  • I love this song, the one hit that Sandbox had really put out. Those were the days

  • I've had that echoing guitar sound in my head for like 15years, finally quenched. but especially the horrible mic voice effect

  • who in the hell is bubbles?& why should I care?

  • @beigeflowers

The guy who played lead guitar in this band later went on to star in an amazing show called 'Trailer Park Boys'. His name is Mike Smith, but the character he played in the show was named 'Bubbles'. Check it out :)

  • Bubbles @ 1:10

  • @94xr7 - actually she is his Aunt, not his mom.

Now that TPB is done and over I'd love to see Sandbox get back together.

  • Mike Smith is so talented. I feel privileged to have seen him perform live. You are awesome!

  • Actually not that bad. Definitely has that 90's post grunge sound.

  • not bad after you hear it a few times

  • How was this not immensely popular in the '90s? This is some great mid '90s alternative.

  • 1:07 is your friend if you're here for Bubs.

  • 1:11

  • Insult me all you want, i pas simply pointing out your mistake, Should be 1970s you fucking retard. not 1870s.

  • this is such a great tune.. this is probably there only hit.. cause i really dig this song

  • WHOA! I'm pretty constantly listening back into my past, but here's one I haven't heard in years. Too bad too--would fit just fine on modern Canadian rock playlists.

  • I remember when these guys were called Sandbox Legacy. They played at the winter ball at my highschool. Ahh the nineties.

  • cant find this song anywhere can anyone send me the file or something??

  • Mike Smith is fucking awesome. I'm a fan for live now : )

  • Never New Mike Smith (Bubbles) was In His Own Band Dam This Is Sweet

  • @glamourboy89 He created the bubbles character while on tour with the band. for behind the stage goofing around.

  • I saw these guys perform once. ONCE! They opened at Dalhousie University in Halifax for Big Sugar in the mid 90s. Sandbox was horrible!!

  • Comment removed

  • Totally sweet, but I question the drummer's choice of attire. I mean, you did know you were in a rock video shoot that day, right??

  • @explodingpuppy he had class after :P

  • i love this song so much :)

  • Mike Smith is unbelievably sexy when he's not in character (Bubbles).

    Wow lol

  • Bubbles @ 2:31

  • WOW. I just found out that Bubbles was in this band... wow is all that can be said. I was addicted to this song when it came out!

  • I can't believe I never knew that Bubbles was in Sandbox!!??!!

  • This is a great tune that I had forgotten about (even though I actually have the CD somewhere). Thanks for posting.

  • Something like collective soul ?

Good work anyways and thanks for share it.

  • dead red

  • I LOVED these guys!! Great Canadian Band!

  • These guys used to play every weekend at The Palace (last chance for romance) bar. They did awesome Pearl Jam covers. Rearviewmirror especially.

Mike (bubbles) was crackin a lot of jokes one night and out of the blue said, "Don't eat the brown acid". Dude, I had totally JUST taken the brown acid in the parking lot. Freaked me the fuck out. Good buzz though.

  • lol if you cant tell who bubbles is in this video...anyways enough said

  • It's true, the drummer is actually Troy Shanks. Bubbles is a guitar player. The band consisted of Paul Murray on vocals, Mike Smith and Jason Archibald on guitar, Scott MacFarlane on bass and Troy Shanks on drums.

  • So true man, much music used to be my fav channel, do they even play music anymore? I stopped watching it complety, right about when pimp my ride and cribs came on. They should change there name from much music to lots of crap! Except music. Love that song though, it brings me back to a beautiful world we once knew! Thanks man.

  • Wow, I don't think I've heard this song or seen this video in at least 15 years. Canadian Gold, I say! Sad that MuchMusic wants to change their licensing so they don't have to air great Canadian music like this anymore, even at odd hours of the night---they'd rather make their money shilling shitty reality shows, like every other former music video station. *sigh*

  • Gotta love bubs xD

  • it hadly shows mike, cant even tell its him

  • This song is still amazing. Brings back a lot of memories.

  • this song is great. Love the mellow yellow sound

  • That's bubbles playing guitar?! that's awesome!

  • They are like a Canadian version of Weezer + Killjoys

  • BUBBLES!!!!

  • this song is sweet and they dont have it on iTunes. for shame!

  • hey guys i really like a song by this band, i believe its called "red" or something like that. i cant find it anywhere if any one knows what im talking about or has access to the music video id love it if u would post it. thanks.

  • @MrOkelly26 Hey, you might be thinking of "Red" by Treble Charger.

  • o no i found it after well i found the name of it, its called ..to red but no video of it is on youtube that i can find

  • treble charger - red ?

  • bubbles wrote there songs ,most of them

  • @1994austin1994 Take a good look at the guitar player with the shaved head- that is Mike "Bubbles" Smith. Your uncle is a dumb ass.

