  • why must the epiphone version look better than the gibson!?

  • I'm going to sell my ESP EX-50 and upgrade to this beast.

  • @MrSkyman457 What's the fucking difference?

  • the explorer just fits so well with Metallica riffs, it must just be the fact james hetfield uses an explorer or sumthing?

  • the guitar looks small to me.

  • @Markrozon....the 58' gothic and the 84' are very similar expect the 84 has active EMG'S were's the.gothic has passive pick ups (i think)...both are good guitars

  • hi, i heard that guitar is smaller than a standar explorer shape, is that true??

  • Is it worth to buy one? :)

  • @MrCamargoRock Trust me, i've got the 1984 and it kicks all sorts of ass. It's SO heavy. Plus the LTD looks like crap. So Epiphone all the way :D

  • @Wintersun93 i have him its my best friend! xD

  • O: very accurate metallica tone

  • Aside from the fact that it's got EMGs, is this guitar in any way better than Epiphone Goth Explorer ?

  • @Makrozon i guess

  • LOL an epiphone, with a fender headstocks background

  • slap an ESP sticker on that baby

  • Got one of these from Nevada from this exact Guy!!!

If jesus played Guitar this is him!!!!!!

  • Sorry but Marshall isn't even on the same page as ENGL. German engineering is way superior to the NEW Marshall gear. Now the Old stuff is a different story, but not that new crap they are putting out. Want good sound go buy Blackstar Series One.

  • forgive me but try that same guitar with a marshall..

  • shame on you for not down picking master of puppets!

  • i love the fact that there is no pick guard!

  • SONISPHERE!

  • not reli a guitar a would pick.. i like the flying v much more!

  • I would kill for this one

  • holy cow! is beatifull

  • second!

  • I wonder, if you just took a stick and stuck EMGs on it, would it sound like all the other EMG guitars?

  • @theverbalrelease Like a Steinberger ?

  • how come epiphone make Explorer's just like old ESP Explorer without the cocky gibson suing it?

i mean... why are they still producing it after Gibson sued ESP, more like "stealing" ESP's idea, because ESP what made an Explorer famous, not Gibson, i think only Gibson sued ESP because they were better than Gibson's Explorer, and more selling than Gibson's Explorer..

    F-U GIBSON!!! >:\

  • @MrWWEThemeSongs1V2 maybe because epipgone is a brand of lower quality of gibson?

  • @MrWWEThemeSongs1V2 ...not exactly, it was Jaymz Hetfield who kinda made it mainstream ( but eric clapton has played the explorer long before metallica existed ^^)...

  • @RustyPease yes i get that, James who made the explorer famous, but i mean that ESP has made a better explorer than Gibson, it even has an EMG pickups, and no pick guard

  • @MrWWEThemeSongs1V2 ...i owned a 76 explorer and i was surprised how good the pickups were... the stock pu's of gibson are underestimated imho... i also had 85 an 81 emg pu's , they are good of course but if you already have the ...the only thing that kinda sucks is the pick guard... but it's about sound first of all ;) .... i regrett selling my 76 explorer... but im also looking for an esp mx220 since many years without luck =/ ....they seem to be harder to find than a '59 LP ^^

  • @RustyPease well i found an ESP Explorer MX200 on a website called "studiogears" but i found it online after i bought my jackson warrior, so parents wouldn't bought it for me, here's the link

    studiogears(dot)com/ESP_LTD_EXP-200_Electric_Guitar_in_Black_B-stock(dot)htm

  • @theverbalrelease depends more on your amp.

  • @RandomGuitarist96

EMGs tend to make every guitar sound the same. The quality of distortion still depends on the amp, but that amp would sound the same with any EMG guitar plugged in. The guitars wood and other hardware, etc, don't really matter once EMGs are in.

Any other pickups sound would vary based on the pickups windings, the magnet used, the wood, electronics, etc, whereas EMGs tend to look right past all that to make their signature, yet very repetitive, sound.

  • @RandomGuitarist96

Personally, I own a guitar with EMGs and I love it. But if I were to buy another guitar, say the one reviewed here, I would have to swap the EMGs out so as to not get too repetitive with the sound, lest I have two guitars that sound exactly the same. Not that that's bad either, you could dedicate each guitar to it's own personal tuning. It all just depends on what matters to you.

  • @theverbalrelease no i wont diffrent wood makes diffrence to the sound aswell

  • @theverbalrelease

No. EMGs do eliminate a little bit of the guitar's natural sound, but I can still tell my LTD apart from my explorer.

  • first!
