Cronkite remark,' Where do we go from here,'while he was laying in a hospital bed healing his jaw,the title of one of his songs he wrote-think first one actually. It's a shame he managed to collectively piss off the Board of the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame w/some less than respectable remarks & the rest of them have had to suffer for it. At the very least they could induct Terry posthumously.

  • @carina2244 Hey!Before Peter"found religion"-nothing wrongw/that [how he can have Senna, not marry her mother is beyond me.Lots of people have done it.My 2 nieces-toddlers-were at my brothers' wedding.]Before Peter found religion he could be very crass & quite often.Made his remarks personal, saying some awful things@Jan Wenner-Rolling Stone, then does his 'so sad too bad 'bit w/the Machivellian David Foster, then Foster writes a nasty book. You're so right: Let's NOT forget Bobby and everyone else!

  • Yeah, living in the moment...Was so different back then.

  • This is groovy in the extreme!

  • Can't get enough listens to this. Very addicting. Was this the session when this was recorded. (Not the take, obviously, but the session?)

  • @GeorgeCarlinIsInHell Is this morbid prediction?

  • when i run XC this is my theme!

  • my favorite lineup

Kath, Cetera, Lamm, Serrafino, Pankow...3 great singers and a couple of great writers, all great musicians! Sorry for the spelling in case I butchered a few!

  • Tight, top notch, excellent musicians, real talent... not this non melodic grunge noise stuff your hear today. These guys were mesmerizing!

Then, it was all about the music, now, it's all about the image (if you can even call it that)

Example, every Chris Daughtry song sounds the same

    peace :)

  • Somehow this song never gets old! My favorite by them :-)

  • @GeorgeCarlinIsInHell

??? He is alive and well as far as I know!

  • Yeah. Where's the studio version?

  • So Peter Cetera was Justin Bieber's inspiration for his hair style?

  • AWESOME version of this song... started out as a"run-through" and they just couldn't stop!!!! turns into a GREAT ROCKING version ...they really start getting into it a couple of minutes into it... CHICAGO!!!!!!!

  • wow, what an awesome song

  • why would this be the only track that in studio version has dissapeared from youtube? why let us see all these live tracks but not the studio version. same with ''even in the quietest moments''......any other supertramp song but that. wierd. sensless.

  • Parazaider said he just put the band together to make a living while he was angling to get a gig with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. I guess this changed after a few years of success!

  • CLASSIC!

  • I'm ashamed I don't know the name of the drummer, but he's better than anyone else I can think of. Perfect timing and he almost looks bored with it, it's so effortless. The only other drummer I've ever seen play like that is Don Henley.

  • Neil Peart, Keith Moon.

  • @hitcharide1 Danny Seraphine was Chicago's drummer from 1967 to 1990.

  • @hitcharide1 that is Danny Seraphine and you are right I love the drumming in this tune!

  • This is why I hate clowns like Eminem and Britney Spears so much.

  • @Feerulace. that's beneath you man.....no need to be disrespectful others for your own confidence boost or acceptness from society.i urge you to change your ways...it'll only do justic with you and your surrounding.

forgive my english...as im tired and its not my mothers tongue

  • @Feerulace

    Don't hate, appreciate.

  • @Feerulace ...that's right, M and M should go back to where he belongs...the chocolate section of the local supermarket.

  • To the new generation: This is talent. It's too bad like everything else in this great Country of ours, there is no fore-thought, it's all about money and being famous. These guys didn't even have to try to be famous. One of the top 5 all time greatest bands ever...

  • @fluxerflixer1 Well said.

  • @fluxerflixer1 You sound like my dad, btw I'm 50 y.o. LOL!!

  • @fluxerflixer1 They have total mastery over their instruments. As you said, "This is talent."

  • @fluxerflixer1 I was just thinking that when I was listening to this and I could not agree with you more. They have few equals in their field that's for sure.

  • Timeless high class music!

  • Wow, did these musicians actually play their own instruments? With no hip hop soundtrack? :)

  • Great song!

  • Epic! Thank you for posting this!

  • This is how its done young people

  • @LoneStarBenF1995

Im 13 and I completely agree! I was born in the wrong era.

  • It's like being in an artist's studio when they are creating great works of art. For someone who wasn't around when this was brand new, clips like this just serve to remind me that this music doesn't simply "come" from radio speakers or a record or CD. This stuff has to be written, arranged and perfected. This is another great performance by Chicago.

  • This is the ultimate drum track.

  • @koyunbaba73 Totes.

  • @thecitychicken..Back in the day musicians actually played their own music! That's why you know this shit rocked it out!!!!!!!!

