  • Great track. The Chrono series REALLY needs a sequel but unfortunately, neither CT nor CC sold very well compared to any of the Final Fantasy games.

  • @gunpei they came out in the shadow of them, which made critiques call this game worse than it actually is. It should have been bought alot more.

  • Favorite character time:

I'd have to say I'm torn between Harle and Kid. In some of the CG's though, Harle looks absolutely gorgeous.... Almost makes me wonder what she truly looked like without her costume and all that makeup.

  • As much as I love the CC OST, this is probably one of the weaker tracks in my opinion.

  • @lordcyrus Really? I think it's awesome.

  • They either need to remake the chrono seris or release a new one

  • @TheMikon I think Bioware could pull it off, they know how to craft masterpiece stories

  • @ZeroDarkOmega I would love to see it but it's up to Square Enix and I doubt they would release the rights

  • So much tension and sadness in this piece. You really do feel like floating slowly in still water as broken pieces of boats and bones of victims float about around you. Each one gently whispering to you their last memories...

Mitsuda is amazing at painting these pictures.

  • I love Chrono Cross, and its music especially.

  • chrono cross game rocks

  • This game had an amazing soundtrack (Mitsuda was on top of his game during the PS1 years) but the game itself just didn't deliver the same kind of spirited and swashbuckling fun as the first game.

  • Great game.

  • One of my favorites games with a great music. The plot is hard to understand at first but give it something and you will get it(usually at the end of the game). This kind of games are like that,my advice is to complete the game as much as you can to get the full picture.Great job SupraDarky and keep adding songs like this.

  • you might as well upload every song from this game

  • One of the best soundtracks of all time, regardless of medium. I have yet too see a VGM list without one song from this game popping up. Mitsuda is a modern day Mozart -3

  • This part of the game creeped me out. It's kind of the ugly side of tampering with time.

  • Time Crash! Love this part of the game :-D

  • This music is one reason that this part is the best in the game!

  • definitely one of the most memorable songs in CC in my opinion. love this one

  • I thought the list was over

  • As I always mention... Mitsuda's masterpiece. Chrono Cross' soundtrack is simply mesmerizing. Thanks for adding it Supra.

  • UNE TUERIE!!! Z'en veut un nouveau de comme ça! SQUARE-ENIX ??:(

  • This song, along with the setting it played in, were absolutely sublime. The atmosphere was very memorable, and had an eerie sense of beauty and longing. This and Dragon's Prayer are probably my faves of the soundtrack.

  • I wonder why youtube doesnt close your account for whatever stupid infringements. well they really shouldnt

  • This song reminds me a tiny bit of the Main Theme of Parasite Eve, except a tad more whimsical...you know for a song called Dead Sea.

  • Perfectly fits the what the fu** atmosphere frozen in time.

  • Nice way to restart the list at #1001 with the two games I think have the best soundtrack of all games, and also the two games that you introduced to me

  • WWTTTFFF I just started my first ever playthrough of this today. Mind readers up in this bitch.

  • Most haunted/fucked up part of the game. But had the most lasting impression.

  • Now go for the 10000! :D

  • Does anyone else think this sounds a little bit like Blue Fields from Final Fantasy 8?

  • I'm just glad to see SupraDarky didn't end it at 1000. :D

  • I can't wait till CC comes out on Android OS (Yes, it's happening)

  • Chrono Cross' soundtrack is filled with so many emotionally charged pieces. The battle with Miguel at the Dead Sea, with its theme, makes this level quite possibly the most memorable in the game. It's a toss-up between the Dead Sea and Fort Dragonia, IMO.

  • Stats update: Chrono Cross has reached the 7-song mark... quite a feat on this list, putting it almost halfway towards its predecessor Chrono Trigger's 15 songs.

Chrono Cross is the only the second game published after 1999 to reach 7 songs.

  • They need to do a HD remake of this game! I never played the original!

  • I do have to say that this game some crazy twists that were just NUTS! But I still liked it... Also, this song kinda reminds me of the theme from Parasite Eve.

  • I was also just thinking how I needed to play this game again. Played it about a year and a half ago, but since this is my favorite game of all time, I think another playthrough might be in order! Especially so I can hear amazing songs like Dead Sea, which is one of the best songs in the game.

