i was at that game! the call was a horrible call, the player did dive, the canes been doing it to the panthers all season. The call was legit, even though Staal dived. The call was "hooking", not "tripping". Why wasn't there a diving call? Well, it was hooking. Falling down isn't required. Therefore, its technically not embellishing it if you don't need it for the call. Although a penatly can be called.

Carolina does not dive. Staal does a lot. But saying the whole team does is just a sterotype. Allen and Jokinen do dive. (Notice how I didn't say "Florida dives"?)