  • I love Pete Cetera ( I named my fish after him & I dated my ex simply because he looked just like him -but he couldn't sing ? ! ) But I also loved Terry Kath, and Robert Lamm. A band with many talented people !!!

  • This song could never get old. Still sounds great.

  • Oh Please 12 people are soooo Weak!

  • fook yeah!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Nothing like this music! Love it!

  • i know Chicago since they played 25 or 6 to 4.... still great

  • I love this shyte. so tight.

  • I love this shyte.

  • the outro is best right after a huge line

  • @Justen1980 :) Yep - right at 2:15

  • Wow...Nice ! Now that`s what i call Real Music !!!

The One and Only Peter Cetera !

  • listen to those incredible horns...love it! You definitely don't hear that anymore.

  • There are 11 dislikes for this song....Question?..What the fuck are you doing here?

  • Rip Peter Cetera 1947-2011.

  • @FreeBlwJobJudyKhan Peter Cetera is not Judy. So... how bout that blowjob? :)

  • @FreeBlwJobJudyKhan Wow, i didn't know Peter died! So so sad. His voice was amazing!

  • @FreeBlwJobJudyKhan um...Peter Cetera is alive and well...great nick by the way...rolls eyes

  • Most underrated bands. Every peice of the band is flawless. They arent bands like this anymore. Its all money now.

  • Peter Cetera has a strange way of singing. lol

  • @jaywhofan "....strange way of singing"... You mean that clenched jaw way..he's been singing like that ever since his face got busted up in that fight he had at a Cubs/Dodgers game...back in '70 i think?

  • @taurus2leo For Real????

  • @Trashfished Peter is a longtime Cubs fan. He and Walt were at a game at Dodger Stadium during the height of the Vietnam war (I believe it was 1969) and they had "hippie" hair and clothes. Unfortunately, four Marines took exception to their look and their team choice. He had his jaw broken in three places and after leaving the hospital went out on tour because it was one of the first major tours for the band. He has commented that he continued singing that way even after his jaw was healed.

  • @carina2244 Interesting! Well Peter sure made it work for him. Thank you for the info.

  • is the singer terry kath????

  • While they were never the same after Terry, they remain (with T.O.P.) the ONLY R & R BRASS band to survive what has been left of the music-business. Even with both Terry, and later Peter no longer being part of this iconic band, they remain one of my favorites of all time. I only wish I could have joined them when they were cruising the Caribbean a few years ago. Imagine being able to see them truly up close and personal on the high-seas!!!

  • Very cool. ....A legendary song is born!.....thx for the post

  • RIP Peter Cetera 1947-2011.

  • @BlankFracksmokesdix MUST BE THINKING OF YOUR DAD PETER ????

  • Yup, there was once a day when there was not just great music being made, but unbelievably awesome music...like this tune.

  • This is 100% gold and righteous. Love it!

  • They don't birth musician like this any more. This is great talent which does not exist these days. Old days. Nuff said.

  • @aeodfw thats silly to say... great musicians are still out there being born everyday that can play better than Terry Kath... its the music industries that are fucked up.

  • @upyanuts Of course there are musicians who are technically better, however, It's all about the vibe! That's why these guys are legends.

  • great vid.they could do it all.they mixed jazz and rock without getting hokey.jimmi hendrix once said that terry cath was the best guitarist he had ever heard.he never stops.he just had this flow.everything he did was perfect.guitarist didnt have that crunchy tone back then.terry was about 20yrs ahead of his time.a huge loss.thanx for the post

  • Today... Music.... not synonymous!

  • I'm 22 years old, and I can say this is real

Music! I absolutely love it. All these instruments playing together making the best noise I have ever heard. Peter Cetera has a voice of a god. Thank god for classic rock and oldies! I am obsessed with this kinda music.

  • Most comments make me laugh for this. They seem to be getting weaker everyday because they want to suck the life out of people who appreciate this. Sycophants- probably from Chicago and they way they feel they KNOW they can suck blood out of a turnip! Great politcs- thanks for sharing the Chicago way. If you can do for the country what you did with the Cubs, God something you- I'll let God decide. Feel stronger every day on your own, leave us who know who what love is to rule the world.

  • Pete Ceterra looks so young in this video. Is this from the mid-1970s?

  • @jwsf941 1974

  • F@CKING Awesome

  • i didnt know david spade ever sang for chicago

  • brings tears too my eyes this is so damn good it hurts

  • This was some good music! Dang????!!!!!

  • Someday, maybe, I will possibly play my trombone that well. As for now, AWESOME!!!!!