  • I was just wondering when this game was going to come back up! 380 songs is a LONG wait for the greatest OST of all time ;)

  • YES! Finally, more Chrono Cross.

  • Great sound track, bad game.

To this day, no one still fully understands its plot and Square will never give us proper closure to the series.

  • @genesisSOC

bad game, are you kidding? have you even played it, or are you just one of the CT fanboys that refuse to compliment this game?

  • @mistaphill I got the game the day it came out and was thoroughly disappointed in it as both CT-2 and as its own game. You're just one of those CC fanboys that refuse to respect the superior and original games.

  • @genesisSOC Wrong, as I love old school games and CT is one of my favorite games on any system. Just don't agree that Cross was bad, it's a very good game and a worthy sequel

  • @mistaphill i agree with mistaphill

  • @genesisSOC We understand the plot, it just took a while. Everything was just thrown in the end with bad pacing. Great game, not so great execution. It still is in my Top 5, though.

  • @FuzWuz No, there are still things that cannot be explained in Cross. No one can explain it, not you. Don't give me that crap.

  • i discovered recently that chrono cross' ost is great to hear when you are studing calculus, most of if is relaxing, and challenging at times, so you dont get angry with hard exercises and feel motivated to keep going

  • 0:40 - 1:01 sooo soothing.

  • @wiiplayin WOW LOOK AT THAT ORANGE

  • The very start of this song always reminds me of Parasite Eve's main theme...lol

  • Yeaaaaah! Startin' the next thousand with some great picks Supra! Chrono Cross is ALWAYS a good choice for great video game music!

  • The good news is Chrono Cross is finally hitting PSN(going by an esrb rating and gamespot dot ccom). My ps1 version and a friends both keep getting stuck in the same spot so I can't wait for it to release so I can play it again.

  • THANKS SUPRADARKY, these songs are well chosen and i LOVE the commentary that you introduce us with each time, KEEP IT UP!!!!

  • I love how it's a remix of Sealed Door from Chrono Trigger by Mitsuda. A piece originally done by Uematsu when he completed the last few tracks of the CT OST when Mitsuda got sick.

  • @xOmniCloudx i wouldnt say its a remix of Sealed Door. The short intro melodies are the same...but its a completely different song after that.

  • @TheKrustaceox A remix doesn't have to sound simply like a remixed version of the original song all the way through. Some remixes don't even sound anything like the original song. It's all about the notes.

  • @xOmniCloudx a remix that doesnt sound anything like the original song? Well, i think thats a matter of opinion. Ok.

  • While I almost play Chrono Trigger yearly, I haven't played Chrono Cross in a long while. Time is my biggest enemy right now, but I'll get to a replay of this game when I can. I remember the Dead Sea very well though, it was pretty memorable, especially with Nadia's Bell at the center.

  • @SupraDarky I see what you did there. The Time Devourer is feeding off of you.

  • @SupraDarky Do you ever worry about "spoiling the experience" for gamers that haven't played a VGM's game? Like this memorable part of the game may not be so memorable for people, when they play it after listening to it's music through you. I'm not accusing you of it, I'm just wondering your take on this.

Or, have you ever felt that listening to a VGM before hearing it in the game's context has spoiled that part of the game?

  • @dx619hey Late answer, but there's really nothing I can do about that. The best thing I'd say about that is not to click on the video in the first place if you're afraid of being spoiled in any way, including hearing a VGM.

  • @SupraDarky I understand where dx619hey is coming from by saying that hearing vg music before experiencing it in game can spoil the experience. In times before youtube this wasn't an issue. But really, if you're interested in a game's music, you owe it to yourself to play through it before coming on here. Then after that you can listen to the music and think back on it.

  • @SupraDarky i know what you mean, but i also know how is to have all the fun spoiled...

like when i discovered what was the fate of aerith a few days before i could get my hands in ff7

  • @SupraDarky your next video should be a song from dark souls

  • @SupraDarky do you have any dark cloud music on the list? if not i think you should really add some. or how about shadow of the colossus? great soundtrack there too...

  • @DivineBanana Both games have 2 tracks on the list as well as Dark CLoud 2. :)

  • @SupraDarky I played Chrono Trigger very often, but not yet this game, who seems to be awesome, so i think it get's TIME
