  • I love the B-52s. I have been to several of their concerts. When I lived in Myrtle Beach they appeared at the Afterdeck. We were right at the stage and could almost touch their legs. They are great fun and very creative. This is one of my favorites by them.

  • Such a cute band-all of em.

  • I adore these guys because they are just funnnnnn and always creative in a rainbowish wayyyyy

  • Love this Song.

  • Cindy's beautiful here

  • i' love you the B'52s

  • too bad they were late for the 60's

  • @judahglass As amazing as they are, I fear they may have drowned within the 60s. One of the things that makes them so unique is that they had that retro thing, even at the time. Given the band now has two levels of retro going on here. 60s look/late70s-80s music.

  • Wow! How cool is this?! They look so different without their beehives. One of my favorite B-52's songs!

  • arklat...Totally agree!...nice post

  • And now they are heffers, lol!

  • That fragment of another song right at the beginning, fits perfectly as the intro to the B52's song. Right tempo, even the right key. Strange coincidence.

  • A moment in time captured here forever is a precious thing indeed. Watching and listening to this takes me back in time again and reawakens those forgotten memories and emotions from the early 80's.

  • Been a B-52 's fan since 1980, never seen this clip before...Cindy you are DIVINE! Ricky you are the best guitar player, so good it sucks you left us so early!

There is an extended version, I might have a tape possibly called Party Mix, which kicks arse!!

  • Indochine are big ball suckers !

    Comprenne qui pourra !

  • I never noticed at the time, but with all the fun silliness that you think of when you think of the B52s, at the same time, Cindy's parts were pretty angst-filled weren't they? I mean, she sounds really desparate on Hero Worship, and the beginning part of "Dance this Mess Around", and also on this song. At times, when I hear the parts that Cindy contributed, I get choked up nowadays. She was a very powerful emotion generator. Salute, Ricky Wilson Forever!

  • @chrisrus1965 yes, Cindy always sang their "sad" songs. "queen of las vegas" was like that too. there was something kind of melancholy about her voice and delivery. check out "she brakes for rainbows" and "aint that a shame" for some more cindy wilson sadness.

  • the FULL version link is broken. HELP!

  • Excellent! Nostalgia 80.

  • A guy in Blackpool told us to buy the first LP - I've been in love ever since then - that was 1980?!

  • cindy was quite literally the sexiest bitch on the planet in this clip!!

  • Beat-Niks

  • Rebecca Black over these guys no contest B 52s

  • I play Guitar and no note i play is as good as this song

  • what a gem...so pure...

  • Walkin out of Korvettes.....Definitely from NJersey! Kick ass song.

  • fantastic track I love it, pure genius

  • I''m glad I was around back then. Keyboards, go-go dancing quirky chicks, a harmonious beat (never heard such before or again), and Fred Scnieder spazzing out. Excellence!

  • Like her shoes ... and all the rest !!

  • 23 ppl got the fish instead of the candy

  • Love this song. It was nice of the gays to give the only straight one in the band the solo spotlight for a moment ;-)

Before you attack me for being a homophobe... I'm gay, it was a joke, and I love all five members of B52s.

  • @bigstereo kate was straight here too tho ... she's only been converted with her last relationship of her entire life and relationship thus far in the last decade .... defo a late commer to the gay side X)

  • Oh Cindy!

    Such a honey voice!

    Such BIG lady eyes!

  • "I'LL GIVE YOU FISH"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i want candy

  • I like in the bridge the way CIndy walks off and turns around kind of robot-like- this is so good.

  • It's kind of a shame that the band got a bit of a novelty tag I think. Behind the wackiness they had some awesome funky stuff going on, (surprised they haven't been ripped off by todays talentless losers yet) still I got em, other peoples loss I guess.

Had tickets for them in the 80s but couldn't make it (thanks Shaun!), finally saw them live in 2009! Better late than never.

  • I just wanted to say that this my favourite pop song of all time.

  • @trashcanalive Actually, now that I think of it, it isn't my favourite but it's up there.

  • 23 people got justin beiber tatooed on there crotches

  • There's a sound in this that's almost industrial... is it just a wobbleboard?