  • dang I meant 33rd. Keep forgetting it's 2011

  • My late uncle went to school with Peter Cetera. I found out many years ago when we were looking through old High School year books at my Grandparents house. I was I think I was a senior at the time and was floored to learn that after all those years. It is also the 32nd anniv of Terry Kath's passing is in two days. I remember being in Mid terms when we heard. Ironic how I ran accross this video through a old high school friends posts.

  • Peter Cetera Love you in Chicago and your voice is so good to listen with your eyes close...

  • Very poignant stuff -It is awesome to hear that........music can truly change lives... hope you are soaking it all in !

  • This song has inspired me in my recovery from brain surgery. Music heals, and helps me get through the tough times. Love the brass and the keys in this tune! Thank you!

  • This location (Caribou Ranch) deserves to be declared a historical site by the US government. So much musical history went on and was made there. Chicago's live performances from there should prove that.

  • i love the horns but to me the drums made this track

  • @Opqosite I Agree totally, escpecially at the fade out, or outro. That relentless Ride Cymbal. This version is actually better than the album version, you hear Everyone clearly--especially TK's guitar. On the album it is eq'd so damn much that it is barely audible

  • Terry throwing in slide on this take is a real treat.

  • My favorite Chicago song of all time. Gives me the chills everytime I listen to it. Rush is my all time favorite band but these guys rank in the top 10. This is the way music SHOULD be. Period.

  • Horns.

  • THIS IS SO GOOD SO MUCH TALENT

  • Such a great song. To bad music today sucks...

  • I think everyone is accustomed to bad concert sound, and such a clean sound from 35 years ago might throw the ear, but it is real!

  • it's live. The pristine sound is due to the controlled studio environment, but there are plenty of clams and other live events. It's great!

  • @renergutierrez Well said!

  • his mouth is wierd

  • @torontotank LOL itsw techqniqie to the s's and P's are balances and they wont Hiss and Pop as you sing in the studio. if you notice some vocalicists will use a"pop Filter "a small screen in front of the Vocan mike to cut the sharper tones,LOL-- so thats why he looks like he is squeezind his moulth shut-hee!!

  • @torontotank Sorry about the spelling , i did not read it, i cant type to save my life!!!!!

  • what year was this?

  • Nuff said!! lol

  • Great Band!!!! Buff said!

  • I'm not 100% sure that this is totally live in the studio, but I do know that they're not lip synching/playing to the album track here. The differences are clear. And yes, they sound great on this version!

  • It's funny how great film editing fools people into thinking bands are playing live when they clearly (from the sound, which is too good) aren't. It's like people forget what live music really sounds like. (Basically, not very good.) It's the difference between eating mustard, or eating mustard powder, with the live stuff being the powder.

  • @rogueradish

Sorry, this one, for the most part, is all live. However, when they hit the double time section at the end (with the "Feelin Stronger Every Day repeating) , Cetera is singing live, but they have him going along with a pre-recorded track of himself. The horns seem to be double-tracked at the end as well.

  • In the beginning of the video, before the music starts, Terry Kath says I think it needs to be brought down, it,s really F..kin Loud, just a legend, God I miss Him

  • That actually sounds like the one they laid to vinyl.

  • Freaking AMAZING video!! Thanks for the upload, I miss Terry Kath SO much he was the best!

  • How could anybody "Dislike" this song or video?

  • One the best groups ever, the sound mix of brass and guitar was pure genious

  • @filmrat

amen man, the brass is so tight, makes me realize how music today is trash

  • @shawnlocke We stick together on that. Notice, no vocal/pitch enhancement machines. Just pure ability and talent. This was one of the great songs of my early grade school years.

  • @shawnlocke The WHOLE BAND is tight!!! This wasn't even the take that made it to the album!

  • They weren't recording here. The song was already in the can. They were playing live in the studio, though. More of a rehearsal for the upcoming TV special. And even this was sweetened in post-production. They added the recorded horn parts to the live portion of the performance. It made for a nice segment of the show.

  • They

  • great song, Hadn't heard it in a long time. pretty cool how they record it in one take like that. nobody does that anymore. these guys were great!

  • I never get tired of this song... 3:00 - 3:46 rocks!!

  • Listen for Terry while Guercio is talking in the beginning..."I don't know man. It sounds really f---ing loud."

Great shots of everyone in the band here. What memories - watching this on TV and not leaving the room during commercials for fear I'd miss something.

  • wish i could have grown up in this era.this era/generation sucks so bad!!!!!!!

  • I have is video on my I pod.... :-)