  • @1994austin1994 He plays the guitar check on wikipedia and youll see

  • Hey, are there any Canadians who remember Sandbox in their popularity who can vouch for how big they actually were in Canada? Like radioplay, tv play, hype, etc. and what not? And the same question goes for U.S folks. Thanks!

  • .They were pretty big for a few years but then broke up. They had a few songs that were always on Much Music for a while, this one was the biggest. They were on the radio a lot too. I don't know how they did in the US but I know they spent a lot of time down there. Why do u want to know?

  • Cuz their awesome, and I wasn't really old enough and aware enough to recognize them at the time. Just pure curiosity, nothing more, and theres not much written about them either

  • They had below average popularity from my perspective in the 90s. I only remember this tune getting moderate airplay for a little while and a few interviews with them. I still have one from Going Coastal in Halifax on VHS. It is kind of surreal watching it back and thinking this quiet rock guy ended up being a ridiculously funny character.

They were never as big as Matthew Good Band, Sloan, Tea Party, nor even the medium popularity of bands like Age of Electric, Limblifter, and The Odds.

  • they pretty much just came and went, good sound but no real word of mouth or hype backing them up.

  • iAM curious, this is true and coincidence as well iAM

  • Lead singer is a GM for PB

  • BUBBLES BUBBLE BUBBLES...TPB 4 EVER

  • they ota make a cover of a dream theater song dont u think?

  • Scott is still playing bass for different groups. Mike( Lead guitarist) is bubbles from TPB. Paul( Singer) last i heard was in sales for Pinty Bose the mail company out of toronto. Jason( Guitar) Is a doctor. Tony( Drummer) last time i was talking to scott tony was selling off most of his drum gear, But i don't know what tony is doing.

But i think we're gonna have to start a facebook group to give a "Fond Hello" to the band that we loved

  • Hey there, Thanks much for the info. I appreciate it. All the best

  • Does anyone know what happened to Paul Murray, the lead singer, and what hes doing now?

Or the others for that matter.

  • Mike smith, the one guitarist is bubbles on trailer park boys.....if u didn't already know. Haven't heard anything about the rest.

  • Mike smith AKA Bubbles was one of the GUITAR players not the drummer. he's the one with the shaved head.

  • FAIL bubbles was the guitarist

  • @feeboo44 get ur facts straight b4 u post greasy ass comments

  • I believe he went on to be a doctor

  • i know the bassist very well theyre music is timely and very hard to get out of your had for catchyness these guys shoulda been enormus

  • As i said in another vid...I'd pay lots of coin to see these guys just on more time... Best thing from atlantic Canada Ever

  • Yay bubbles! (1:10, 2:14, 2:18, etc...) :P

  • Remember the Walton's and Weeping Tile from that year too? I think Sarah Harmer came from the weeping tiles. Jack Soul played at the Hangar that year too.

  • These guys played at AJ's Hangar in Kingston in '95/'96 I think. The guy told my friend the song was about his dog called "Curious" that ran away when he was a kid. I haven't heard this is years, until Ii heard that Bubbles plays guitar for it,lol. I wonder if he was there when we saw them...?

  • what band member is Mike Smith?

  • White shirt and buzz cut = BUBBLES. He looks pretty serious...who'd of known his destiny....

  • the cool guy

  • I supported Sandbox from their days as Sandbox Legacy, playing The Palace in Halifax. This was a very talented band, who could have gone far, had the circumstances aligned. Still love 'em.

  • makes me smile, period!

  • Good song. I like the video.

  • I promoted this amazing band back when their "Bionic" cd came out in the mid 90's. I picked the disc out of about 300 that were on my desk. I always thought they were talented and would make great music. If anyone likes this song, pick up "Bionic", or their second and sadly, their final album, "Murder in the Glee Club"

  • Thats awesome, I never knew Bubbles was in this band. It makes sense now, I remember a few years ago when I was on myspace I saw his page and it had this song as his profile song. I just figured it described bubbles enough to be his profile song. It made me think about bubbles wondering about what happened to his parents. I still think its a pretty good song for his character.

  • bubbles u legend!!!! cool song too

  • Ahhhh... those were the days.. when MuchMusic was actually worth watching. WTF happened? Oh yeah, N'Sync and Britney arrived.

  • bugged the shit out of Sandbox to play "And the mood changes" one night at AJ's Hangar in Kingston, but they kept laughing at me and shaking their head, still love them

  • its really to bad they werent more famous

  • my band covered this song at our last gig. People really liked it. Some even recognized it XD

its a really fun song to cover - REALLY simple to play but really difficult to keep tight. I know we slipped a few times

  • I hear this song on Q104 all the time, I saw Sandbox at erm I think it was Dalapalooza in the mid 90's or sometime around then....they were awesome. even bought a t-shirt...damn where'd that shirt go, it was comfy hehehehe.