  • Pues si, asi se bailaba en los 80´s y sigue actual.

  • Pues si, asi se bailaba en los 80´s

  • This is awesome...how in the world could 23 people dislike this?!

  • I am speechless...this is sooooo good. I saw them live at the UW in the early 80's and they were fantastic. Both girls had the beehives and were barefoot the whole show. The crowd was going crazy. One of the best concerts I have ever been to.

  • Absofuckinglutely love it..........

  • Whats wit da split second of ROMEO VOID AT THE VERY start of the best female leads to ever grace vinyl. Along with DEBRA IYALL 2, HARD 2 SAY WHICH BAND WAS HIPPEST..... 2 WAY TIE, BOTH 2 FINE 4 PRIME TIME!!!!!!!!

  • Fred's trying very hard to look useful with his tambourine lol

  • @trashcanalive Hahahah that's pretty amusing. I guess at least he probably appreciates the break in singing if this comes on during a concert.

  • Their music will never get old...

  • that was the shit right there!

cindy is like hot in this number.

  • incredible

  • Remember when you didn't have to do fancy dancing to impress people? How about just an amazing voice and great lyrics/music being enough to carry a video?

  • @BardosBoy Not that I was born before 1991 but I'm aware costumes aren't new. I don't hear anyone complaining about Sweet's or David Bowie's costumes from the 70s. And sure I remember when one didn't need costumes, I went to a concert last year that I enjoyed immensely without costumes. I'll name some bands/artists that don't wear costumes that I know of: The New Pornographers, Flipron, Destroyer, Neko Case, Flogging Molly. Some wear special clothes for shows but that's as far as they go.

  • Can we just clone Cindy Wilson so we never lose her voice, intensity, authenticity or her great look/style? She'll give me fish AND candy?! What a deal!

  • Yes, her control of her own voice is amazing. She seems not to have a natural big lungs which could enable her a great voice range. Anyway, she manages so well to explore the best of her voice at the top of her lungs in key every aspect. And she keeps it in key. Bravo Cindy !! You're just great !!

  • @BardosBoy - how about we cut off your wimpy testicles with a rusty blade and stop you from reproducing more fucking morons /

  • Why is Cindy so tempting? Barefoot. Hypnotic eyes. Sexy voice. Emotion. Sexy dancing. No panties. I know I'm in love!

  • Bloody brilliant video...

  • Keith played drums until Ricky Wilson passed.

  • @exmachinema Thank Rolling Stone Magazine for confusion between Ricky and Keith. They said in one article that Ricky played drums. Someone assumed too much.

  • Gawd they were the hippest, coolest band of all time...

  • Where is Keith Strickland in this video?

  • @dinho01 Playing the drums.

  • Rare magic in this sad song.

  • Listen to "Lava"

  • cindy is so cute! why could i not find a girl like this in college?

  • @fredlinne because there is only one Cindy Wilson......:-)

  • I love you, CINDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyyyyyyy

  • still in love with Kate and by the way Cindy was always a blond

  • If my wife looked and sounded like this, I would be banging her three times a day, 365 days a year and and extra three times on a leap year, 'cause this is a sexy song and rendition. Don't make no sense, but, hey, it's true for me!

  • @USABG58 Thats just sad man, how would your wife feel ? btw Cindy looks like a kid here, cute ? yes...sexy ? no....

  • @tecdessus Naw, she doesn't look like a kid, to me. She looks like a tall Texas-woman, the kind of tall, lanky gals that usually have a quiet, interesting personality. But, I love the black masquera and am always trying to get my wife to wear her eyes like that...I mean...like once a year! But Cindy is a fox here, darn it!

  • Kate Pierson looks like Carol (Dinah Manoff) from NBC's 80's sitcom "Empty Nest" in this clip

  • MASTER PIECE

  • its a real ball buster to watch her crash on white heroin

  • true art

  • Wow, great video! The voice of Cindy is so sweet and sexy.........

  • :39 seconds. Wow I didn't know Tom Brady was the drummer for the B52s. Great job Tom.

