When did the iTunes WiFi store start movie purchases? I talked to a Best Buy (local electronics store in the U.S.) rep and he said they'd probably never do it because of the bandwidth it takes and time it takes to download movies over WiFi, and his opinion was that the Touch couldn't handle it.

Personally, I'd say the new apps are worth it. But it depends what your usage will be. I have previously often wished I could write notes on the system, for example.
The maps is another thing. You can look up directions, and then they are stored on your iPod during travel.
Whether it is a waste of money really depends on what you would use.

i bought the damn update and it doesnt work, b4 i bought it i updated everything itunes 7.6 and software 1.1.3 and i lost AU$25 its messed up. go to apple ipod touch support on their site and u will c how many ppl are complaining its not fair stupid little apple dickheads, sorry for my language i tried to tone it down but im soooo angry!!!!!

Yes. I have done it. You have to downgrade using the right software (ie for ipod touch, not iphone or other ipod versions). Its quite easy.. just google it.

To answer a couple of questions:
There is no camera.
The maps only work when you're near a wireless connection.
The update is £12.99 if I remember right.

Unfortunately, you need to buy the iPod Touch software update too to be able to receive the apps.