  • Loved this song so much when it came out - haven't heard it for 30 years. It meant so much to me then (sob) Such a brilliant band.

  • Bast

  • yeah, before b52's really had a name, love it!

  • Funny, I think they just wear wigs.

  • Caught them back in the day @ the Agora in Cleveland... full of energy & delight. A rare quality then, rarer still today!

  • This is like the perfect song. Is what all this bands are trying to revive. CSS and etc. Thats the original

    PURE NEW WAVE

  • my first venture into "cool college music" very underated song and band!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cindy encantadora!! no puedo parar de escucharlos una y otra vez!!

  • SIU Carbondale 1981 music that changed my life...

  • drawing with musical instruments .... beautyfull

  • I feel sorry for those who did not live the 80's, the best time for talents and special music like this group. I'm still loving these adorable eyes Cindy has despite the time make us change the appearence, I dont care, love that woman.

  • @mrman063 i'm with you !

  • @misssacramento way more than `just`a party band surely ?

  • I simply adore Cindy when she does her white girl dance. But her voice is so comical and soo soo good to listen to. Th 52's lives up to the party band, indeed!

  • Kate usually gets more attention, but she seems very plain-Jane here compared to Cindy.

  • @madapplejack, I'd say Cindy gets more guys attention over all, but in this vid, they both look great, this vid shows Kate the best I've ever seen her, I'm mean bangin.

  • I don't understand the lyrics I" I give you candy I give you what"?

  • @fas852 - I'll give you fish! I'll give you candy! I'll give you.. everything I have in my hand!

  • @star69elvis oops, sorry didn't see you had already replied hahaha :D

  • @fas852 "I'll give you fish, I'll give you candy, I'll give you everything I have in my hand." :)

  • This is soooo good. Killer beat with sultry vocals and one hell of a geetar player. Love you Ricky. Fred, you never fail to get a smile from me whenever I see you!!!

  • Give me fish !

  • This song's been buzzing around my head for weeks! 'Planet Claire' is great as well - I'm not too old to enjoy the music I've always liked!

  • This song's been buzzing around my head for weeks - one of the best from my youth!

The others include them also - Planet Claire is great also!

  • Where's Fred's gay porn star stache?

  • RIP Ricky.

    .... Cindy is hot.

  • what do you call fred's dance move at 2:02 ?

  • @randy319 "The Pony"

  • RIP RICKY!

  • Epic tambourine playing~~~

  • This is the best thing I've ever seen.

  • Anybody have any idea as to why this video had gone unreleased??

  • @gvt2u No why ?

  • @tecdessus I suppose it's just because they had bad management at that time. Gary Kurfirst I think was his name, and he showed no respect for the band. This video should have been on MTV.

  • @gvt2u Absolutely, I`m still waiting for all the Bs vids and promo films to come out on dvd, remastered ! lol. According to Keith and Cindy, they still have their `basement tapes`, both audio and video, I`m waiting for those to come out too :-)

  • Never have offers of fish and/or candy been quite so sensual.

  • It's such a pleasure to see this video when they were so young and brilliant. One of the most important moments of rock and roll history was taking place through their music. New Wave was coming at its best.

  • they are NOT ,'miming', I'm almost certain. This is such a real song...she's trying to appease some unknown force, thru the seagulls, hoping they will intercede on her behalf....it's one of the saddest songs I've ever heard...utter desperate, futile, supplication....

  • They are all miming to the studio recording.

  • @bundleHastings The band will have been told to mime to make life easy for the tv production company. There was no internet then only TV, radio and the music press to get exposure. A band could refuse to mime if they liked but that meant no TV exposure, what would you have done?

  • brings back memories of seeing them back in 1981 and singing this song !!!!!!!

  • look how young they are!!!! Cindy is a hottie !!!!

  • saw this in black and white.

  • Mucho swing; directamente de los albores de los 80; que buena canción!!!

  • Tov meod

  • Thanks for sharing-fantastic

  • I remember me and my friends bouncin around dancing, and playing air guitars to this as teenagers. Damn I'm old.

  • WOW i have been wating 30 years to see this.

    THANX FOR POSTIN

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone else see the sheer innocense of 1:45-2:00 where sister looks up at brother for timing sequence? Its incredibly poignant and sad at once. Weird

  • Wow....B-52's brings me back when i was a teen.....thx for this video to whoever posted it.......excellent!!!!

  • I think I'm in love with Cindy Wilson. Why did she ever go blonde?

  • @mick2spic I think her natural hair color was like Ricky`s :-)

  • @mick2spic Who is not in love with Cindy..??? 8-))

  • Whitebait and wine gums, turbot and toffee, shark and sherbet you just cant b(eat) that fish/candy combination.

  • Whoa !

  • Ricky was such an under rated guitar player. Plus 2:00-2:15 is a total crack-up

  • @cbmdg8551976 Underrated? Very. But his style is so simple that nobody realizes what he really played except for those who listen carefully and try to imitate his style! At one time I thought Ricky was the worst guitarist I ever heard because his style seemed so simple, Times have changed and now hes the most influential over me (Although not guitar style wise, Oddly enough!) You know the album version of "Lava"? I think he could play both guitar parts in that song at the same time!

  • @101Volts

if you're referring to the a;bum version it was most likely different tracks. However he was definitely capable. The dude was incredible on the axe. Totally original within the framework. Not a fan of the lifestyle, died too young. Heavily influenced by 60's surf-guitar players like Dick Dale, but still had his own feel

  • Comment removed

  • @cbmdg8551976 I'm sure it was different tracks in the album version. Knowing his style though it does seem like he could have played both parts at once. He could be the most unique guitarist I've ever heard, Not because of the overall sound of his guitar style but rather how he played it. Its not often that I hear of any other guitarists playing like he did, Only the biggest fans do it. Yes, He died too young and its still sad that he died so young. Well, It always will be sad.

  • @101Volts No doubt, very talented and unique in his guitar-line phrasing, sound (for that period, especially) and style. Wasn't hard to recognize a B-52 song those days for sure most of that was owed to him. You want to see another unique player from that period check out Jeff Healy, another very unique player but for a different reason

  • @cbmdg8551976 I've been learning the guitar parts for Lava, Tuned the same way and with the two middle strings removed. Ricky could as a matter of fact play all that at once. Anyway, I have a Jeff Healy Band CD. I haven't listened to it much but I'm aware that he was blind and played his guitar with it in his lap, Much like a "Lap steel" Guitar. I can't think of any other players like him from that period of time, There is another player much like him now but I can't recall his name.

  • @101Volts That was the unique part of Healy. While seated, the way he covered the fret board playing the way he did. Wasn't that keen on his tunes but it was cool to get the different perspective. What was the tuning for Lava? He removed the G and D strings? What was he going for there? Yeah man you can't go wrong with anything on the first albums, like I said very unique sound he pulled off

  • @cbmdg8551976 It is cool to see different ways to play guitar. Anyway, The tuning for Lava is DAxxBB. The xs represent that no string is in that slot. Ricky had to remove the two strings in order to play Lava the way he did, The middle strings get in the way of playing all the parts on one guitar.

  • Deadly range displayed by Cindy. She looks so cute in this vid.

These two girls have never gotten their proper due. Individually very unique, great singers in their own right. Together ... absolutely among the best harmonizations in rock history. Totally defines the band's signature sound.

Luv 'em to death and particularly this vinatage of CIndy. Makes we wish for a time machine ;o).

  • not enough songs have fish and bribery as a concept.

  • @emellemc LMAO, too funny !

  • @emellemc When you throw in the candy, who could resist that?

  • the best ever i agree with dilliphant

  • WOW. Every now and then you come across something from the ages that you wish you'd heard half your lifetime ago. Excellent song and video, nice find 'giantsno1'! ;)

  • Killer !!

  • I love this song and both Cindy and Kate, nowadays even better...

  • no tiene voz, canta feo pero me gustan los b-52 jajaja

  • I LOVE Cindy!

  • Cindy looks like a total miss america doll, except cindy looks all natural and earthely. That's what i call exquisite beauty.
